I've been to Dr. Rogers twice now after a long wait to get in as a new patient, part my fault as my insurance changed and I had to reschedule, but the initial wait was a few months out. I've got a lot going on with my skin and as I approach my 30's I knew I needed to focus a little more than my self-help routine. The first visit was quick, she just refilled a prescription I had been on for a while and gave me some pointers. 3 months later I came back and she examined my face without makeup and gave me a few samples to try and a prescription. The script I had filled is extremely expensive but I'm hoping it delivers results. This is definitely a pricier office than most I have been to in the last few years but I feel like she understands what I want and will guide me in the right direction. Dr. Heather Rogers is AMAZING!!! She always takes the time to listen to my concerns, then addresses & treats effectively!!! Her clinical expertise is beyond impressive & she is kind & fun to interact with!!! I have been going to MD for about 5 years and am very happy with my care & the results (medical & cosmetic)!!! Most recently I saw her for botox, & during that visit she ALSO noticed a couple of areas of skin irritation on my face & took the extra time to suggest how to minimize irritation/redness using over the counter products (& her RESTORE ointment works wonders!)!!! I had a skin cancer on my face and needed a Mohs surgeon. I had heard through the grapevine that Dr. Rogers was "the one you wanted" when it came to Mohs surgery. So I checked out her very impressive credentials and called Modern Dermatology. Turns out their practice was doing a limited number of surgeries despite the COVID-19 pandemic and I was fortunate to get on the schedule. Dr. Rogers was very personable and was the consummate surgeon: quick, sure, and with excellent results. She went out of her way to make sure that the scar will be in the "smile line" and I have to say that even when the stitches were still in it was such a perfect closure that I can't imagine I'll have a noticeable scar. As potential new patient, I decided against them because the front desk was rude on the phone. She needs insurance information right when she answers the phone and instead of letting me ask a question about the practice, she cut me off and told me to just call back when I have my card. I'm making sure the doctors are aware of the tone there since every interaction prior to seeing the doctor defines that practice. I have great insurance coverage and I could also pay cash if need be. There is a way to get that information without being insulting. read more

I had to leave their practice. As a long term patient, I expected to be seen when a skin issue appeared. I have a history of Basel cell carcinoma, and was worried about a few bumps. When I called for an appointment, in mid-September, I was told that I couldn't see her until April! I asked if they set aside a few appointments weekly for established patients, and the receptionist said "No." I felt disappointed and confused. I decided it may be time to look for another doctor, so I made an appointment. This doctor got me in right away, and was great. Unlike the location at Modern, it was easy to find parking. She looked at my bumps and said that both were Basel Cell. She burned them off. I will now go to this doctor. read more

I have seen Dr. Rogers twice, and I'm very impressed. I am the daughter of a PhD and an M.D. and have been around many serious medical professionals my whole life. She's in that league! After an extreme diet change, made for medical reasons, my skin went absolutely berserk. Hello adult acne! The best experience I have ever had at a Dermatologist. Dr. Collyer was referred to me by several friends. I couldn't have been more pleased with my first visit. It was the first time I have been to a dermatologist without being recommended to purchase hundreds of dollars of product they conveniently carry, rather, Dr. Collyer suggested 2 creams that my insurance would cover. I have tried to schedule an appointment twice now but I changed my mind because of the rude staff. The first available appointment is for 6 months from now and honestly that's not my issue here. The issue is the tone of the receptionists and their manner. It's as if they are super important and somehow own you. I don't think anyone wants to deal with that kind of attitude. Dr. Rogers is amazing. I have been seeing her for over 5 years now, and have seen such a change in my skin. Not only is she great for mole removal and cancer screening, but she also recommended a great skin regimen that has made a huge difference. I had the pleasure of seeing both Dr. Collyer (for a skin check and biopsy of what turned out to be a melanoma) and Dr. Rogers (for an excision surgery) and felt extremely comfortable and taken care of by two doctors who are undoubtedly the best at what they do. Their expertise, efficiency and follow-through are top notch and definitely separate their clinic from any other I've experienced. Cancer is never a fun thing to deal with, but these two doctors made my experience so much more bearable because they were always available and truly cared. I can't thank them enough. The nurses and medical assistants are experts in their own right and make you feel just as comfortable as the two doctors. I am positively delighted with the results by Dr. Collyer for a stubborn blemish on my nose I've had for years. He was a lot more thorough in treatment compared to a former dermatologist whom never fully got rid of the issue and was in a rush. As of now, about a little over a month later (didn't get around to posting this review until now!), my nose has healed wonderfully and the blemish is completely gone. No scarring, no redness. I no longer require makeup to cover it, which is a first in years. It's such a relief not to feel insecure in public anymore. Excellent doctor! Also, very stylish and modern clinic. When I called to make an appointment I asked if they could do a mole check as it was covered by my insurance. They said yes and booked the appointment. I even talked to the Dr. about the mole check being covered by my insurance. I got a HUGE bill and when I called about it the billing manager, Trisha, said they do not do any preventative insurance codes. The Dr. did do a mole check while I was in the office but they will not bill insurance for it as they are "specialists". She said they will not do anything about this when I asked if they could change the code. I suggested they inform people when they make appointments and she was not helpful or proactive. Basically had no other option than to pay the HUGE bill. Don't go to these folks for mole checks. read more

This place is pretty cool. It has a great atmosphere when you walk in. I saw Dr. James Collyer and he was fantastic! He recognized my issues immediately, listened to my pervious treatments I have done, and worked with me from there. The RN was really nice too and she had her own advice as well. Let me say that from my experience MODERN DERMATOLOGY was by far the best care in a medical practice I have experienced. First off the Clinic is gorgeous, and the entire staff, from the checking in process, to the nurses, and Dr.Collyer, I found personable, knowledgeable and very professional. While the doctors and estheticians here are great, beware when you have to actually pay your bill. I called to pay my account balance in full and was told one amount. Fast forward a few months later and I am getting late statement bills for an additional amount "that was just incorrectly told to me" when I paid the first time, and that person in the billing department was "just a receptionist." I had the exact same experience as KB, who posted a review on 1/26/18. Since moving to Seattle I have scheduled appointments for my husband, my daughter and myself at several medical practices, both to establish care and to deal with specialist issues. This is the only practice that wouldn't even talk to me without my insurance card. I get (per the practice manager's response) that insurance companies live to make the lives of both insurers and consumers more difficult. From a customer service perspective, the correct procedure is to make the appointment and accept a further phone call or email with insurance information. This was good enough for other practices whose appointments run up to three months out. The kicker about all of this? It's not like insurance covers injectables or cosmetic lasers. I will gladly waltz my cash to another practice to avoid dealing with this front office. read more

Modern Dermatology provides an excellence in care you won't find ANYWHERE else. Yes, it takes a long time to get an appointment but that is for a reason...ALL three physicians are beyond incredible. They are knowledgeable, experienced and at the forefront of the dermatology profession (surgical, medical and cosmetics). I have personally been a patient of Dr. Rogers, Dr. Collyer and Dr. Roman. They are efficient, compassionate and I have always felt that they take the time to go through my treatment options and explain the pathology of the diagnoses they make. They constantly change and update their products as new research and healthier or cost effective options are available. I have sent multiple family members here because I know they will be taken care of. Also, Maren the aesthetician is the BEST aesthetician I have seen. My skin has never felt better after my facial and you can tell she loves what she does. The practice manager Lisa, Hanna and the front desk ladies work so hard to get patients appointments and always help me find the products I need. Amazing! Dr. Collyer is great. I came in for vein therapy and a mole removal. The vein therapy didn't take as well as I had hoped but it was in no way his fault, I figured I would need more than one session of it. The mole removal looks amazing, you can't tell I even had one there. And that alone would keep me coming back for any dermatology needs. While I was there I voiced how some issues on my face bothered me, Dr Collyer took the time to explain what he could do, the costs, and the downtime, I scheduled ASAP! I went in this past week for fillers, I'm over forty, I'm not vain but when you look in the mirror and see Droopy dog you kinda want to start feeling a bit less cartoon like and a lot more lady like! The results are insanely beautiful. My bruising was minimal, swelling minimal, and you can't tell I even had the injections. I look fifteen years younger thanks to him. I would recommend them to anyone needing this sort of work and services done. You get what you pay for but you are definitely not overcharged. The office staff is friendly and helpful, and the office itself is clean and welcoming without too much this and that hung on walls or fake flowers everywhere. I have been a patient of Dr. Collyer's for almost 10 years and I could not recommend him more! I see him mostly for cancer prevention/mole screening but I also see him for the occasional cosmetic upgrade. I have younger skin so most of the time he just recommends tweaks in my regime. He never tries to sell me on expensive products, procedures or anything I don't need. He is so knowledgable and friendly! I truly trust his opinion and his staff. His new practice is absolutely beautiful, so clean and inviting. The front desk gals are always nice and helpful, and before I am due for a yearly check up they send me an e-mail to call and schedule. Dr. Collyer is great at what he does, so he does book up fast but I've never had an issue with scheduling an appointment. I am getting married soon so I asked Dr. Collyer for recommendations and he referred me to their aesthetician who does facials, I'm looking forward to meeting with her! read more

I went in for a skin screening after my dad had melanoma - a routine that is recommended if a family member has had a diagnosis. I was not impressed with the services - the dermatologist was curt and didn't show any empathy or try to make me feel comfortable. It felt like she was just going through the motions.
