I've been here two times, and it's so amazing! The pizza is baked in a big pizza oven that keeps the place smelling like heaven. MOD Pizza is basically subway, but it's for pizza. You can customize a pizza/add any toppings to any of their pizza options, and it won't effect the cost. You're really only paying for the drinks/sides & the size of your pizza. I've been here twice and both times received a great tasting and perfectly cooked pizza. The first time I visited on a Friday night and the staff was super friendly and energetic. The second time I visited was on a Saturday night and this time the staff were still friendly but all of them looked like they hated their job and were moving around like they were about to come off an 18 hour shift even though it was only 6pm. In my second visit I tried the online ordering system with a delayed pick up. My pizza was accurate and came out of the oven exactly when I requested. This place is a must try! read more

Walked in to find a group of kids behind the counter ignoring customers. Five out of six of them weren't wearing their masks over their noses. One had his on his chin and another didn't have one at all. I asked them to fix their masks, but they couldn't fathom what I meant. In addition, their pizza is very hit and miss. We mostly order online but the results are always worse than in person: ask for extra pepperoni and sometimes you'll get it, and a lot if times one of the pizzas will be a little burned. I was excited to try this as I have friends in other cities that rave about MOD. This was nothing at all like they had described to me which leads me to believe it's specifically this location that's problematic. The process is streamlined but the guys assembling the pizza and salad, all were picked off the menu, didn't know what was supposed to be on them so I had to look at the menu and tell him what was to be put on the pizza. At check out I had to tell the cashier what we ordered and then remind her I needed cups. The pizza didn't have good flavors. The red sauce was acidic and thin, the white sauce tasted cheap and was an unusual almost foamy consistency. The crusts were super thin but soggy immediately (dined in), drooping, and pale white with very little flavor. The remainder of the cheese on a red sauce slice would slide off the pizza with each bite on every piece and the pizza was excessively greasy. On this trip I overheard them tell the people in front of us they didn't have tomatoes for the pizzas but they did come in my Greek salad. The salad dressing has good flavor, but overall the salad was over priced for the poor quality of white and brown lettuce that comes in it and what are seemingly bagged pre-made croutons. It's also hard to overlook the messy and sticky tables and floors in the dining area and visible areas of kitchen floor that have piles of food and trash. The best thing about the experience is a berry lemonade they have which will wash down the food you'll buy somewhere else because you'll leave hungry like we and a few other patrons that were grumbling about in the parking lot. read more

First time going and it was cool...been to a similar restaurant so I knew what to expect. You go down the line choosing whatever toppings you want on your pizza. Any topping, as much as you want for around $9. They work very fast, plenty of seats inside with a few tables outside. It's a cool, modern place to eat with family and friends. I didn't like how stingy they are with the toppings. You can ask for more if they short you but they only add just a tad bit more. I'll be honest-it was a little underwhelming. I gave this place a shot despite the complaints of a patron who walked out complaining of "still being hungry." I believe in giving everyone two chances and the place wasn't too busy at lunch so I gambled on them wowing me with one of their signature pizzas. I ordered a Jasper (sauce, Italian sausage, cheese, mushrooms) with a soda and waited almost no time at all. Unfortunately, it also tasted like it was hastily put together and the crust had this pita bread type of texture to it. It felt like a Mediterranean/Italian fusion mix and I was not impressed at all. The sauce was a little thin, the cheese was sparsely applied and the toppings didn't look cooked all the way. This is how pizza should be done. My first visit to MOD Pizza was better than I expected. Do not let the long line deter you from trying this restaurant. The staff is fast and friendly and they move the line very quickly. The pizza is the reason for the visit and it is very good. The size of the pizza is just big enough to fill up an adult male. I actually found myself wanting one more slice. They have pizza combinations from the menu ready for you to try or you can just wing it and build your own. I was really happy with our meal at MOD Pizza. We got there early on a Sunday night, around 5:45, so it wasn't crazy busy. We placed our orders and chose our toppings, paid and waited only a short time for our food. I like this concept. As someone with food allergies, this makes my life a little easier. No sauce? No problem. I like that I could get a mini thin crust pizza, my way, and it was the perfect serving size. I wasn't tempted to over eat, and I didn't have to worry about taking leftovers home. Decided to give this place a try even though we are not really fans of this concept. Got there around 8 or so and it was pretty busy, but they were working hard and getting people's orders in a pretty timely manner. I decided to get the "tristan" pizza... With white sauce, as well as a small caeser salad. My husband got a pepperoni pizza, he also ordered a side of bread sticks. Got the blackberry lemonade.... Soooo good! The regular lemonade tastes like the Chick-fil-A lemonade.... Yum! Food came pretty quick...so that was nice, but was a bit disappointed in the pizza... The crust was crazy weird... It's soft... Almost like a burrito... Or bread.... Not crunchy like a thin crust would be.... Maybe because they use a pizza press instead of hand tossing the pizza, or maybe its just their dough recipe... The salad was pretty good and we enjoyed the garlic bread ( different dough recipe)... Overall I would go here over your pie...but only because they make their salads to order and the lemonade was awesome. Work on the dough guys... Pretty cool business idea. Was a bit busy for an early Sunday afternoon but it did not take much time to receive my food. I was excited to see so many vegetarian options and I enjoyed being able to create my own pizza. Would recommend to any pizza lover. Facility is clean. Pizza was ok - if you want thin crust you might enjoy it because that's all you're getting here. Definitely save your money and pass on the "strips." The guy that made my pizza was friendly but the lack of organization behind the counter makes efficiency non existent. There was definitely enough people working but it seemed that no one was dedicated to their role and communication was poor so it made the experience confusing for me since it was my first visit. Terribly disappointing. Not much better than frozen, store bought pizza. First of all, the acoustics are terrible you can't hear any of the employees from across the counter area. The first person in the assembly line writes down what you want on a piece of paper type check off list. Then you go down the line and repeat to each individual assembly line worker what you want on the pizza. Which in my opinion is redundant since first person writes it all down. The pizza dough base tastes like wafer meets quesadilla, the sauce was chunky, skimpy on toppings. Then the last person who hands you the pizza sprinkles garlic salt/powder, which we never wanted... the garlic salt/powder lingers in your mouth. As soon as I got home, I brushed my teeth and still couldn't get rid of that garlic taste. Eventually it caused heartburn. There's an adequate amount of seating and it's fairly clean. I think they should have a bottle recycling area. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. If you want real pizza go down the street to "Roma Pizza", it may not be served "fast" but it does taste like "PIZZA"! read more

One of my favorite pizza chains, but the one in this Augusta location just seemed like it needed cleaning up. Pizza bits, trash bits on the floor...we opted to eat outside, and that was better, but tables were sticky out there too...and the employees making the food kept wiping their faces while working (like, constantly!). It was October...hate to see how they suffer and have to wipe like that in the summer. They were all super nice though, so I guess there's no need to be petty--maybe we just came at the wrong time. First the bad, then the good I went in for lunch on Sunday and told the girl what i wanted. I made a mistake and forgot to tell her that i wanted red sauce on the pizza so I asked for red sauce. I didn't ask her to start over, just add red sauce. She got mad and started aggressively making changes to the pizza and slinging the ladle back into the pot. I was ordering two pizzas so while the whole red sauce issue was being resolved the other girl at the counter was making my other pizza and both girls were asking me at the same time what I wanted. I finally had to say "I can only answer you one at a time." This also made them upset. So they continued to make my pizzas with disgust and attitude. Unnecessary for that to happen. I don't appreciate the attitude over a very minor mistake. On the flip side, I love the pizza here and I love all the options. I did go the day before and my customer service experience was much better. I will keep going back, unless the customer service continues like my second experience. read more

It is a shame that I have to give this low of a rating. The Pizza is delicious and the restaurant offers a variety of toppings and salads. However, the customer service is horrible. We were standing at the counter for 5-8 minutes with nobody else standing in line before we were acknowledged by staff. Then we were asked what we would like on our pizza, but could hardly hear the worker. Finally, we werent even told, to go down to the cashier and ee would call the name when the pizza was done. While I paid the bill, the cups were roughly placed down on the counter and the person cashing me out left before I could be given my receipt and without a thank you, or your pizza will be right out... . I waited few minutes and someone came over and handed me the receipt. I said thank you and didn't receive any response back. I did leave a tip because that is just who I am. I am sad to say that I may not be returning to this location for pizza any time soon. A welcoming environment goes a long way and brings more hungry guest to the establishment. read more

This was a delivery order. Half my toppings were missing. I ordered 4 Key Lime cakes and received 4 chocolate cakes. When I called the store to ask for the cakes to be refunded, I was told that isn't possible and I would have to come to the store to "switch out" the cakes. I know taking food back from a customer once it's served is a health code violation. They would not deliver the cakes I actually ordered or give me my money back. I was standing in line to get my pizza made and noticed that the lady making the pizza dough was NOT WEARING GLOVES and the lady who was putting the pizza in the oven picked each pizza up with her hands and she WASN'T WEARING GLOVES!!! The lady who was putting the toppings on the pizza was wearing gloves. When it was my turn to place my order, I asked the gloves woman why the others weren't wearing gloves. Man let me tell you, this is by far the worst experience I've had in a long time. None of the workers have a clue what's going on. No one working in a specific area. I waited 15 mins to start ordering and no one else was in line. The one who took my order came from outside from doing something. I had to basically beg them to take my card to pay for my food. Me my husband and his dad went to mod pizza for lunch today and the atmosphere was great the first girl who took our order kaitlyn was very pleasant and helpful since we had never ate there before we didn't know what to order she suggested each get a small build your own since none of us could agree on same thing lol the one next to her was funny and joked around with us bc we all ordered the small kid size pizza and the manager was nice and explained about the way they cook there pizza over the open flame. OMG!!! I had a friend that would not shut up about this place. So, the other day I took my usual 2 ladies out for lunch and decided to go see what all the hoopla is about. When you walk in you are greeted by a very nice young lady who will start you on your way to building your pizza. The base price is $8.79. You choose your sauce, your cheese, and ANY and I mean ANY other topping you want on your work of art. One of my favorite all time pizza's is actually with pesto sauce, artichoke hearts, goat cheese and mozzerella. Trust me it is delicious, but I have not found it anywhere out here in the South....but, now I HAVE!!! So, you proceed down the line and they are still asking if you want more toppings, like meat. Move round to the left and come to the cashier. Pretty much by the time you pay and start to go to a seat, your pizza has come out of an 800 degree, gas pizza oven and it cooked to perfection. So, now I see what all the fuss was about. And, we have been back numerous times. If you can't build a pizza the EXACT way you want to enjoy it, then you need to look at maybe Chinese food. Was anxiously awaiting this place opening as I heard good things. Full disclosure, I am am a from NY pizza snob so the bar is high. Got the 11" with sausage and mushroom. With a drink, $11, not that cheap a lunch. Don't think it's enough to share. Service was good, everyone accommodating. The pizza was nice and hot and fast. It was pretty good. I really didn't like the crust. More like a flat bread than real pizza. So that was my drawback along with the price. You can go up the street to Roma's, get 2 slices and a drink for around 6 bucks and get something a lot more like what I think of as pizza. Thus the 3 star rating. read more

Thanks Augusta! We finally got a make your own pizza place! If you need a quick dinner this is your spot. I come here a lot when I get home late from work and don't feel like making dinner at home. Really great topping options to make the perfect pizza pie! The MOD pizza size is perfect for me, I usually order it to go so I can get the pizza in a box. I'll eat half of it in the restaurant and toss the lid back on to take it home for leftovers. (The leftovers heat up great in a pan on the stove) The no name cake and the fresh lemonade make this place more than just your average pizza joint. I also really appreciate the staff at this place.
