Adding crisp lettuce. We each liked our salads a lot. There was a generous scoop on each half sandwich. The soup was mainly chicken broth -- though tasty -- with a few bits of chicken meat and lots of chopped carrots. We also got one diet Snapple to share. He gave us cups of ice for it, even. We'd come here again for lunch as the food was very good -- but next time we would give more attention to what we were paying.

Friar Tuck's has gotten over that hump pretty easily. From their Ren Fair house looking trailer to a TARDIS on the back of the trailer to the geeky and MIME centric names of their dishes. Tuck's is a true geek's dream truck. If you are the type that is looking for a healthy option on menus then Tuck's probably isn't for you. Hell, most food trucks probably aren't for you. But if you are looking for a burger, topped with items that would make Elvis reconsider his snack of choice, then you my friends have found the promised land. My favorite is the Angry Scotsman, a chirzo burger topped with bacon and a fried egg. Break the yolk and let it smother everything as you bite in. But the one that Tuck's is truly famous for, or maybe infamous, is the Vandross. A cheeseburger topped with their signature cinammon maple bacon but instead of a regular sesame seed bun it is replaced by a glazed donut from MOJO Donuts out of Pembroke Pines. This is one of those 'it's so bad, it's good' meals. The sweet, sticky donut mixed with the juicy burger is devine I say. Sure you will have your nay sayers that will quickly state, "But it's so bad for you." And to them I say, "No shit!" That can be said for countless items like fried chicken and waffles. They are called comfort food because it makes us feel good. It temporarily makes you forget everything that gets to you; heartache, jobs, South Florida drivers. Robb , a native of Boston, and his wife Abby have implemented their love of food and all things geeky into their business. Both are extremely welcoming and friendly people and I could sit and talk with Robb for hours about many different things. Despite the insane combinations you see on many of the burgers they are pretty straight forward people. "You will never see me use truffles" Robb told me recently but probably with a little more colorful language. I had some beers so I don't exactly remember the placement of the f-bombs so I'll just leave them out. He explains that he wants to be able to take the truck to any state and still serve the same items. He is not bound to having ingrediants from a particular location. They recently started a rewards program with the truck. You either get a card or you can download an app for your phone. Scan it when you purchase something and in time you will earn discounts, free food and swag. I can't recall seeing many trucks with this system on them. It's a great way to get people more involved with the truck and follow them to different locations. Because let's face it, people love free shit. Put simply, Friar Tuck's is as comfort food as it comes. Big portions, delicious food and warm, personable people making it for you.

After going to the summit a couple of times now and bringing tons of New York friends to experience the madness, I finally got the chance to grab a burger from Friar Tuck's. Firstly- Friar Tuck's has a GREAT looking truck. It definitely has that old Tudor Bavarian style and of course they also go to Ren-faires. Additionally, their servers are super friendly and so that is a big plus. However- beyond the look of the truck and the service with a smile, I was unimpressed with their food. After checking their sandwich menu (which is pretty much all they do (mostly burgers and no sides), I settled on the Wutang burger. The burger is supposedly an Asian spiced burger with hints of garlic, ginger, 5-spice, and green onions. Topped with our Wutangy sauce and crispy noodles. I love spicy burgers, so when I asked if it was spicy they definitely told me yes and I was initially excited. Once i got the foil wrapped burger and unwrapped it I noticed right away that the burger was dwarfed in comparison to the massive sesame seed bun. Not only does a sesame seed bun harken back to fast food, you could tell that the bun was not fresh made and came out of a bag. After peeling off some of the big bun, I chomped down and although I was happy for the crunch of the crispy noodles, the rest of the burger was lackluster and left me with just a "meh its ok" kind of feeling. The flavors were pretty low-key, I really couldn't taste any of what they said was a "Wutangy sauce" (whatever that is), and the noodles are actually just those crispy noodles you get at Chinese food restaurants when you're waiting for the rest of your food. Unfortunately, Friar Tuck's doesn't get my vote. Maybe the other burgers are better, but this one is not on my top 10 list.

We were starving and this was one of the maybe 4 vendors selling tacos. :| We looked at the menu and decided on the Dixie Hwy Chix and the KW Pink (shrimp) Tacos. The guy taking the order was about as happy as a brick, and barely spoke to us when taking the order. It went something like this: Guy: *stares at us as if trying to will us to understand he wants us to order" Me: I'll have the Dixie Chix tacos and she will have the shrimp tacos" Guy: *taps screen a few times, then grunts out "Name."* Me: *gives out names* Guy: *grunt grunt, mumbles total* Me: *pays* Don't know if he was having a bad day or what but it was off putting. The food was ok, nothing special. The sauce was good, the chicken was a tad overdone and dry, the plantain was a nice twist. My friend liked her shrimp tacos but said they smelled fishy to her. Prices are as expected for a food truck, no bargains. I would consider eating at the truck again if I was really in the mood for tacos, but hopefully the cashier has a better day.

The portion size is on the smaller side and I would recommend getting a couple of things. The employees were great with preparing and giving food orders in a timely manner. More than 100 employees ordered food from them while they came to my work. Everyone liked the different types of tacos and other menu items they had.
