My MacBook Pro stopped working out of nowhere. I've had it since it first came out, about six years ago, and everything was on that computer. My businesses. My properties. Student and work-related information. Personal documents. Photos. Things I never backed up because I never imagined something like this would happen. When it stopped turning on, I tried everything. Different chargers. I went to multiple repair places. Geek Squad couldn't help. Apple couldn't help. I made several Apple appointments, walked in early, stayed late, and had multiple employees try. They were kind, but no one could get it to turn on. The light would come on and shut off. One Apple employee even described it as "CPR," like the computer was trying to come back to life but couldn't. Eventually, they told me the computer was basically done and advised me to focus on data recovery. I was devastated. To be completely honest, it caused so much stress that I had to talk through it in therapy. That computer held my life. That's when I found this data recovery company online and met Abraham. From the moment I spoke to him, he gave me something no one else did: hope, without false promises. He calmly explained different scenarios, walked me through possibilities, and told me to give him a few hours. I tried not to get my hopes up. A few hours later, Abraham called me. Not only did he explain what was happening, he texted me pictures of my actual files. When I saw those photos, my heart dropped. I cannot explain the relief. I got my quote and was told my new screen would arrive Tuesday and they would be able to replace it. I went in to give them the deposit, only for them to call me later that day and say the quote they gave me was wrong. The new quote was 20% more and they would need an additional deposit. I decided to let this go since there were so many great reviews and mistakes happen. Tuesday comes and they let me know the new screen hadn't arrived and that it should be in Thursday. Fine, I already paid the deposit and it was only two days more. The screen arrives and I drop my phone off for the replacement. I was told I could come back in 2 hrs, which I did, but they needed an additional 30 mins. I waited in my car for 30 mins before the guy came out and said the new screen had a defect and he needed more time to work on it. He let me know that the defect may not be something he could fix, but by then, he had already opened my phone and messed it up. My only options were to let him keep working on it or leave with a phone worse off than what I left them with. So I hoped he could fix it, but he was unable to. They offered to reorder the part and to come back Tuesday, but I declined. I was willing to pay the more expensive quote because I appreciate great service, which all these reviews indidcated they had. But that didn't seem to be the case after all the hassle. My phone left Byte Me Wireless worse off than it arrived. I understand the defective screen and the late shipping was out of their control, but those issues combined with the wrong quote and the additional wait time made this a horrible experience.

A few years ago I brought a 2022 MacBook Air to this guy and it had an MDM lock, I purchased it on Facebook for a few hundred, and come to find out I was, yes, scammed, because the laptop was MDM locked. but even though I couldn't figure out the password, I was yet still convinced that because I discovered through intense online digging that I was able to get to some extent access to the computer, in other words, I was convinced that I could bypass this MDM lock, After exhausting my tries I decided I would take it to this shop, Posadas, to see if anyone there might know something. So I bring it there. The guy at the counter, Posada, tells me that theres nothing he can do if it's MDM locked, and I saw that coming anyway. So, I tell him, okay, and I begin to put the laptop back into my backpack when somebody sitting down at the glass counter, on the customer side of the counter, not the employee side, tells me, "let me see it." I hand the guy the laptop. As he's looking at the laptop, I'm checking out the items in the cases, thinking about purchasing a cell phone maybe, or a tablet, something caught my eye. As I'm looking at the products, about maybe two minutes go by and the guy who I handed the laptop to tells me, "hey, I got past it, it's unlocked!" I give him a sideways look and im like "really?, let me see that!" and as im reaching for it Posada says to the guy who unlocked it, "wait, I didn't tell you to do that." and the guy sitting down gave him a look, and handed the laptop to Posada. And I ask Posada if I can see the laptop and he points at the guy who unlocked the laptop and he says "well, this guy just unlocked it for you, and normally I charge 110 dollars for an unlock." I tell Posada "well, this guy, he just offered to do it on a whim, I didn't ask him to, he just asked to see it and I handed it to him, I wasn't even aware that this guy worked here." and Posada says "well, now I can't give you the laptop, this guy just provided a service of mine for you and now you owe me!" and I was very nice about it, but also felt very uncomfortable about it like I was being robbed or something. And I was like "thats not right, I didn't ask the guy to do it can I please have my laptop Posada insisted that I owed him. Then he told me that If I couldn't pay him back in 24 hours that he would end up putting the laptop on his shelf and selling it for his price. I told him "HECK NO! I JUST PAID FOR THAT" I got a little loud and he told me, "IM SORRY, THATS JUST HOW IT GOES!" Long story short, I showed up the next day purposely after Posada ended his shift, and I ended up talking to the taller guy who worked there and I explained to him my situation. Naturally, and I don't blame him, he had to call Posada about it, just to confirm that I wasn't trying to cheapskate him for a MacBook Air for 110 dollars. I heard Posada yelling over the phone, and he looked at me as I could hear Posada yelling at him, and he's looking suspiciously at me. After he hung up the phone, he put out his hand and I reluctantly gave him the 110 dollars. I can't blame the tall guy though, I understood his position on the matter. I have much more respect for that guy. But the moment I paid I lost all respect for Posada. Yeah so this is a very true, unwelcoming story. That guy Posada might be great at fixing things but when it comes to business I'm sorry to say, because I used to like that place, that I believe Posada might be a bit of a bully and a thief. And I say bully very firmly. Not only that, but the guy who bypassed the MDM lock on my laptop, I see him there all the time, but as far as I remember, he was not an employee at that spot, ever. He himself was a cool dude, I could tell that he didn't like how Posada handled that situation that day either. I'm writing about this event years later, and I should've wrote about it then. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER AND RACIST i want to first mention how…read morewhen i went it originally to fix a phone, i explained to the owner i had no clue what was wrong and he could please help. We waited nearby about and hour as he said. Then went back in and phone was not ready, he was still fixing it and needed to close. anyway, prior to that he said that it was $100 flat. Never did he mention a difference with paying cash or card. So when i paid it was additional $13 -OK NO BIGGIE however i would have appreciated CLEAR COMMUNICATION prior. MOVING FORWARD --- I referred a family member of mine over to him (because of his "good review") to go get his Tablet fixed -- keep in mind we are going to this "PROFESSIONAL" for his help. So my fam member stated that he was given a date and time to return in which later he did. Come to find out, it was nowhere near fixed. He wasn't even present during that moment. So my Fam member stated "Why was there no communication on his end"? Apparently, the owner took it HARSHLY and ran back to the facility and started yelling at my fam member that " YOU MEXICANS , BLAH BLAH BLAH" All my fam member said was the truth, why was he not communicating and setting dates when not ready? My fam member had to calm the owner down. He's not a confrontational person. Then after, my fam member told the owner he's only asking for him to be informed that it isn't ready so he wont waste his time driving to the location. Shortly after they agreed to leave it a few more days to get it fixed. We let an additional day pass by since we had not heard or received confirmation it was ready ..... then still nothing and upon arrival- ITS NOT WORKING :( so then the owner is getting upset and says that my fam member should have KNOWN what was wrong with the tablet. LIKE HELLOOO, you are the professional sir. You were informed prior to leaving the tablet. He told my fam member how it would cost about $600 and my fam member explained to him had he known then he wouldn't have left it in the 1st place. He kept it for about a month with no solution to it. It was brought back home and still not working. Time and money wasted with a bad experience. One thing about working in professional settings and owning businesses if s that you must have good customer service and there was also NO REASON to yell out anything about RACES. But since we paid in CASH to the owner that now all a sudden he remembers me now through looking at surveillance obviously missed the cash transaction part unless he's giving his cash to the other location. They claim each location is independently owned and operated which may be true but like I stated- I took the phone to LABrea location and a worker himself told me one hour wait time and then took the phone to the Regent location. At the Regent location is where He fixed the phone and The cash transaction was done. This is an actual factual yelp review by a customer (myself) staying the service I received on this day. Ok I was in LA and my brother needed to get His phone fixed and we Found the first location driving down LaBrea. So let me list the problems: 1- Parked in front walked to door nobody there, we walked back to car started it up and a man comes out asking how he can help us and my brother left his phone there and they said it would be an hour To Fix it ok no problem. 2- We go after about an Hour and a half Just knowing the phone would be ready and we walk in to get the phone and the man says-"Oh we had to send the phone to our other location so You need to Go over there to pick it up. So now I need to drive some place Else. At this point we are irritated but ok the phone should Be ready, right??? 3- wrong !!! When we walked in the phone was on the counter still all Cracked up. The man at the new location hadn't even started on it. So now we have another hour wait. We were super irritated at this point. But they got two stars because they did good work but they need better communication and to make sure they work on peoples phones in a timely manner at the original location or at least give the customer an option or a heads up. Needless to say I won't be going back there again.
