After trying to clean out my charging port, I was convinced I did additional damage on my own. It went from partially charging to not at all and I could only use the Qi charger. I called a couple places to see about repairing the port and got wildly different prices. MobileR had the better price and could fix the phone ASAP. I arrived and the guy at the counter took my phone and attempted to plug it in. I explained that in an attempt to clean it out, I did more damage. Within three minute of jabbing at it with tweezers and a fancy toothbrush, he handed it back to me working perfectly. He told me "no charge" and I was on my way. He could have easily charged me a hundred bucks to replace the port and I wouldn't have been the wiser. Joe's iphone 5 has been on its last legs for months ... the battery was losing its ability to hold a charge. Then, out of nowhere, the screen popped up from the case ... obviously, not a good sign ... especially, with the recent and well publicized horrors with the Samsung Galaxy 7 smartphone batteries. His first consideration was an upgrade to an iPhone 6 as he thought the price would come way down with the release of the 7 ... I'm LOL) but, when the cost was still over $500 I decided to see if his phone could be repaired. Having worked with Michael three years ago to evaluate whether to repair or ditch my iPad I didn't hesitate going back to MobileR. With my Yelp check in, an offer for a FREE tempered glass screen with repair popped up. "WOW" I said to myself as I held my iPhone 6 + with its peeling plastic sheet and multiple cracks. Both men were working on equipment but a genuinely friendly Kennedy immediately came to the counter to greet me and assess my needs as I sheepishly handed him our ailing phones. Joe's pop out screen was caused by an expanded battery which could easily be replaced and since his screen was compromised, the tempered glass screen would be replaced, too ... for free. My fix was simple ... a new tempered screen for me. Unfortunately, we could not complete the transaction during the first visit as the iPhone 5 screens were in transit. Two days later, I went back ... Michael was by himself. And though he was engaged in a phone conversation with a customer about their job, he smiled and signaled that he'd be with me shortly. Within two minutes, he put his customer on hold, came to the counter and took my two phones. While he continued (then completed) his business call, he started working on on my repair jobs. Within minutes three customers walked in. He acknowledged each one ... quickly assessed and noted their need on a post-it as well as contact info. Inside twenty minutes both phones looked brand new and with the tempered glass screens, neither needed a dumb plastic sheet. The cost ... phenomenal ... out the door for$129.00. Was I pleased? You bet! It was a pleasure to do business with MobileR ... and while I hope I don't return too soon, I won't give it a second thought when my laptop needs a fix. read more

The service is fast but effective, the guys are very knowledgeable and not afraid to give advice on maintenance and upkeep for my electronics I can do at home. One laptop I had was not worth repairing due to age and issues, and they recommended I buy a new one instead, saving me a lot in future costs. These gentlemen go above and beyond everything they do. Repair. Customer service. Computer and cell phone education. Consultation. All of the above. I initially went here because my laptop's fan stopped runnung and it continually over heated. When I came back to get it they were honest. The fan ran fine but they did see what was going on, fixed it, and told me how to keep up the maintenance. They didn't over charge me either. While in there for my computer, I mentioned how my cell was overheating and I would lose a charge quickly. The guy working on another computer at the time named the brand and model of my phone just from what he heard. Then suggested different models of the same brand and explanation why. I ended up upgrading shortly after. I have since brought my husband in with a cell issue and referred my mother here when her laptop went out. Her's they fixed and told her she should now be able to get at least 6-7 more years out of it. My husband's cell couldn't be fixed, although they tried. But the gentleman did print out cells that could replace his for a reasonable amount. Mobile R is the real deal. Brought in my wife's laptop as it wouldn't turn on. The guys at MobileR quickly diagnosed the issue and repaired quickly. Ours was luckily a simple fix and the cost was well worth the expertise. Another local company wanted $75 to diagnose and on the phone was trying to explain to me that it could cost more than the laptop was worth. I checked with Best Buy to get my Toshiba laptop repaired. It took 4 days to set up an appointment. The day of the appointment they told me they would have to send the unit out ( they never looked at it) and it would be 2 to 5 WEEKs to repair. I cancelled the appointment. This is by far the best cell phone repair shop I've ever used and I've used about four or five since I travel across the US for business, so I've had to do this a few times! tl;dr; Went to 5 repair shops and got nothing but hassles. Michael assessed my phone in 5 minutes and was able to repair it without issue for less than half the price. A Tale of 5 Repair Shops --------------------------------- Shop 1: Downtown Chas. Recommended by SquareTrade. Drove there and it's a residence with no answer. Called the phone number, left a message, never heard back. Shop 2: Mt Pleasant. Authorized Samsung repair shop. Couldn't help me because my phone was not a US version and Samsung "won't let us repair it". Shop 3: Downtown Chas. Said he could fix it. Said he will probably break the screen, so he is going to charge me for a screen-- whether or not he breaks it. Shop 4: Mt. Pleasant. Spends 10 minutes looking for the repair part. Can't find it. Calls other shop. Still can't find it. Offers to fix it for me if I can get the part from eBay. Shop 5: MobileR!!! Assesses phone. Finds part in 5 minutes. Explains that the screen may get broken during replacement-- says he will split the cost of replacing the screen with me *if* it gets damaged. Michael's cost to repair the damaged camera in my phone was the same as Shop 4, but Michael's price included the part. Michael's cost to repair the camera and replace the broken screen was **60% LESS** than Shop 3. Upon pickup Michael informed me that he was able to purchase the screen for less than expected and LOWERED my final bill from the estimate. THIS IS HOW YOU RUN A BUSINESS! I brought my iPad in because I thought the screen was cracked (turns out just the tempered glass protector was broken - I put it on so long ago, that I forgot it was on there). They called me right after I dropped it off to let me know that I did not need a new screen, just a new protector. Did not want to give this outfit 1 star but that was the least offered. My computer wouldn't boot up. Took it in there and they charged me 89 bucks to 'fix' it. When I got home and plugged in the monitor, audio and all of the peripherals it still wouldn't boot up. Unplugged everything except the video and network cables and... it worked. Unfortunately, kennyboy, at mobile9 managed to trash my system. No IE11, no Nortons (where all of my passwords are stored). When I called them... kennyboy told me how to fix his mistake! This place is a life saver! My phone stopped charging and died. When I took it to a "full service carrier store" I learned that full service doesn't mean fixing. It means they just try to sell you a new phone. The carrier couldn't get any information off of my phone onto a new one so I declined. The carrier employee was nice enough to Google a repair place for me (since my phone was dead). MobileR fixed my phone for less than a third of the cost of buying a new phone and saved me from losing contacts and photos. Yelp directed me to this amazing store when the on/off sound button on my iPhone 6 broke. Earlier I had ventured into the loud and impatient Verizon world to be told to just go ahead and upgrade to a new phone. I personally dislike the longer iPhones and loved the style of the old iPhone 5's but needed more storage (per the constant notifications) and bought the new 6. I emailed MobileR from this site and received a personal response immediately. The store is nestled in a quaint area off Shelmore near Queensboro Shopping Plaza.
