Possibly the worst manicure I've had. Where to begin? One, the salon doesn't look clean once you sit down & really look. I suppose I should have just left when the tech pulled a small Dremmel head from a polish stained Altoid box but this was an emergency mani until I could get to my regular manicurist.... I was in Easton and saw that they were open until 9. I went in at 8:15p and I was able to get my nails dipped. The young man seated me immediately and patiently waited on me to choose the color of dip powder. I'm indecisive yet still chose my go to pink color. It was way too many colors to look at and having many choices is stressful. He asked if I wanted my nails cut down and I said no. I like that I can grow my natural nails long. He complimented me on the strength of my nails and said I took good care of them. I got choked on dust particles from my nail polish being drilled off and he was sweet enough to offer me a water and opened it for me; such a gentleman. We didn't talk and that was fine by me. I don't enjoy small talk and I was fine listening to my podcast. He did a great job on my nails and he had soft hands which is a plus when you have to hold someone's hands for an extended amount of time. I came back to get my nails done here with high expectations as I'd previously been here and was very happy with them my nails this time were done poorly the polish was uneven my pedicure had what looked like dirt in the polish after calling they told me that if I came in they would fix them for free when I arrived I sat and waited for 25 minutes only to be told that matte polish is supposed to look the way mine did my nails are spottily polished and lumpy I also had two gems on my nails that fell off 3 days later I will not be coming back and I will be telling other people to avoid this nail salon this is not how you treat customers who paid 161$ for a shitty set of acrylics and a pedi that had contaminates in the polish read more

First to mention I thought the service was great I just had a few stipulations with the business. I asked for the basic pedicure (listed as 40) he told me it would be 55 with gel polish. I was totally fine with that. After the service I tipped him with cash. I gave him my card and he asked me to sign the receipt. I saw that my card was charged $70. I was obviously not happy and asked about the charge. He stated it was because the gel was more expensive. Nothing irritates me more than dishonesty. I told him I was a student in college and have been trying for months to get a pedicure and it feels like he took advantage of me being a student and overcharged me. I have been to Avalon 3 times now and have never left satisfied. I get my nails done very often and this is by far the worst nail salon I have ever been to. It's disappointing because it is in such a great location. I am giving this salon one star because I have had 3 bad experiences in a row. All three times I have been to Avalon I have felt like a major inconvenience to whoever my nail technician is. I feel as though she can not do my nails fast enough to get me out the door. The rushed mentality that all three nail technicians had left my nails poorly done. There is no attention to detail at all. I always get a gel manicure and gel pedicure. There is always parts of my nails left unpainted or smudged. They do not care how your nails look they just want to get you out of there as soon as possible. They also added $20 to my pedicure for gel which I think is super pricey. Overall, I pay around $120 every time I am in and the service and quality I receive is not even close to the price I pay. I am extremely disappointed because I have spent a total of nearly $400 here and have never once received a quality manicure or pedicure. It is really disappointing and I can't say that I will be back or ever recommend this place. With their 2.5 STAR average review I would think that would cause them to maybe change the way they treat and service their customers but I guess they just do not care. After church, I needed to get a pedi and decided to give them a try. I can see after reading the reviews while I'm currently getting my toes done, I totally get it. For the most part, the place is in tip top shape, very clean and beautiful decorum. The only reason why I'm giving two starts is because the finishing product of my pedicures and toe polish was normal to my standards. I asked for a regular spa pedicure which is about $40 and comes with sea scrub, lotion and polish color of my choice. The only thing that I had a problem with is how forceful my tech was. I was asked which pedi I was getting and tried to get me to try the more expensive one. I was like nope and then she proceeded to be completely TOUGH and ROUGH clipping my poor toes. I thought she was gonna break the skin but didn't. The scrubbing was ok but the rushing trying to get me out of the chair is what I had a problem with. Then the color I chose for my toes, she said it's too light. I don't know if she thought because I'm African American that I didn't know what color I needed on my toes but I always get this particular color. It's a light peach/pink color and it looks well with my skin tone. To sum it all up and since I'm not a regular here and glad I'm not, I'll continue going to my regular at Queen Nails down the street from my house. They are closed on Sundays and I had to work Saturday this go round. I'm glad she put at least three coats of polish on. That's the extra star that I put on. There is no question on my mind why this place has a 1.5 star review. I received the deluxe pedicure with regular nailpolish and the an hour later the color was falling right off. I called to ask what could be done all I got was that they do not have any gurantees on regular nailpolish. I am not naive and know the color will not be long lasting, but it had just been an hour. I was very frustrated as they made this my issue, the manager offered for me to return to fix but I was just annoyed at the fact that I had to go back with so many things to do. I had an appointment and still had to wait 30 minutes, they cut the corners of my toenails at an angle causing an ingrown, and my nails have polish on the cuticles and it's not painted evenly. Decided to stop here with two of my close friends for my birthday. It was a Saturday so I understand they're busy, so we put our names down and we're told it would be 30 minutes. ONE HOUR LATER, we still hadn't been taken back. All we wanted was a basic pedicure and my friend wanted a shellac polish change. The nail technician helping my friend match her gel polish to the regular polish on her toes was no help. She chose 4 different colors and he kept coming back saying they no longer had that color. Once we finally got to sit down for our pedicure you had to pay an extra $10 for callus removal and a towel to be wrapped around your legs...a shellac polish change was $35!! A manicure was $40... we ended up spending over 2 hours here for something that should not have taken that long. My toenails aren't shaped well whatsoever. I called this morning because I expected the place to be busy so I wanted to set up an appointment. I was told that they were not accepting appointments only walk-ins. I rush after work to get here only to find out that they are accepting appointments but only to people that know someone... hmm why wasn't I initially told that. I went ahead and signed in with one person ahead of me and was told I could not wait inside, which I understood because of the virus. This is the worst and most unprofessional spa I've been to. DO NOT go here!! My boyfriend and I went here to get just your standard spa pedicure but our nail technicians talked us into getting a milk and honey pedicure which included massage, milk and honey lotion application and callus removal and then I was getting a polish. They sped through both of our services taking a whole maybe 20mins to do them both, they kept walking away from us and just left us sitting there, our massage chairs didn't work, I didn't get a massage NOR did I get the callus removal. After i finally got fed up with the service I was getting I very politely told my technician that she didn't have to polish my nails and that we were just going to go. We go up to pay and my total is over $100 not including a tip.. I told the lady at the front desk that I don't feel I should pay for that being as I wasn't satisfied with my service but that I would still pay for just the standard spa pedicure which is what I originally wanted. The lady called over the manager and she was SO RUDE and said nope, you pay the full amount, we aren't giving you any kind of discount. She wasn't even understanding and wouldn't let me explain at all so I ended up just paying. I later call back to the spa because I wanted to be appropriate and not make a scene in their establishment and talk to her over the phone about getting a refund.. the manager then decided to get nasty with me and start yelling saying she "didn't want people like me in her spa" and "you used the product so you have to pay for it and that's it" and then ended up hanging up on me.
