Mochi doughnuts are light, fluffy, chewy, and mildly sweet treats. Some claim they originated in Hawaii, some claim they originated in Japan. I first had them in Japan but all that's important is that they're here in Vegas! There's a popular chain of mochi doughnuts that's here in Vegas too so this review will be based on that comparison. Mochidon only makes mochi doughnuts - no teas/ boba/ slushies or corn dogs. So, they're only focused on perfecting one thing and they do make it well. I like how simple the ordering process is using their app. However, there's discrepancy with the flavors listed online/ on the app vs what you get. The app and website lists 6 flavors: matcha Oreo, cinnamon, ube, double chocolate, milk & cereal, and red velvet. What I got in my box of 6 were milk & cereal, strawberry cheesecake, cookie butter, matcha Oreo, cinnamon, and ube. Good thing they were all delicious but I was looking forward to eating some chocolate mochi doughnuts. That's the only "flaw" I can think of...good ol' technology has failed. So, my tip is to call them to find out what flavors they have before ordering and hopping in your car. Their doughnuts are less greasy and keep a bit better than the chain mochi doughnut place. Wanted to check out the hype but I was incredibly underwhelmed. These donuts were bland, greasy, and lacked the basic texture of a real mochi donut. A good mochi donut is crispy on the outside and soft/chewy in the center. These were cold, mushy, and greasy.
