Granted, tables are set far apart, but this should be in addition to. Coffee was delicious, but the beignet bites were just so-so. Granted, one should not expect New Orleans beignets outside of New Orleans, but these little donut puffs had only a light dusting of powdered sugar (which I actually was thankful for because I wore black pants!), and there was a not-overly-pleasant surprise inside with an indistinguishable creamy substance that was sort of like the inside of a brown sugar cinnamon poptart, only less so. I hadn't been expecting that. The yogurt parfait was substantial and delicious. (The staff was friendly and helpful when making selections, but it didn't occur to me to ask about fillings.) I might visit again, but maybe at one of the other locations, if acoustics were more promising.

They only offered one herbal option (lavender mint) but unfortunately I could only taste the mint and didn't notice any lavender. They did have other caffeine-free drinks available, but I was looking for something unsweetened and low in sugar. The space was also different than I expected. Based on the name, I imagined a cozy, relaxing atmosphere with comfortable lounge seating. Instead, the décor felt a bit mismatched, almost like the café had expanded over time and the two sides were decorated very differently. That said, one thing they absolutely got right was the amount of seating. There were plenty of tables and space to work, study, or catch up with a friend without feeling crowded. The biggest downside was the cleanliness. The bathroom didn't feel clean, there were stains on the floors, chipped paint and damaged walls, crumbs around the couches and on some of the chairs, and the dish return bins were noticeably dirty inside. I stayed for about 90 minutes, and during that time I didn't see any cleaning happening, even though there were several areas that clearly needed attention. None of these issues alone would have been a dealbreaker, but together they made the café feel neglected and took away from what otherwise could have been a much more enjoyable experience.

We had a group of five, and the opinions on the food were pretty mixed. If you're thinking about the ricotta pancakes, absolutely plan on sharing them. The order comes with three absolutely massive pancakes. Each one is about half an inch thick and roughly the size of a large adult man's hand. They're impressive, but I really wish the menu gave some indication of just how enormous they are. Unless you're planning on taking leftovers home and eating a lot of microwaved pancakes later, it's way more food than most people would expect. I ordered the standard breakfast with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, wheat toast, and the smashed potatoes. The scrambled eggs had a really nice texture (soft, fluffy, and cooked well) but they were very underseasoned. They needed quite a bit of salt and pepper. The chicken sausage was unfortunately the biggest disappointment for me. I was actually excited that it looked like a hand-formed patty instead of a processed sausage, but the flavor was just...odd. It was somehow both savory and sweet, but not in a good way, and there were chunks of ingredients throughout that I wasn't expecting. I took one bite and left the rest. The standout on my plate was definitely the smashed potatoes. They were excellent. The inside was creamy, almost like a Yukon Gold potato, while the outside was crispy and crunchy. They were well-seasoned, had great potato flavor, and several people at our table commented on how good they were. Someone else ordered the breakfast burrito, which was also huge; they could only finish about half. She said it tasted really good, but it was very rich and heavy. She thought a little more of the aioli (or whatever sauce was on it) would have helped balance all of the savory, fatty flavors. Another person ordered the breakfast sandwich. She said all of the individual ingredients were good, but together something just felt a little off. It was also an extremely messy sandwich to eat. The restaurant itself is comfortable and clean, although nothing particularly memorable about the atmosphere. Service was good overall, but one person at our table had ordered a single pancake on the side and ended up waiting about 15 extra minutes after everyone else had their food. Overall, I'd think about coming back, but I'd order differently next time. The portions are much larger than the menu lets on, the potatoes are absolutely worth getting, and while some dishes were excellent, a few just missed the mark.
