Very nice color Now I'm infinitely satisfied with my grey hair I was really bothered by my graying hair and couldn't find a good solution; I'd tried dyeing it black or brown and even getting highlights, but nothing turned out quite right. Then I met Allen, who boldly designed this stylish, ultra-light Asian-style highlight look for me. I absolutely love it--it allows me to embrace my gray hair!
This was my third time trying a new colorist, and I'm so happy I finally found the right one! My first experience was with a non-Asian stylist. She did very fine highlights, but because my hair is naturally frizzy, the highlights were almost invisible. It just looked like my hair had naturally become dry and brassy. The second time, I thought a Chinese stylist would understand Asian hair better. Unfortunately, the bleach wasn't lifted enough, and once the color faded, my hair turned green. It looked terrible. This time, I actually asked Allen why that happened before, and he immediately explained that it was because the hair hadn't been lightened enough before toning. That gave me a lot of confidence because he clearly understood the issue instead of just guessing. One of my friends has been getting highlights from Allen for a long time, and her color always lasts for months. Even after the toner fades, the underlying blonde still looks beautiful instead of turning weird colors. Before we started, I also asked Allen how long this color would last. He confidently told me I wouldn't need to color my hair again for at least a year. I loved that confidence--and after spending six hours carefully working on my hair, he absolutely delivered. The color is exactly what I wanted, but what impressed me the most was the placement and thickness of the highlights. Nothing looks too chunky or too fine. Everything is perfectly balanced and blends so naturally. If you're looking for someone who truly understands how to highlight Asian hair, I highly recommend Allen. My wife and I have been customers of Allen for a long time, he does a very good job with cutting hair, but especially with dyeing hair. One thing I like is that he is very efficient and the result is very good every time. Most hair salons I have been too, I have had to sit there for a long time, but not with Allen. This is helpful given we are all very busy. Highly recommend! He is also very friendly and approachable.
Alan is a highly skilled stylist. He delivered exactly what I was hoping for! I'm always concerned about damaging my hair with chemicals when getting it curled, but Alan took great care to minimize the damage. After the service, my hair was still just as shiny, soft, and healthy-looking as before. The curls turned out beautifully. Amazing work! I'm very happy with the results and would highly recommend Alan.
I've been coming to MOC Hair Salon for years, and Allen never disappoints! He's done both my haircuts and highlights and everytime I always love how my hair turns out. He actually understands and listens to exactly what you want your hair to look like. Highly recommend Allen!

This is my third time having Allen do my hair, and once again, he absolutely exceeded my expectations! He is incredibly patient, professional, and meticulous, and he always goes above and beyond to make sure my hair looks beautiful while keeping it as healthy as possible. You can truly tell how much he cares about his clients and takes pride in what he does. I loved this tiny studio! Immediately after showing my inspiration pictures, Allen knew exactly what I wanted and got to work. I was very satisfied with the sheer precision and speed of which he did my hair. My hair was long, and notoriously thick and plentiful, but his haircut makes it feel 10x lighter than it did previously. I also appreciated how Allen was very thorough in his process and did not hesitate to explain his methods, especially when it came to hair dye. These are the most precise and blended highlights I've ever had, with both aesthetic and retention greatly prioritized. Allen will give you what you want, and his techniques are unbeatable. Allen is amazing with highlights and color. He's an expert with Asian hair. Over the years, I've been to at least 5 highly-rated colorists and it would always be the same result. Either too bright at the roots, or it would look good until the first wash and then turn brassy almost immediately. This never happens with Allen. He does an air touch technique and is very meticulous. The results are very natural and I can go at least 4-5 months before a touch up. The color always stays the proper color and doesn't get brassy or orange. I'm so grateful I found Allen. read more

My GF recommended me Moc and I have not been to another barber / hairstylist for almost 3 years now. I have been to other places (even Korean places) for perms and they was never suited to my input / preference. Moc is seriously skilled and very knowledgeable about what kind of cuts / perms fit to your own hair type and head shape and it shows. The picture below shows the second cut after a perm and you can see how nicely the wavy hair starts to take shape even after a haircut. Please if you're ever considering switching to a more personalized haircut or perm, don't hesitate to try him out. read more

Allen is a very talented stylist for balayage and dimensional highlights. I have been coming here and trusting him with my hair for 3 years now. He always strives to get my hair closest to my inspo color. Color doesn't show in these photos due to toners but it gets brighter after a few washes. Haircut is also included with the color. I didn't have to tell him exactly how to cut it because he knows what suits my features the most. Highly recommend anyone who is looking for a balayage in OC! I discovered Alan earlier this year and have gotten a cut, Japanese hair straightening, and most recently color. He is really knowledgeable and explained how to safely color my hair after getting g it straightened without damaging it. I love my subtle natural color he did from my jet black hair and the hair straightening really cut down a lot of time from having to blow dry and straighten! read more
