VKB Kitchen & Bath - Hall Bath

Overall, the…read morequality, workmanship, and attention to details were highly evident throughout the entire project. The project manager, Jason, was on site every 2-3 days to ensure the work was proceeding as discussed. He was easily reachable by phone during the entire project. VKB was able to place 2 teams on site which allowed the work to be completed in 4.5 weeks instead of 6-7 weeks which would have been normal. The team lead on site, Walter, was easy to talk to and was very knowledgeable on all aspects of the project (demolition, prep, electrical, plumbing, fixtures, paint, etc.). He has an excellent team of workers that rotated across the various tasks in each bathroom. My wife and I were very pleased at the finished results. Everything came together very nicely. We would highly recommend VKB for your bathroom remodeling. With that said, I offer a few suggestions for potential clients to consider. Customers should make sure they know exactly what they want to do. While change orders can be made after the project is started, it costs more than if the project scope was defined from the beginning. Also, I recommend looking at www.build.com to pre-select the fixtures that are needed prior to scheduling the meeting with the designer. Trying to select all the fixtures for the bathroom within 60-90 minutes in the showroom can be challenging.

In 2014, the previous owners of our home hired a company to renovate the fireplace, and VKB…read moreKitchens & Bath installed the fireplace as a subcontractor. We purchased the home in 2019. Following a devastating house fire that displaced our family, our homeowners insurance company informed us that its investigation determined that issues related to the fireplace installation were the cause of the fire. We were also informed by the fire investigator that the fireplace renovation had been completed without the required county permit. Had the proper permitting process been followed, the work may have been subject to county inspection before completion, potentially providing an opportunity for installation issues to be identified. The fire caused extensive damage to our home, which is expected to take approximately 12 months to rebuild. Beyond the financial impact, being displaced from our home and dealing with the aftermath has taken an enormous physical and emotional toll on our family. Based on our experience and the information provided to us following the fire, I cannot recommend this company. If you are considering a home renovation, I strongly encourage you to research everyone involved in the project, verify that all required permits are obtained, and confirm that required inspections are completed. A renovation should improve your home, not put your family's safety at risk or turn your life upside down for years.

I recently had my bathrooms fully gutted for renovation and after an extensive search I was able to…read moresource just the right tiles for my budget and aesthetic sweet spot from The Tile Shop in Columbia, MD, ...who knew??? Throughout the nail biting process was my personal concierge Sal, who expertly navigated my way throughout a sea of choices and nerve racking considerations with the competence, patience, and follow through I rarely find in today's retail environment. Sal ensured my tiles were in sync with my contractor's timeline and my personal specifications as if it was his own project and always greeted me with a cheerful disposition and "white glove service", no matter how many times I visited "the salon" - this is why I jokingly call him, "my concierge". And not only that, every time I was in his shop, I witnessed he consistently gave a great level of care to all the clientele that entered or he personally serviced. Derrick, Mark, and the lead warehouse manager were also wonderful to work with and each of them, in their own way, made my experience a great one and the outcome is two beautiful bathrooms me and my guest will enjoy for years to come! Kudos to Sal and his team at The Tile Shop in Columbia, MD for all your help! If your in the process of renovating or refreshing your space, consider paying Sal and company a visit! With a nice selection of styles and service at competitive prices, what you didn't know you were looking for just might be in your backyard!

Within one year of spending nearly $8,000 on new kitchen appliances, our range hood made a noise like someone sawing through logs and the oven\microwave unit completely died. In the interest of brevity, I will just address the oven unit. We filed a claim through warranty and from beginning to end it took FOUR MONTHS to solve the problem. Bray and Scarff kept sending out the same technician who would get on an iPad and look up the manual and decide he was missing parts. This happened multiple times until my husband used AI and printed out EXACTLY what was wrong and showed it to the technician. He ignored him and it took two more visits and a call to corporate to finally get it fixed. Now, about 14 months later we are having THE SAME EXACT ISSUE with the appliance. I called today and was told that after a year the Bray and Scarff warranty company deletes ALL previous service issues after a year, so we are starting from scratch. And the "corporate" woman who assured us that should we EVER have a problem again with the appliance to contact her directly told us today that the warranty "changed their policy" and she can't help us (Hollie Sweeney, sorry, we saved ALL the emails). I don't know how this story is going to end but I can guess. Do not purchase anything from this company and definitely DO NOT purchase any warranties. We were pushed into it by our salesman at the Columbia location. This company should be sued in a class action law suit.
