The stairs also had to correct a serious water runoff issue. The work was exceptional. The Mottern team knew what they were doing and finished on schedule. We are so over the top pleased with the business exchanges we've had with the owner, Jeff Mottern,…read moreas well as with his office manager and the entire crew. Our slate walk was replaced four years ago by Mottern and the crew. Our porch did not match the vibrancy of the walk that Mottern put down. That had been done a good 25 years ago by another company. It was a flat gray, and it was fading and developing unsightly pivots, it was not attractive. Jeff came over to access something on the walk, because he really does honor his five year warranty, and we started talking about the porch rehab, and from there the magic began. As you can see Jeff ordered the same bluestone slates that were used on the walk. Now the porch matches the walk and entire area glows with a new vibrancy that thrills me every time I look at it. On dealing with the company. Jeff is the most responsive company owner I have ever dealt with. Honestly, email him, and the next second he is responding. A totally rare and unparalleled quality in a company today. He is friendly, listens to what the customer is saying, and uses his years of experience and design skill to come up with the perfect plan to execute what the customer has in mind. The Crew: I can't say enough about the crew. They always arrive with a smile and good cheer, a commitment to focusing on the project as if it were their own home. The commitment to detail is astonishing. Each crew member has the skill set to execute the project to perfection, even throwing in some well received advice that the customer might not have thought about. Most of the crew has been with Jeff for years. Some for over 20 years. They are savvy, honest and keep the work site clean and tidy at the end of each day. I enjoyed peeking outside to watch their progress. They were able to install our new porch without damaging our existing siding or the support columns. This left us with no repair work! That was a bonus! A footnote here: Four years ago when we did our front walk, we also had Mottern provide us a back patio. Jeff designed it with creative curves and appeal, instead of a simple square design. We used the stamped concrete method on the patio, which is still beautiful and we use it every day!!! The stamped concrete was made to mimic slate. Mottern can also mimic brick, but we wanted to reflect the front walk.

His guys even found a way to reused some of the removed boards to fix some spots in a way that really hid the repairs. His communication was good and timely. I would definitely use him again.

Teri was easy to work with, she listened to what I wanted, kept me informed as the project/s progressed. Costs were competitive for companies that are licensed and insured to do the work. HD Exteriors has been the best experience I have had with any patio/porch/deck company ever! Over the course of 3 homes, this is the fifth time doing a major exterior project. Each time I tried a different route of getting the project completed. Working with HD Exteriors has been the most rewarding and satisfying. They get an A++ for service, quality, cost, and just plain being human! I trust them whole-heartedly to do any future work on my house. In fact, I have already made plans for additional projects in my back yard and will be using them for all of them. My father is a tough critic and hard to impress. He is an excellent gauge that I use when making decisions. In this case, even he was extremely happy FROM THE BEGINNING with the work and experience! I just can't say enough great things about the company, the workers, and especially the main team I worked with for this effort: Graham Sr., Graham Jr., Tom, Edwin, Diane, Beth, and Kim. If you want a WIN-WIN situation, then I suggest you go with HD Exteriors! It began with me having ideas of what I wanted added to the back of my house. I had contacted many companies to get ideas, suggestions, and estimates. Out of all the companies that came out, HD Exteriors had the best of all worlds! Graham Jr., the owner's son, came over to look at the space, make suggestions, and give an estimate. Working with him was the most pleasant experience in customer service I have ever had. That was the beginning of me realizing HD Exteriors is what I wanted out of partnering with a business to complete a project. For this work, I went with a patio, deck and covered and screened porch. Graham Sr., the owner, was the next step in making the design a reality and crunching the final numbers. In fact, if it wasn't for him, my project would have been average in terms of detail and looks. But he made a stellar design, incorporated my wants, and still was able to bring the price point down to something that worked for me and him. In fact, he was the lowest quote I had received! His work also included a warranty that was longer than the others and he was going to make sure we are happy at the end of the project. When the work began, the crews that came out for the work also were very pleasant and easy to work with. Tom, the project manager, and Edwin, the supervisor, were great to talk to and helped in making things happen. They were on site as needed. The crews were professional and knew what they were doing. When the work was completed, I couldn't believe what I had on the back of my house! The completed patio, deck and porch turned out to be the best design in my neighborhood! My family could wait to start using the new space. Everyone was so happy. Neighbors were stopping through just tell me how wonderful the completed project looks and that they want something like that. I'm still in awe on how it turned out. It was natural and classy at the same time. It was PERFECT! I worked with Diane, Beth, and Kim throughout the whole process. They are in the HD Exteriors office and assist with the logistics, scheduling, payment, and closing out the project. It was an awesome operation as a whole. As said before, it's a WIN-WIN! My family couldn't be happier, and we look forward to future rewarding experiences and projects with HD Exteriors!
