First I am going to review my approach of the business. The outside of the building need a lot of maintenance, and cleaning. Spiderwebs were all over the building and the light fixtures. It's in desperate need of a power washing. Even the windows inside and out there are spider webs in the windows. These are not small spiders, but big ones. Whoever owns this building or buildings needs to maintain it. The employees needs to keep it clean inside. This is a great place and needs to be kept up. Customers will not come to a place where employees to not take pride in their place of employment Now when entering in you can choose two different t side pizzas. The kids or the mod. You can choose whatever kind sauce cheese and toppings. Plus you can have as many toppings as you want! Artichokes jalapeño peppers diced or sliced tomatoes, olives herbs salami sausage chicken the list goes on and on. They will pop it in the oven to cook While waiting for our pizzas we had an awkward moment where two employees were being rude to one another. It was very uncomfortable because it was out in the open. We got out pizzas and eat outside since it was nice outside. Tables outside were dirty or covered with spider webs but we managed to find one to sit at. The pizza I had was amazing. The Napoleon style pizza appeared very light and not filling. It seems like the owner sat down and tried to figure out how few ingredients he could put on the pie and get away with it. Went there twice. First time, the place was filthy. Floors were dirty and bathrooms smelled like urine. We said something to manager. Went back, since we live nearby and the pizza is quite tasty. We were hoping the first visit was just a fluke, but clearly the restaurant is just dirty. It is on a main thoroughfare, and serves as a poor example for all establishments on the strip. I guess this store is part of a system where irresponsible kids are running the show and management is poor. Normally love this place. Always a favorite stop driving between VIrginia and New York. Stopped in for dinner -- rushed to get there before they "closed". Got there 6 minutes before they 'closed' -- doors were already locked, chairs up. Employees saw us walk up to the door and gave us the 'nope' signal. No conversation, no apology. We typically love Mod Pizza but ... today was not pleasant. One of the pizza makers was obviously very unhappy. Yes it was busy but that is no excuse to let the customer feel like a burden. Secondly, the oven guy was handling the cash register and then handling the pizza. No Gloves. It was very obvious that the team didn't mesh well. Good product but management could do better. I visited the Hummels Warf PA MOD Pizza for the first time today. I heard about it on one of my vegan face book sites. They commented about all the toppings and the fact that they have vegan cheese, which NO pizza place around this area has....Being vegan myself, I WAS IMPRESSED!!! The trash was pretty full but that was probably the result of how busy they were. The place was clean otherwise. The pizza creator acted like she had been there all day. Really tired. My boyfriend and I absolutely love this place! All of the employees are always so friendly and quick. We come here practically every weekend and between the customer service and quality of the food, MOD Pizza is unbeatable in our book. Even though it's a chain, the food far surpasses any pizza place in the area. And don't even get me started on the cost - as many toppings as you want for one flat rate?! My wife and I where in there on Monday the 30th of December and when I got there I asked for a gluten free crust and dairy free cheese the girl behind the counter didnt not change her gloves from the order in front of us and when I ask her to change then she rolled her eyes nd was kinda snobby about it. After we got out pizza it was burnt nd falling apart.. I asked to speak to the manger and when the manger came out I believe her name was rebecca or something like that she was rude and when I asked for our money back she said they can only remake it and I didnt want to wait or deal with that again. And after a few minutes she finally refunded it and we left. There was no apology or anything and as we walked out the door the same lady and other employees started laughing.. I have eaten there on multiple occasions. My last visit was just that. MY LAST. Maybe because it was not so crowded that I got a chance to watch as my pizza was created. Two employees on a smoke break near the store dumpster walked back into the store after their break, picked up dirty trays from the waste receptacle and then proceeded to go to work without washing their hands. One guy start handling and pressing dough with no gloves on. The other guy manned the finishing station without gloves. He also has a 5 inch scruffy beard without any netting. I have a short trimmed beard and I am painfully aware of how a beard can shed dry skin from underneath. Cook was alternating between check on pizza in oven and texting on phone. Look up the percentage of cell phones that have fecal bacteria on them. Disgusting. I would have complained to the manager, but he was the cook. I was grossed out.
