I can't express enough gratitude to this exceptional, completely customer service oriented place of business! It started when I called to schedule an appointment yesterday and they got me in next day. PERFECT! I explained to them there was a third party responsible for payment and neither of us thought anything of it. Today my truck was to arrive between 8:30-9am and was to be finished by 6 but instead it was not able to get there till 2pm. Dan assured me it was no problem and it would still be done by 6. COMPLETELY ACCOMODATING! The job was done quickly and efficiently before 6 which was INCREDIBLE! Aside from Dan's efficiency, the place showed incredible patience and professionalism when the third party began to flake out on their responsibility to pay. Dan withstood complete and utter incompetence from an unprofessional business and immoral and unethical behavior, along with run-around games and being hung up on. Even after dealing with their nonsense for hours, he stayed on the phone with me while I was on another line with the dealership who was attempting to scam us both right until they were minutes away from closing time. P.S. Dan and I got all the necessary documents and finalized payment after he stayed on the phone with me for nearly 45 minutes at the end of his work day. A HUGE THANK YOU to Dan and Model Electronics! I would recommend this place to EVERYONE & ANYONE looking for a PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, PERSONABLE experience. As someone who works in the customer service field I know there's not many people to people businesses around anymore and it's a shame. I waited awhile to post this. Recently relocated from Queens, NY to Hawthorne, New Jersey. Searched online for a decent auto accessory shop. In my 05' Chevy Tahoe my Viper auto alarm/remote start wasn't responding, of course it would happen after its year warranty (1yr. 2 months.)from the shop that installed it in NYC. Going on my search I find Model Electronics, lots of good reviews so I made an appt. I was not disappointed! Dan and Andy were very helpful. Not only did they diagnose the issue, took the remote and sent it back to Viper. I have a Pioneer NEX radio system w/ Apple Carplay. Owned this radio over 3 yrs and didn't know how to get Apple Carplay up and running. Even the shop I got it from was no help and it was the reason I chose this system. Andy did his thing and there was Apple Carplay active in my radio. Soon after (about 3 weeks) I took my wifes 2011 Hyundai Sonata for a radio upgrade and was very happy that the wife was Extremely happy with the end result. Kudos guys! I was referred to Model Electronics by Fette Ford Service Dept. Just purchased a 2015 Ford Expedition and discovered that the truck does not have daytime running lights, an option that almost every other truck manufacturer now has as a standard feature. Met with Andy first who came out to look at the options we had regarding DRL's. The new truck comes with LED fog lights which are very bright and could serve as the DRL's. But they would have to be turned on manually every time you drive. Dan took a look at the truck and suggested that we wire the fog lights to become the DRL's and retrofit the headlights to HID so the light intensity is balanced out. My Escalade is a family vehicle, I didn't want an embarrasing flashy sub cabinet sitting in the back of the truck. I wanted the inside of my truck to be altered as little as possible. Andy was amazing. My new system is completely hidden. A 10" sub was installed under the center console, and two amps were recessed behind a trim panel in the back of the truck. They explained how a computer was then used to balance the sound field of the new system to the specifics of the truck. The interior looks exactly the same as it did when I brought it in. In closing Andy gave me a thumb drive with pictures of the installation, so I could see what a neat job they did. What a huge improvement. Several days ago I had Model diagnose a problem with my radio, no reception. Andy discussed my options and I chose to replace the radio with an upgraded model. When I made the first appointment I was told of the diagnosis charge which I agreed to and Andy waived as a courtesy. The radio was to be replaced this morning, giving myself an early Christmas gift, soon after the technician pulled my car into the garage Andy told me that there was nothing wrong with the radio, the problem was in the antenna line which they fixed and now the radio works great. I highly commend Andy and the technicians for their honesty and integrity as well as professional workmanship and will recommend Model to my friends and to you as well. . read more

From the moment Andy answered the phone on my first phone call, through 'til we had a new radio installed to access Sirius, I knew we were going to have a great experience. Andy is exceptional in all he does, makes the customer feel very at ease, explains the entire process, has a lot of patience for questions and assistance one may feel they need. Above and beyond my expectations is my experience with George the technician at Model...I had a anti hijacking alarm installed at Model to my satisfaction. George has been, very, instrumental in problem solving issues that several, reputable, Acura dealers were unable to solve. On one occasion he traveled to the dealer--on his own time--and got my car started after they were unable to. George was also able to troubleshoot a dealer accessory, after they were, again, unable to solve it. I want to give a special mention to Dave and Dan in the office... they just don't make people like this anymore... love this place to death... especially the waiting room... lol... read more

This is my first YELP review ever for any product or place of business. I had to write this because it's extremely rare for me that an experience with a company goes almost perfectly, and in this case w Model it did. I bought in my 85 Grand Wagoneer for a new audio system and not only did they suggest a few things that other places did not, they went above and beyond and fixed many of the electrical issues I was having that had nothing to do w the new audio system. If you are looking for somewhere to get your remote starter and keyless entry system done, Model Electronics is the place to go! They are the best, i dropped my Volvo off and it was done in less than a day. You cant even tell someone was in the car wiring the system. Clean install, great communication, and friendly people. The system works great and i am more than happy to have got it done here! Found Model Electronics through the internet, and they had the cleanest website, so i chose them! I brought in a Landrover with a crazy stereo request...it was an older car that I wanted to retrofit a factory navigation unit (optional but not in my truck) along with fitting in a bluetooth handsfree kit for a telephone and an xm radio. I had printed out a 10 page post from online as to how to wire this up and it looked complicated but they said no problem. Even trying to exlain what I wanted to have installed sounded complicated but they nailed it. Looks like it came from the factory and it took some modifications...nice work and I will use again and tell my friends! read more

Parking with Jeep Wrangler has limited visibility and issues of its own. Andy and Dan were great and my Jeep was in the best of hands. Andy was great at answering all of my questions and explaining all of the pros and cons as they related to the available options. Had a problem with another shops' install of my Subaru after market radio. Went to Subaru for a partial correction then to Model Electronics for a final and 100% complete correction. However I could have saved trips going to Model first. Dave and the crew assessed the problem and in a blink of the eye made the correction. No hassling. Worked with me. I have been to Model's twice this year. The first visit was to purchase a replacement remote stater fob for my truck. Not only was the price way lower than I expected, the service was superb.
