But the little hole in the wall shop does seem to have one of everything- scooter, walker, wheelchair, safety rails, orthotic shoes, etc. If you were injured and immobilized and needed a mobility device immediately, this is your only option, and I think Boston is fairly lucky to have it. The less good: the prices are really high for what you get. You are paying a mark up for convenience and can get higher quality items for much less online or even from the other suppliers in the area who work with insurance. The selection is extremely limited. If you can wait, do that. Rentals involve a random quote from a random guy in the store after talking to another random person and calling in advance does not connect you to the store (I guess online sales may be how they stay in business? No one is actually coming to this store at the end of a long dark hallway with one little printed sign on the front door). There's nothing written down and I found out later when they called me about extending the rental that these prices are extremely negotiable. Nothing is priced in the store either, so I grossly overpaid for some items... but I needed them right away, so what can you do. Returns aren't accepted. The vibes are not great, but if you're desperate, it's good to have an option for immediate relief. You really can't buy/rent a scooter or wheelchair in person anywhere else, you have to work with a medical supplier referred by your Dr, which takes a few days and is limited to M-F.

I called Lifeway Mobility and spoke with Tabitha. She was pleasant and knowledgeable, and told me the fee to remove the stairlift would be $215. We scheduled a date and time. The technician, Luis, called me when he was on his way, he arrived promptly, was very nice and friendly, and had the stairlift out of the house in 15 minutes. I paid him, he emailed a receipt, and was on his way. I could not have asked for a better experience, and highly recommend Lifeway Mobility.

company showed a complete lack of urgency, accountability, and respect for patients who rely on…read moremedically necessary equipment. My mother's mobility chair was taken for repair on January 9th. We were told it would be delivered on January 29th. That date was then changed to February 3rd, and without explanation, we were later told February 26th. Nearly two months without essential mobility equipment. Communication was poor, follow-ups led nowhere, and no one seemed concerned that this chair is critical to my mother's safety and daily functioning. The only reason we finally received the chair on Thursday, February 5th is because I forcefully escalated the situation, stated I would pick it up myself, and demanded to speak with a supervisor. Once pressured, they were suddenly able to "rearrange" delivery -- proving the delay was avoidable all along. No family should have to threaten escalation or beg for basic medical equipment. This was careless, stressful, and completely unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering this company, especially those caring for vulnerable patients.
