Well I can't really do a review on the actual nails, because when I enter the place on Sunday at 5:03 pm. I was told "closed" one word no sorry we are closed nothing but the word closed. So then I told the man your yelp says you close at 6pm he said well do you see anyone here we are closed. I popped in on a whim b/c I had a little extra time and wanted a manicure, but didn't want to spend a ton of time or money. Definitely should have splurged on a more reputable salon! I was able to walk right in but that was the only positive thing. The nail technician was not friendly at all...barely looked at me or said a word the entire time. Nail polish selection was iffy at best. The station was not very clean, lots of dust and general grime. My nails looked OK when they were done but the next day they are already chipping. Very unpleasant experience I waited for my pedicure longer then my pedicure was! And I made an appointment and had to wait 30mins! The girl I had was not friendly and didn't even introduce herself! These folks are the best! I've lost track of how many years I've been coming in. This group had the salon at Northland Mall at the time, and has a second location near Macy's. Because a friend opened a salon, I stayed away for a couple of years and when I walked back in and everyone remembered my name! They are all VERY friendly and really take good care of me. Milk and honey pedicures are heavenly! Anyone can have a bad day (in regards to other reviews) but I've never seen one! I love these guys! read more

I will never go to this business again. I live at Easton which makes the location nice but after today I'd drive out of state before I went there again. To start the technician doing my pedicure had a nasty disposition. I guess because I wanted just a basic pedicure I wasn't worthy of kindness. As I was leaving I could not find my phone. I asked and the man who oversees the shop kept telling me I didn't have a phone. Only my iPod. I repeated several times to him that I did. He raised his voice at me several times and fanned me off with his hands as if my concern of not finding my phone was of no concern to him. After calling it and finally able to hear it I realized it had fallen behind the chair. After getting my phone from under the chair he never bothered to apologize for his rudeness, or yelling the way he did. Never again will I patronize this business. read more

Got a pedi and a gel mani. Prices were high. Cost was 81.00. They even charged me 5.00 to exfoliate my feet. If I didn't pay, that would not have been part of the pedi. WHAT?! This was the worst waste of my time and money. The lady doing my pedicure was not engaged and did not do her job correctly. They were immediatley trying to hit you up for the upgraded service, and when I declined, I received very lackluster service. Didn't want to scrub and clean the toes properly. I live in California and I am not used to paying $30 for crappy service. I am giving 2 stars because I liked the color I chose. We were a group of ladies (8) and we tipped well. THE WORST MANICURE/ PEDICURE I HAVE EVER GOTTEN. My friend and I stopped in for a quick mani/pedi and we were extremely disappointed. I just got the $42 special so my expectation were not super high but I ended up being very disappointed. My pedicure was't even a pedicure, my feet but soaked in warm water and that is about it. Then during my manicure the lady pulled out paint thinner and the bottle said 'water' on it and added it to my polish right in front of me. My polish was so thin even after two coats I could see through to my nail. My manicure started chipping the very next day and I did't even do any abnormal activity so it should have lasted. I will never go back again and will not recommend to anyone. read more

Terrible experience, showed a clear picture of the nails (literally the length) and they botched it up. In addition, the shapes and lengths on ALL my nails were different! My nails literally look like a kindergartener got a hold of an acrylic set and did arts and crafts on my hands. All in all, would NOT recommend to anyone. I swear I would give this place negative stars if I could. They are scammers and thieves. I dropped my daughter off to get a balance and two nails fixed while i took my son to buy jeans. A full new set of nails on their sign says 32.00 dollars. When she was done and I paid he told me it was 45.00 dollars. I thought I was hearing things. I said, how can that be? A new set is 32. He said they charged extra to cut her nails ( seriously??). They supposedly used an extra special polish that doesn't chip and she made a flower on one nail. Now we've had this done at other places and its maybe 25.00 with a nail fix. They took full advantage that she was younger and was by herself which I had never had happen before. They do a bait and switch. I will be lodging a complaint with the BBB and Easton for that matter as I'm pretty miffed. read more

First of all it is overpriced. Second, for something so overpriced, they do not last at all. I got a full set done on Saturday and by the next Thursday 2 of my nails already broke off because they put it so close to the tip amongst other things. I tend went back for them to fix it that Saturday and they had a million questions, so by the following Monday, 5 other nails broke off as well so that makes 7 total nails out of 10 that went bad. I went back 10 days after getting it done to get it fixed and they literally said I must have done it on purpose (as if I have time to keep on coming to the mall all the way from the east side), they had all these excuses and insulted me in their language I'm sure. They fixed it only those 5 after I told them to just take it all off and start over, they refused of course. 2 days later, 2 other nails from the previous one came off and best believe I will never go back there. They are unwelcoming, unprofessional and terrible. If I could give them negative points I would. STAY FAR AWAY. read more

Whatever you do - DO NOT go to this salon. I have been going there for a couple of months and the work was fine. I go there the day before Thanksgiving and get the worst pink and white nail job I have ever seen. The nails were bumpy and not even at all. Being the day before Thanksgiving I did not have time for them to correct the problem. I go out of town and everyone told me how terrible my nails looked and hoped that I had not paid for that job. I go back to Modern Nail at Easton to have them removed and replaced and all I got was attitude and told by Tran that they do not give money back. I assumed I would be getting another set of nails for my $53.00 I had already paid. Tran goes on to tell me he was not refunding my money and my nailks had been removed- what type of business is this. My message to you is that they will not fix problems but they are more than happy to keep your money. I will be reporting them to the state of Ohio Cosmetology Board because the technicians do NOT have their license displayed on their stations. This is a state law and I have a feeling that not all of them are licensed to begin with. I am in search of finding out who the owner of this salon is.... hopefully it's not Tran. Noone in the place can speak english and understand what you are saying but they understand when you tell them you want your money back! There is no money back guarantee in this place! Horrible experience ever! over priced and not good service. Took them 10 mins to paint my toes and it came out looking not good. I went home and took it off. I have gone to other salons, hair or nail or both, and the eyebrow waxing is around 15 bucks. Since I've gotten my job inside the mall it is easy for me to just pop over there after work or on a break to get a quick wax. The woman there is always nice to me and not once have they burnt me or ripped off my skin. (I've had bad experiences with those cheapo hair salons ripping off my under brow skin) They are always quick to assist me since the waxing is done just behind the counter, nothing fancy. My mother and I plan on getting pedicures there in a couple weeks. I will return with how THAT goes. After reading the reviews I'm skeptical but willing to try it out. We are making an appointment on a Saturday morning so they should be fairly busy. We shall see. read more

Terrible, don't go!! I went in for a pedicure and came out twenty minutes with my toe bleeding, not able to walk and $37 shorter. When I mentioned to the man he cut me he said that had been there, which was just a lie. I am now 5 days out and haven't been able to put on a shoe from my toe still trying to heal. This place is awful and I can't believe they've even lasted so long. I went here to get a gel manicure. They were unorganized and rude (this is standard for nail salons so didn't bother me at first). Everything was outdated and cramped. It felt dirty. The woman filed my nails way down to the point where it looks like I bite my nails. She also didnt shape them at all. They look sloppy and have no edge to them. She didn't get the polish on the entire nail and you can see uneven indentations in the surface. They look like I did them myself after a heavy night of drinking. When I went to check out I pointed all of this stuff out and told them I wasn't happy. They argued telling me it was supposed to be that way. I offered to pay half and they insisted on the full $40 and asked to fix. I told them I didn't have time (day of my bachelorette party) and just wanted a discount. They wouldn't. I was embarrassed because they were yelling at me and each other in a different language and I NEVER complain about this kind of thing or ask for a discount so I just paid and walked out. My experience getting my nails done yesterday was pretty awful. I went in for a mani and my friend went in for a pedi. The guy that did mine nails talked me into this special nail polish that is more shiny, dries instantly, and last 2-3 weeks. At some point he barked at me to put my hand back in the thing that dries this special polish, which startled me since he hadn't said 2 words the whole time. I ended up hitting my nails on the table, messing up 3 of them. He told the girl that was working there to come over and fix it. She told me over and over again how it was going to take forever since I messed them up.Then yelled at me when I set my hand back on the table telling me to be careful and then rolled her eyes at me. After she "fixed" them we paid and left. About 3 hours later 2 nails chipped and 2 had bubbles in them so I went back because this special nail polish was $25 more than the regular kind. They told me to sit down and they started fixing it and after another 30 minutes of silence the guy says, "Sorry you had to drive all the way back. This happened because you ruined your nails before." So he blamed me even though they "fixed" it the first time. Later my friend told me while she was getting her pedi, the lady told her she had really ugly feet! All around a bad experience. I will not be going back. read more

I hate writing bad reviews for places because it is usually only one or two employees that ruin the reputation of a place. I have been here 3 times and have had excellent service from several of the women employees here (waxing,pedis,balances). My last visit however was so terrible! I was set up with one of the male employees who performed the worst acrylic nail balance ever! He used only one tool to complete the balance (which I have never seen someone use less than 3 tools I don't know the correct way to describe them)I had tears in my eyes it hurt so bad I know he knew he wasn't doing what he was supposed to..I have probably had well over 80 balances before and it was never anything close to this. When I flinched and pretty much was about to cry he told me to not move. I almost got up and walked to the front and paid for the service just because I wanted it to end. Not to mention I asked him to cut the nails down twice and he never once did. Also, he didn't shape any of the nails the same and had put on two layers of chunky polish and a top coat in approximately one minute. Also again I left with half the nails chunky, half paper thin, and COMPLETELY uneven on top! Maybe he thought I looked young and dumb and thought he could get away with a balance that took 15-20 minutes. This is four days after this service and I just went and got them removed. It was a horrible experience. But like I mentioned in the beginning one person can ruin the reputation of a place. My other visits where wonderful with two of the other women employees. read more
