This is difficult to write because, you hope someone becomes a therapist in order to help others…read more My wife and I saw Dr. Chelsie as my wife was dealing with a trauma and needed some help. Neither of us were really impressed the first session. Dr. Chelsie came across as a little eager to show what she knows and not really empathetic. My wife asked part way through for ways/tools to deal will anxiety and she literally said, "we'll get to that next session". What??? She referred us to videos online that she implied were really impressive, but they were very short and quite basic. However, we decided to give Dr. Chelsie another chance. Bad idea. The second session was just my wife. First, Dr. Chelsie didn't show up, but she called 15 min later and had to turn it into a phone session. Then, Dr. Chelsie went into an area that was clearly a trigger for my wife without prepping her and waaay before she had built any trust. This sent my wife into an emotional tail spin for days. I emailed Dr. Chelsie about how it affected my wife and informed her this was not a good fit. One would think that Dr. Chelsie would follow up on her patient after learning she did not react well to her therapy to see if she could help, or offer tools to deal with what she had done to my wife, or offer a referral to someone else... nope. She literally and completely ignored the situation. On top of that, she has ignored three requests for a superbill she promised so that we can try to have insurance cover the very high cost of this bad situation. I was not going to post anything, but I now feel this is a public service.

We're really glad we got to connect! If you are hesitant to include a therapist in your circle of people assisting you to raise your child, take a breath and get past it. I haven't been to Raise but Jess has treated someone I love. I have encountered many therapist and…read morethere are many out there who are clinically sufficient. What Jess brings to the table is something more, which was a genuine concern for my child. On one of our conversatios she said " I went on this run and I was thinking about"... she was thinking about my kid and how to help. She made me feel like we ( we because as parents, things that affect our kids affect us) were "seen." I think more often than not people get complacent in their careers, including the medical or mental health field, which I would chalk up to human nature. However, she never made me feel like my kid was number or just another patient. She was someone going through something and Jess was going to figure it out. We had to stop seeing Jess due to some circumstances out of my control. Which only lead us to a merry go round of therapists and it wasn't until then, that I was able to fully appreciate her, not only for her emotional investment in my child but also for her instincts, which were proven to be spot on. While on that mental health merry go round, I learned that not every therapist has the capability to convey a genuine sense of commitment and concern for their client/patient , however Jess did. Taking on someone else's emotional pain, trauma, anxieties and fears has to be one of the hardest jobs I could imagine, especially when it comes to children...so I can understand having and internal shut off valve and not fault anyone needing to enact that protective mechanism. But as a parent who's child hurts....I sure as shit want someone who sees my kid, as I see them. Once again I saw Jess early in her career. Not only do I magine that she has gotten better with time but I imagine now that she has her own practice, she chooses people who values their clients as much as she does. ...I did recently refer someone here and they had positive reviews about Jess, Teena and the facility.

We had tried traditional 50-minute weekly couples therapy in the past, but it felt like we spent the first 20 minutes getting caught up and the last 10 wrapping up, without ever getting to the root of our issues. We needed real help, fast. We found Michelle Shahbazyan and booked an intensive couples coaching session (her extended deep-dive session). It was hands down the best investment we have ever made in our relationship. I had seen her for some personal work many years ago and was so glad to have connected with her again for this new issue. Instead of just sitting back and taking notes, Michelle is direct, empathetic, and extremely solution-focused. Having that uninterrupted block of time during the intensive allowed us to finally tear down the communication walls, stop the endless cycle of arguing, and figure out what was actually going wrong in our marriage. If you are searching for a marriage coach or relationship counselor who actually gives you real-life, actionable tools rather than just generic advice, call Michelle. She completely shifted our perspective and gave us a clear path forward. We left our session feeling lighter, reconnected, and hopeful for the first time in years. Highly recommend her to any couple needing a true breakthrough!

I contacted Michelle and she said that my wife is very guarded about her issues and the likelihood is that she doesn't want to work on herself. Michelle was correct. In hindsight I regret we agreed to such a long initial session. I think we should have limited our initial session to an hour or two. It could have flushed out my wife's lack of willingness and commitment to counseling and saved us an enormous amount of money with no positive result.
