I had been searching Charlotte for a nail tech I could trust-- there's nothing worse than walking out dissatisfied with your mani or pedi. Actually, there is something worse: finding an excellent nail tech who's unprofessional and doesn't respect your time. But thankfully, that's not the case at Modish. From the moment I sit in the chair, it feels less like a nail appointment and more like a mini therapy session. The girls are incredibly warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy that instantly lifts your mood. Leacka and I always go all out, and my nails come out flawless every time. Malisa does my daughter's nails, too, and we're both beyond satisfied with the care and attention we receive. Modish isn't just a nail salon--it's a place where you feel valued, relaxed, and genuinely cared for. I honestly look forward to every visit! read more

The Aesthetic: If you prefer a glitzy looking nail salon, this place is for you. The oversized chandeliers make it feel extra fancy schmancy. The Price: Moderate- not very cheap, but not a fortune. Expensive for the area. I like to tip a little more since these techs are working with their hands all day. The Value: I feel that I get my money's worth every time I come here. They do a lot of layers of gel polish, and it stays on for a couple weeks! The Parking: It's in a strip mall, so there is ample parking. The Conclusion: Despite the poor reviews on here, I've never had an issue. It does take forever, so take that into account. I love that they take there time. Give it a shot! read more

Modish Nail Spa - Black polish - Nail Salons Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

Really mediocre work (lazy shaping that left hangnails and jagged edges, sloppy painting) and odd vibes. It isn't super clean and the manicurist never thoroughly cleaned my nails (didn't get underneath my fingernails at all). One of the employees was curled up in a pedicure chair sleeping. You can find better. read more

First time. Brought my 14 year old daughter. She got a mani pedi I got a mani. I thought surely after 5 on Friday we'd have quite the wait or wouldn't get in. Quite the contrary. There were two people ahead of us checking in and after we were checked in we were seated immediately. 15 minutes later someone started on her feet and five minutes after that someone started on my nails. Both techs were pleasant and did a good job. Very spacious. I counted 22 seats for pedicures. We will likely return here. read more

I got a pedicure and the lady that did them was not gentle at all. In fact, she left a scar on my pinky toe. I also asked for a fill-in and have sat unoticed for 45mins. This has been the longest and worst experience I could have experience. I should have been received service. read more

I can't rave enough about my experience here yesterday for my Deluxe Pedicure! I came with two friends for a short girls' day, and we were seated quickly for our pedicures. It was pretty busy despite it being a rainy day. I had a wonderful technician who immediately offered me something to drink, which included either soda, sangria, wine, or water. The sangria was super tasty and it was a great start to the service. It was an incredible experience with extra touches for the pedicure. They used the sanitary tub liner and sanitized tools. She was very warm and did a great job working on my feet that were wayyyyy overdue for a pedicure. This was a great place and for $36 I enjoyed my pedicure on my weekend trip to Charlotte! read more

I don't get my nails done often, it's not really my thing. Recently two of my friends invited me to go with them to try a place near my friends house. I decided to join and get a gel manicure. My friend made us reservations and when I arrived I was taken to my person right away. Nothing was remarkable about the experience one way or another. The manicure was a reasonable price and the gel lasted a few weeks with no issues. read more

This is the second time I've been to this location. The first time was good so I decided to go back because it was convenient to my other errands. I went from gel to a clear coat to give my nails a break. They're now bumpy and some of my nails were not even trimmed all the way down. They said "oh he can fix that". Why would I want the person that messed them up to fix it? I went back in and because the receptionists were so good, I was able to get a refund for my manicure. I wasn't concerned about my pedicure because they're my feet and nobody sees them. read more

The salon it self is very nice! Very well decorated. Staffs are friendly . Baby Kim is the best!

My cousin and aunt had been praising their nail tech Leacka and I finally got the chance to try her out. I will definitely be coming back! I stopped getting SNS for awhile because my nails were just not lasting. However, Leacka did an amazing job and was fun to talk to. All of the staff were polite, love it here! Will be returning. read more

This is my 3rd time coming. Today I was seated and waited 30 minutes at the table before the receptionist came over and was shocked no one had helped me yet. Finally bella came over talking on her phone and continued to talk on her phone. When she finally got off another worker came and sat next to her neither speaking to me and talking and laughing loudly. Then bella was on her phone taking a call again, got off two workers came over and all 3 were FaceTiming meanwhile I'm sitting there like what the hell is going on?!? The worst customer service. I got SNS nails I left with color all over my skin as well as gritty looking nails. Terrible save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I decided to check it out since I was nearby. It was a cool atmosphere and I had a woman named Amy who was nice, but idk if she was new or what but this is the worst manicure I've ever had. She filed my nails down way too much and the final result is so sloppy. I asked for a basic gel manicure, one solid color, nothing extravagant. I'm not a very hard person to please, but this place is not it. Please save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I have been going to the university location for the last few years. I used to get SNS for at least 2 years. Recently I removed the SNS and decided to let my nails "rest" for a few months only wearing polish. As I was going out of the country on a trip, I decided to treat myself and get SNS again. I wanted the French but the girl who did it was busy; so I opted for a color. While the nail technician was very personable, she did a terrible job. My nails were already short (which is how I've always worn them) but she cut them even shorter. Then she applied several layers of SNS powder and filed them down poorly. In fact, in two of the nails on my right hand there is a dip in the middle of the nails. They are soooo ugly, that I paid to have them redone at another salon. I paid $45 plus a minimal tip ($5) because she was personable. The quality of the services has been steadily declining. I've been getting pedicures and while the polish always used to last for 2-3 weeks normally, lately it chips off within a week or the smaller toes are only partially polished. I don't know if they're using a cheaper quality polish as there's an obvious push to get gel pedicures. In any case, I have noticed the difference and it isn't good. At this point I've had at least 4 bad experiences at this establishment recently. Also, I have heard similar experiences from other friends who used to frequent this place of business who are now going elsewhere. While this used to be one of the better nail salons, I can no longer say that about them. read more

Nice employees but not satisfied with my finished look. Went for sns nails and got thick chiclets with sloppy edges. Had to go back to get them fixed by another tech and did not fix them properly even after I showed him the sloppy edges. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, I went to get my nails done on a Friday. I got a gel set which is chipping already. I went back on Sunday for them to fix my nails a s they told me I had to wait 1.5 I told them I didn't have time due to my flight leaving, then the manager starts yelling at me like I'm his child, not once did I get loud with this man, I asked him for a refund and he walked away, I left, I called to ask for the owners info the receptionist hung up on me, called back and asked for the manager, ask the manager for the owner and he hung up!! They were really nice there, but I stopped the girl multiple times telling her I wanted purple instead of the color she was about to use. She kept telling me "it is purple" but it wasn't! This place has given my nail a fungi and made it swollen. Along with the fact they are very rude. One nail tech told me I should go to a different salon if I want my nails almond shaped. They also have very poor management and treat their clients terrible. Don't waste your money here. read more

The receptionists were absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in they greeted me with a smile and were super friendly and helpful. They showed me to my spot and got me a drink. I could not have gotten a better pedicure anywhere else. Brionny did an amazing job with my feet. Not only do my toes feel great, they look great! For as busy as they were she still made sure to put time and attention into my toes and did not rush. I felt so relaxed after, and am so pleased with how my toes/feet look and feel! The vibes of their plaza location is absolutely perfect! They had the cutest Christmas decorations. The colors were so aesthetically pleasing and the vibes set the tone for a nice relaxing pedicures. To all my fellow mothers out there, it's time you treat yourself and take a break. Leave the kiddos home with dad, go to Modish, get a mimosa and a deluxe manicure and pedicure. Awful experience!! I waited for an hour after the front desk said it would be 25 minute wait. It would've been fine except not one person talked to me the entire time. I could've at least been picking my color out. Then it got worse. My nail tech Gina left me sitting soaking for 40 minutes for my sns and went to the back and left me to sit there. Sns only takes 15-20min to soak off. When filing she cut almost every finger. As for the paint job it's so awful I cried. It is very bumpy and left with jagged edges and see through color. read more

I will not be returning to this salon. After getting my nails done on Friday, 2 days later my nail started lifting on Sunday, and that same one broke Sunday night. In addition, the paint job on the nails were horrible and also began to chip over the weekend. I called to ask if I could get it fixed and the receptionist told me it would be fine to just walk in. When I got there, the owner said he'd have to charge me. After I explain to him I was just here Friday, he caught an attitude and did a poor job on the nail repair because I expressed to him it didn't seem fair that I had to pay because of the poor job that was done Friday. Instead of repainting the chipped nails, he simply painted over the chipped areas. Terrible hospitality, and unprofessional. read more

This salon is quite beautiful on the inside. There are grand floral arrangements and chandeliers. There's a nail bar in the center with pedicure chairs along the perimeter. The customer service on the other hand, did not have the same ahh effect. A friend and I went in about 5pm on a Saturday without an appointment and were semi greeted. It was moderately busy, like the rush of the afternoon was winding down. After filling out a small sheet with my name and service requested I wasn't told what to do with the form which felt odd to me. I picked out a polish color-they had a decent variety that was on a wall with like hues which I really appreciated. We were shown to our seats, small sheet of paper in hand, and then just left there for almost ten minutes. I asked if the water could be turned on and I was told the tech would do that. I wasn't sure why I couldn't at least be soaking my feet while I waited on someone. The tech arrived. I was offered white or red sangria, which was complementary with the service. I got a regular pedicure for $26. There are three options. As far as pedicures go it wasn't amazing; but I got my cuticles cut, and a nice paint job. The basics. The two stars are for the beauty of the salon and the nice touch with the wine. They don't have a drying station so you just sit in the chair and wait. We sat there for an additional hour chatting and I was pleased they let us. When we left, my friend's polishes smudged! She had on flip flops and we'd been finished for two hours. We were both really surprised. read more

I went to Gina LESS than a week ago. I have MULTIPLE nails lifting and it already looks as though I could use a full in.
