Modern nails always comes through with great work. Whatever pic I show Steven he is able to recreate the look that I asked for. Booking your appointment through the site is so easy and convenient as well. I will always recommend anyone to come here. read more

Made an appointment online for a pedicure. I was seated on time and about 30 seconds later so was another person. They did her service first. About 20+ minutes later, the water is now quite cold, i asked the person next to me if she had an appointment or if she was a walk in. She commented she was a walk in. Needless to say i got up and walked out. What is the point of making an appointment if it is not honored?! read more

I don't normally leave reviews....but I just love this place. Everyone is very kind and friendly and my nails always look beautiful. I always get a lot of compliments on my nails! Highly recommend Modern Nails & Spa! read more

I had an appointment with Dani today but text reminded was sent at the same time of my appointment so I was going to be late. I called and asked to talk to Dani but was told she was not there. So I explained that I had an appointment but was going to be about 15 minutes late and asked if that was OK. The person on the phone said no. Really....the reminded came from modern nail at the same time of my appointment so there was obviously no way to get there on time. Totally my fault but to be told I could not arrive late was surprising. So I went to Star nail and I am so happy I did. I got exceptional service and exactly what I wanted for an eventful I have this Sunday. I am so happy with the visit today that I will only only go to Star Nail for now on. Thank you to the rude person on the phone that treated my so poorly. You have forever lost my business. read more

LOVE Steven, he does AMAZING. He doesn't rush, makes sure you're okay with everything and overall does a great job. Would most definitely recommend him. read more

Did a walk in, mature man did my nails, no politeness, shoddy job, in and out in maybe 10 minutes. Hand massage was maybe 1 minute for both hands combined, a lot of cuticle skin remains, nails unevenly cut, didn't even clean under my nails. Charged $25 for that? What a joke, not going back. read more

I don't know what all these negative reviews are for because I have always had great experiences here! Everyone is so nice and from what I've experienced, a lot of the CUSTOMERS are just plain rude. Highly recommend and make sure to bring cash to tip, as you can't tip on a card! read more

literally what the fuck, every bad that u could think happened, i asked for a simple cute full set, then they said they could not do design, so then i ask if they could do a french tip they said yes. i had to walk out bc it was just so bad and yet they still charge me full price 60$ fucking dollars. i asked for coffin and he made them rounder then hell im just so mad i could cry. my nails r all different lengths, now after paying 60$ for literally garbage i have to go somewhere else pay to get this shit off. also i asked for a very nude pink for the base and he did clear n was just going to paint over them, dude literally pulled out the brightest pink. like what read more

I went in with pretty, long, nails of my own and I left with short stubby nails. Can't tell you how many times my skin was buffed instead of the nail. Never again. read more

Really unfortunate how downhill this place has gone. The man doing my pedicure didn't even paint the whole nail! I attempted to also get a manicure done but after being passed around to three different people, having to wait as a couple of them went up to manage the front desk, then leaving because I couldn't wait any longer for them, I can say I will not be back. read more

I have been here multiple times to get acrylic nails and each time they mess them up! They always turn out thick, lumpy, uneven and overall not cute! High prices for terrible work. I gave them many chances and each time they turned out terrible. Tipsy nails is way better! If you like the beautiful nails you see on Pinterest or Instagram or beautiful acrylics in general- DO NOT COME HERE! read more

Not the best. The environment isn't in my best interest. It's pretty dark inside and the workers are not very friendly. They don't seem to interact with anyone but each other. The job work is pretty good. However the Acrylic seems to brake very quickly for me. After getting my acrylics done one broke 4 days after. I couldn't go in right away. So I went in about 3 days after the nail broke. She said it looked like I got them done 9 days ago so I would have to pay $5 The lady who did my nails was the same one who was doing the repair. I told her how I remembered her doing them because she was doing it a different way. She didn't care what I had to say and sat there confused for 10 minutes confused. Then she started doing what I was trying to tell her what she did last time. read more

Manicure was rushed. Gel was bumpy and all over my cuticles. She didn't greet us- just pointed to the chair. Overall not good.

I had a pedicure done here with a hot wax treatment. I was very pleased with the service. The massage chair was really nice. The lady who did my pedi was super nice and friendly. Gentle. Took her time. My pedicure was an hour of pure relaxation. She did a great job on the polish. She always checKed on me to make sure nothing was uncomfortable or too hot. My only complaint was the strong chemical odor in the building but otherwise I would come here again. The prices could be a little lower but they are average for the service provided. read more

I've tried this salon twice for pedicures (twice because I insisted on giving them another chance after my first disappointment) and I can't say that I'll ever go back. During my first visit, I got the impression that having walk in was a huge inconvenience for the staff. I asked for a french pedicure but was told I'd have to do a solid color. Only after I took the polish off 2 weeks later did I realize that they did not put a base coat on before the polish and my nails were yellow. My second visit was a bit better only because when I asked for a french pedicure, I was able to get a french pedicure. The next day the polish started peeling from the sides and chipping off - seems this time there was no top coat put on my nails. The prices charged for the services received were just not in line with my expectations. For the money spent, you're better off going elsewhere. read more

Modern Nails & Spa in West Bend was an absolute disgrace in any line of customer service work. As this was my very first time visiting this establishment, upon entering I was not greeted, but looked at with piercing eyes. I immediately sign in, and begin to look for a color. A staff member comes to seat a party of three that was in there before me. Still not acknowledging me. It was 5 minutes after that when a new couple walked in. The wife signed them in and similarly to me, went to look for a nail color as the husband sat. Shortly after the wife finding a color, she was greeted by a staff member and asked their needed services, a girl that was casually sitting waiting for her friend's nails to be finish was asked what she needed done as well, THEN I was finally acknowledged. This same person came back to the front to first seat the couple, (once again, they came in after me and signed in after me, what's the point of having a sign-in sheet if it will not be followed?) saying she'd come get me later. As I was being sat, in fact, right next to the couple from before: I made sure to let her know that I was signed in before that couple, and she never apologized for the disservice, but got defensive when saying that no one has started on their pedicures. I let her know that that defeats the principle and the sign-in process, overall and that I will not be spending my money here. I begin to walk out and hear her unprofessionally telling customers, "I said I was coming back to get her, I told her that." I don't want to think that it was discriminatory (I am a multi-racial woman), but my hard-earned money must not hold the same value as others. read more

My friends/family and I came here for manicure and pedicure before a wedding (with appointment of course). The manager or owner was nice but many of the workers were rude. Some of the workers did a decent job but others did terrible. The work done in the bride-to-be was the worst! It was a simple french and it was very bad done. One of us accidentally damaged the polish in one nail and nobody offered to repair it... a guy came put more polish (very bad applied) and that was it.... and most of us paid 40+ dollars! I'm sorry but I do not recommend this place. read more

Unfriendly. Will not go back. Made both big toe cuticles bleed. Painful, messy, kind of dangerous with danger of infection, etc. Looked like they trimmed my right big toe nail with a chainsaw, had to clip repair when I got home to make it even across the top. $35 for the joy of having toes look worse than before going in. Oh well, costly lesson learned. read more

Walked in with 2 family members for pedicures. We were accommodated relatively fast! However, my daughter's foot was cut during the toenail trim . I was later refunded my money, but will not return here for services. Hopefully my daughter's foot will heal and avoid once tion! read more

This place has horrible customer service! Never again will I go here. There are much better place in west bend to spend your money!

Disappointed with this nail salon. Made an appointment for 5 people for a wedding party. Took other people before all of us. Took a long time to get everything done. Pedicure was average. Lady seemed rushed, probably since there was a few people waiting in the lobby. I don't live around here but if I did I probably wouldn't go back. Although the guy doing my nails was really good and paid attention to detail. I saw two walk ins come in and request him so he must be the best. read more

Sandy and all people at Modern Nails do a great job. I have tried other places for the manicure and pedicure services and none compare to the professional service and fair prices at Modern Nails. If you make an appointment or go during the week you will not have to wait. I have had several people there do my nails over the past years (and currently) and am completely happy with them. The salon is upscale, immaculate and beautiful and the equipment is state of the art. Thank you Modern Nails read more

The technician did a good job on my nails but the receptionist was rude.

I was skeptical because of the reviews but I really liked the acrylic set I got!! I got a French fade, it could have been a little cheaper but it looks amazing. I already scheduled my fill along with a pedicure for 2 weeks from now!! read more

They are using cheap products that don't last. Had a french manicure done on a Friday afternoon, by Saturday my nails were chipped and the top coat was cracking. I went back on Sunday to show them my nails and they said they do not guarantee their work. They said that the chipping use due to hand washing. I've had many french manicures done and they have never looked so horrible after 24 hours. Here is the process the technician used: put top coat on tip, painted tip white, used polish remover to form the tip, then applied 2 coats of top coat. The top coat was garbage. read more

Regarding my experience at Modern Nails in West Bend. I had never had my nails done before but had a gift certificate so I thought I would try. While I was there getting the nails put on the manicurist wasn't feeling well. Not sure if she was sick or just partied too much the night before. She had to stop in the middle to go to the bathroom. Then someone came in to get their eyebrows done. She stopped working on my nails to do this?! really! The actual nails I liked but had decided that the upkeep on them was not for me so I went back to get them removed. I was told I had to soak my hands I guess to loosen the glue and or the gel polish. So about 20-30 minutes later a gentleman come to get me finally my turn. He smells the solution my hands had been soaking in and said this is the wrong stuff. Even had another man (owner?) smell it he too said it was alcohol, I guess it was to be acetone. So I said I have sat here soaking my hands for over 20 minutes in the wrong solution! I was told yes. Oh I said that is 20 plus minutes of my day I can't get back. Then has he is grinding he hits my finger not once but twice!. I go to leave and am told sorry! Sorry for what? that your service sucks? sorry you dont know how to do your job? sorry that my hands still are dry from soaking in alcohol? NEVER will I go back there. read more

My daughter and I started coming to Modern Nails about a year ago. We are very pleased with the service and price. Even on a Saturday the wait time was minimal. PS. Best massage chairs ever! read more

I had the worst pedicure! I am very diappointed in the services there. I sat with my feet in water for 1/2 hr. only to have the pedi take 13 min. She swatted my feet back into the water, she was very rough and in a hurry! just rude! She rinsed my feet with extremenly hot water when I said ouch she made it freezing. I will never go back, plenty of other places where i can go. read more

I love Modern Nails! I've been going there since I had my son 5 years ago and they always remember me and my son even if I haven't been there in 6 months! The owners take such good care of me- always. If I smudge a nail when I leave they'll always fix it the next day for free. read more

First of all I never write reviews but I am so upset by the service I received at Modern Nails I wanted to give everyone a heads up. I went in to get the shellac put on my nails for the first time because I've heard nothing but good things about it. I went to Modern Nails I walked in, wasn't greeted, sat down to receive my service. The girl doing my nails never spoke one word to me just talked to the customer next to me and the other girls she worked with, so I sat there awkwardly. She cut my nails but never filed them so they were completely uneven and not shaped at all. After the paint was on and I left I took a look at them in my car they looked horrible, so I filed them by myself in the parking lot. Two days after I got them done the shellac started to chipping off, I noticed parts of my nails weren't even painted, and four days after I got my nails done the paint just started peeling right off my nails. I would never go back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. I'm so disappointed. So please read the reviews before going. read more

Went in for a fill and the only person who works there that speaks English was getting her nails done. She informed me rudely to take a seat and proceeded to talk about her wedding. Swore the whole time and was incredibly loud. Is there a better, more professional place to get nails done in West Bend???? I actually don't mind the people who do the nails, but the lady is going to ruin their business!! She needs to go or wash her mouth out with soap. read more

I recently got acrylic nails on and within a few days I had warts next to several fingers. I've never had a wart before. Very unhappy!

Although the owner was friendly and seemed happy that I was there, I couldn't have felt more like a "number" rather than a customer. I had a regular pedicure and manicure. The girl who did both services was texting on her phone the entire time. I arrived at the store a little after 4:00, and they closed at 5:00. She made it VERY clear that I was her last customer because she had a concert to attend that night and WOULD NOT be late. She also made it clear that she needed to have time to do her own nails before she left for the concert. She rushed through both the pedicure and the manicure. After I had paid, and my nails were drying (but I was still sitting at the manicure table), the girl who provided my services--the worker-- proceeded to start giving herself a manicure...right in front of me! Talk about rude service. I was upset when I left, and two days later, I'm still upset. The very next day, three of my nails chipped! I have never had this happen after a manicure before. Now, two days later, almost all of my fingernails have chipped and two of my toenails have chipped. I will NEVER return to Mondern Nails. I would rather drive to Milwaukee to get the products and services I pay for. read more

I tried this Salon twice for pedicures using solid colors and I had no problems. I thought I would give them a try doing a French manicure. When I was done I noticed that I had white markings on 4 of my nails on left hand. I went back in and explained to them that I have never seen that before. They proceeded to tell me that it was in my nail bed. I explained again that I had this done at another place and white marks did not show up. It seemed like a big inconvenience for them to redo the nails. I had another girl redo and she took a nail polisher and polished the white marks off. I could tell that she was not pleased. She did them really fast and i still have lacquer on my skin where she didn't clean up very neatly. I even have a few of my nails that I have to smooth over as they would get caught on my clothes. I was disappointed in the quality of service and they charged $10 more than my other nail salon that I have been to before so I don't think I will be going back. HTH read more
