I came over because I seen there was going to be a funnel cake truck and I haven't had one in forever. The parking was fairly simple seeing as there is a parking garage that's free and the truck was right there so I actually didn't have to go far. The funnel cake was soo delicious. Man I love them so much and today I was reminded of why that is, they also had all types of toppings.

Plenty of free parking was offered at City Hall Parking Garage. It seems like every city is having one of these popular food truck events. Pompano was also holding one across the street from their city hall tonight. This event however had some of my favorite trucks. I saw World famous, Fat Boyz, and Mod Pizza. All of those trucks have restaurants. Also present was Melted Madness, Opita, Jerk It, That Vegan Truck, and Kona Ice. Cosmo the largest double deck ice cream nitrogen truck was also attending. I even saw a coffee truck. There were two tents selling moderately priced beer, wine, and cocktails. The event had some really nice tables set up to eat at which is almost unheard of at these events. Usually you either have to stand up or bring your own chair. Entertainment was provided by dueling pianos. They were actually quite entertaining and they took requests from the crowd. They provided a variety of easy listening songs including songs by Elton John, Stevie Nicks, and Queen. This is a very nice family an dog friendly event. With free parking and beautiful weather they night couldn't have been more perfect under the stars.

I'm not sure why they moved it, but probably due to new construction and the new restaurant openings. Anyway, it's held the 3rd Friday of the month. And runs from 5 pm to 9 pm. There is ample street parking as well as a couple parking lots nearby. It was not very busy when we came -- around 7 pm. Perhaps because there wasn't much advertising for it. I'd looked for it -- to confirm it was happening and couldn't find it -- online or in the local paper. How did we find it? From my favorite food truck (Captain Lobster) that I follow online. They noted that they would be here tonight and we took a chance. There were two rows of trucks near Atlantic boulevard. And past the music area another two rows of more food trucks further north. In addition to lobster, you can find trucks offering gyros, tacos, soul food, bbq, hot dogs and deli, stuffed burgers, shaved ice and ice cream. You will easily find something among all the offerings that you will like and want to order for dinner, a snack, or a dessert. There's one small booth also selling cocktails over by the music (manned by a DJ). There's a music area and a few people were dancing. Kids were wandering around with hula hoops. So it's a family affair, too. So stop by for nosh or for dinner or even just dessert. Wander around, listen to the music, and relax.

This was the first time Pompano was holding the event in Old Town. Food truck round up is the third Friday of the month. So now you have two Fridays to come and enjoy the fun in Pompano every month. Before you decide to eat take a walk around to see all of your food truck options, they span two full streets! Barbecue, Caribbean, Greek, American grill, if you crave it they have it. As for myself and my friends we always end up back at Captain Lobster where you can get a buttered roll chock full of sweet lobster for $15. They should pay me to advertise because every time I eat in front of their truck I steer people over to them. Moop We Love Pops just happened to be parked across from them so I couldn't miss that. They serve Gelato in a cup or on a pop. They will dip it in chocolate for you and a topping. Roy had the passion fruit pop dipped in chocolate, my daughter had the cookie and cream pop dipped in chocolate, and I had the dulce de leche caramel in a cup with chocolate and chocolate sprinkles. It was delicious. Hanging out with friends and family on a Saturday night at a fun event while enjoying delicious food and listening to DJ Mike Locke spin the tunes, it doesn't get better than that.

Finally I was going to take the burgers as is. The guy says sorry we can't make this burger to go. It's a burger place that has carry out but won't make a burger to go and won't let you make any modifications. Bad experience, don't recommend. Will never come back. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Thank you for the reply. I originally wanted to X-tudo but I was refused to substitute the bug without seeds, every burger that is taken to go is never as good as dining in. As a customer I could have been given the option. The person could have just said it's not as good but it's your choice. I was never offered a chance to speak with a manager, I was just told NO. As a customer it should be up to me what burger I want to order, the ability to modify it and dine in or out. If I pay for it then it shouldn't matter if I take it home or just throw it out. I was frustrated because anything I asked for was met with a No, and was not offered to speak to a manager. It was the attitude take it or leave it, so I did. If the person I spoke with offered to involve a manager or try to find a solution I would have not written a review. I never do but this time I took the time to write one, that should say something. Thank you for your reply

This location offers Mexican ice cream and I've tried before and it was really good. They have a bunch of flavors. They also offer pasties and cakes for sale. I've never eaten in but just usually call in my order. The place is generally busy and that was the case that evening. This time I decided to get steak nachos and they were decent. I was told my order would take 5-10 minutes but it ended up taking about 25 minutes. They came with guacamole, sour cream, cheese, refried beans, meat of choice, and pico de gallo. The steak was a bit dry and I was told there would be more for the price but it wasn't a mound as described lol. I probably won't get them again but it was worth a try.

I'm sure they could see how excited I was to be there . It felt like what I would imagine walking into a local restaurant in Mexico would feel like. I ordered the chicken burrito which was so delicious ! It came filled with rice , beans, lettuce tomatoes and more. The salsa verde was amazing and paired well with the burrito. I also got the Birria tacos which I must say are the best I've ever had . I won't be going anywhere else for my Birria. The meat was seasoned well and the corn tortillas was fresh and toasted just right. The consume was soooo good !! I highly recommend a visit. I already know what I'll be trying next!
