This was my first time to any Mod Pizza, however I have been to other style of places similar to this in the past. The prices were reasonable for making a custom pizza and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They also had a great list of pre-selected pizza styles that looked really good if you aren't sure exactly what you want since there is a TON of options. The food was absolutely amazing, the crust reminded me of pizza in Italy where it's just thin enough and nice and crispy due to the brick oven. There is a ton of seating for various group sizes, much bigger than it seems on the outside. I look forward to coming back to trying other creative combinations. read more

I know this is a pizza joint, but let's start out with the beverage choices. Can't beat a fountain drink, but also can't beat a solid drink of sweet tea. This one is excellent. Now onto the pizza review. Mod pizza is like the subway sandwich of pizza joints. You build your own. At least that's what I did. You get assorted sizes of pizza so I went with the largest one, the 11 inch. Not particularly big but enough so that it's challenging to finish the whole pizza at one sitting. I didn't. Too, for $17 that's not highway robbery. Like Subway, there's a huge array of toppings to choose from. Here's what I put on mine: mushroom, spinach, red pepper, banana, peppers, and of course, extra sauce. It was topped with a good amount of mozzarella cheese. Once the pizza goes in the oven, it comes out pretty quick. I didn't put a stopwatch to it, but I would guess around five minutes. Good pizza. Not great pizza. I was disappointed for ordering online the first time I've been here plenty of time before inside. This is my MOD build your own pizza missing three ingredients that I've paid for it doesn't have any extra added ingredients that I also paid for. When I got there I gave them my name at first they couldn't find my order they kept asking each other finally they found the receipt mixed in with a bunch of other receipts for orders that had already been completed. The vibe inside was not very welcoming it was more gloomy and negative. Times that have been there in the past have been much more happier employees and I get it we all have a bad day every now and then. I don't like to write negative reviews, but I feel like I have to update this one. This Mod used to be one of our family's favorite spots to go. It was good food, good service, where everyone could add their own spice to their meal. Sadly the past few times I have come here, I have been very disappointed. It seems that the quality of staff has declined. The food has not been as good, but the most off-putting part is that the staff is rude. No greetings, the staff acts as if they don't want to be there, and today I stood at the cash register while being completely ignored. My pizza was ready, and still no one had come to cash me out. I had to ask if anyone was going to check me out so I could leave with my food. Unfortunately, very disaapointed. read more

I lost a bet this weekend with 5 NFL games (thanks Browns & Panthers)... anyway, the person opted for MOD pizza. The MOD pizza here in Sacramento, Ca is amazing ~ so great choice! From the base, with the right amount of barbecue sauce to the swirl of bbq sauce on top, every bite is scrumptious. I ordered the Caspian pizza over the phone, and asked for chopped onions and a swirl of barbecue sauce on the top, and paid for it via the phone. When my friend sent me a picture of what they picked up. I was disappointed because it certainly doesn't look like the MOD pizza I ordered on the phone from NorCal nor does it look like the Caspian pizza I personally order here in Sacramento! (See pictures w/this review). I ordered chopped red onions not slices of red onions... It looks like there are pieces of sausage on the chicken pizza...and the cheese is slid off of the pizza like it was slung onto the counter! When I said it needed a swirl of barbecue sauce on the top, well you can see what they did for them Here's your challenge Augusta Georgia...clean up your presentation and give Augusta Georgia customers something MOD can be proud of! (See what I did there?) I included a picture of what the Caspian pizza I receive looks like and what I get consistently here in Sacramento. This place is absolutely wonderful. Me and a friend came here after church to try this place out and we decided to try the pizza with the double mega crust and chose the toppings of our choice. We love your pie and I was hoping this would be similar. Had I not had your pie first, I would have potentially liked this, but I left so disappointed. The restaurant itself seemed so dirty, and the actual pizza wasn't good at all. The sauces came from squeeze bottles, hardly any at all on the pizza, and the ranch wasn't homemade, it was like an off brand ranch. First let me start by saying if and when you come make sure you have your pizza created by Isaiah...he is the sweetest, most polite, and considerate employee I have had the pleasure of getting customer service from at MOD's. The rest of the staff is great as well, but from start to finish this young man held a smile and polite conversation that felt genuine and sincere. So kudos and compliments to him and MOD for him. Now for the review... I love the cleanliness of this location every time I come in, and the efficiency of the crew to get your order started and finished to your liking. In an area where there are quite a few places to find great pizza, it is hard to keep make it back around to a spot sometimes. Such is the case with MOD. With holiday shopping the last few months (they share a parking lot with a number of popular), I avoided that area for awhile. But I found myself sitting down to a Calexico and I was reminded why I love this place so much. I am one for all things spicy and this pie is just that. The jalapenos and hot buffalo sauce have that burn that sticks to the tongue. It is paired with the mozzarella, gorganzo, and chicken to make a delicious pie. I am always impressed by the speed when each pie is made on demand (hence MOD) yet still has time to go in the fire oven to get that perfect crisp (especially on the thin crust). I do wish they would get their license so I can have a good beer with my pie, but that's not a deal breaker. Friendly team and relaxing environment every time I visit. Actually, I give this a 3.5. I liked it. I had never heard of this place until I needed DoorDash to deliver to my hotel during my travels. They make pizza with the kind of thin, tasty, not too bready, crust that I like. They forgot my utensils and the dressing for my salad, so the manager promised me a redo. I went into the store the next day. It's like a Chipotle set up where you choose your toppings for your pizza and your salads. They have great options and I enjoyed building my own pizza and salad. This store had very good customer service but the employees could stand to tidy up on haircuts, clean shirts, and proper uniforms, since it's food service and all, you don't want to look....not clean. One December dark and dreary, in I wandered, weak and weary... I love the concept of a design your own pizza. I chose the 11" size and piled it high with all the toppings I wanted. Ricotta and blue cheese with feta? Sure! Jalapeños and roasted garlic? You got it! From there they fired my pizza and topped it with your choice of sauces. I went with the balsamic fig glaze but the hot honey was a close second and I will try that next time. The pizza was great but if you do pile it high like I did, you may need to ask for a fork from behind the counter. I think they're great at giving you a lot of topping varieties, more than the other make you own pizza stores, and they give you a LOT of toppings. Like they pile it on your pizza. Clean store, lovely location. Somehow though, I feel like their crust makes all the difference and unfortunately it was burnt and dry when it came out of the oven. There are lots of different types of pizza - to call something good or bad isn't helpful because some people could like this - but I did not. We had two takeout pizzas and neither of us can eat any of either pizza. The meat pizza is arguably worse - completely chewy throughout and dripping with grease. The Gorgonzola pizza is fully a joke as far as I'm concerned. The flavours are bad. The texture is bad. The price makes me expect a whole lot more. Apparently, they buried the paperwork for the order. No offer for a refund, no sorry- nothing. Other visits have yielded similar lackadaisical attitudes among the workers as they loaf from station to station. I doubt I am alone in my sentiment judging from the looks of the faces of the dozen customers that are impatiently waiting for their food, tapping their feet, looking at the time on their phones. MOD stands for "Made On Demand" but it should also stand for "Mmmm Oooh Dayyuum" because that's what you'll be saying when you try their pizza! I've been there twice now and both visits were consistently good. MOD Pizza is like the subway of pizza. You get to choose your toppings and BOY DO THEY HAVE ALOT OF TOPPINGS! You can even choose your sauce (white cheese, classic marinara, or pesto). If you prefer to have a pizza that comes with the toppings already chosen, they have that as well. What I ate: Both visits were pretty similar as far as toppings go...The first time I chose the 11in with garlic rubbed on the dough, marinara, broccoli, pepperoni, spicy sausage, onions and bell pepper. The second time I omitted the broccoli, added chicken instead of pepperoni and added dollops of pesto....soooo good!! The pizza is then baked in a brick oven, and once made, you have the option to add more sauce to it...i added more marinara, but they have ranch, buffalo sauce and a couple more I can't remember. I also tried the blackberry lemonade which was addictive and refreshing. Honestly, I was apprehensive coming to MOD because quite a few of the reviews weren't good...I think they must be missing some tastebuds! My wife and I eat here regularly. We do the low carb lifestyle and their cauliflower crust, while not super low on carbs, allows us to eat pizza and not feel guilty. Every pizza I have ever got was delicious and made exactly the way I want with as many toppings as I want. Even if it's just a pile of meat and cheese. It's great every time. So I'm going to be as objective as I can with this review. I usually have no issues whatsoever with mod pizza but this one by far is the worst I've ever been to. I've eaten from this particular one 2-3 times and I hate walking in there because it has a smell that is just unpleasant for a restaurant. They truly need to do a deep clean to address that issue. Now moving along to the pizza. The times I've ordered here have been in person minus this last time. I decided to order online. Why because I figured I could get in and get out in a hurry. Sad to say I had to wait about 5-10 additional min for a pizza that originally had about a 15 min cook time so that was a little disappointing. They were very skimpy on the toppings. I love MOD Pizza but, when I came back in today to get a marinara sauce no one acknowledged me when I walked in. They all were leaning on the table talking and said nothing to me. The young lady who helped me was extremely rude. She walked up to me and looked me up and down before saying a word as she sipped her Starbucks water.
