It was Mobile, Alabama. A lot of people don't really know that but it's family friendly. The city did a great job felt very safe everybody was very nice. Parking was great. Traffic was great. Mardi Gras has been in Mobile since 1703 - wow! Today, Mobile's family-friendly Mardi Gras consists of 40 unique parades, numerous balls, and tons of flying moon pies, beads, and trinkets! Elaborate themed floats manned by masked mystic societies, mounted police and marching bands wind through downtown Mobile and surrounding areas, entertaining nearly a million revelers each year. At the balls men wear white tie and tails and women wear full length evening gowns. It was really fun to get "dressed to the nines" for the ball we attended! Various clubs and bars offer their own particular events. Hank Aaron, my favorite baseball player, was born in Mobile and is honored by the Mobile "Hand Aaron Stadium." The USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park is just outside of Mobile and has a memorial section honoring the men and women who fought in all of our modern wars. Bellingrath Gardens and Home located about 30 minutes from Mobile proper is definitely worth a visit, especially during azalea season.

My experience has been the worst in my life. I got shot after calling for help 3 times sad part is…read morethat they come to the hospital question me then I get arrested. This isn't the worst I had multiple seizures due to being epileptic then I wake up in jail charged with obstruction of justice. I'm currently on probation for this charge and I have complied. My first day of reporting city probation had to call the ambulance to come and transport me to the hospital for seizures. All I remember is being picked up by the ambulance I don't remember having my rights read to me or anything. After a seizure you go through a postictal state of recovery whereas your mind comes back from confusion and aggression due to the medical condition. I will definitely be seeking civil action as soon as this probation is completed. Any injury lawyers out there want to take on a case that'll be a definite settlement out of court contact me. I have years of medical records. It's got me suffering from major anxiety now and I have multiple medical records for this as well. I'm seeing a physiatrist every 90 days and I've been prescribed multiple antidepressants for anxiety. This department of public safety has completely ruined my life. I only gave one star to post the review I wish I could have given zero stars.

Some people can say what they want to about Kim Hastie and in my opinion those "charges" against…read moreher here a year or so ago were for the most part fabricated trumped-up bullsh*t (or what we residents of Mobile Co. call typical "Old Mobile" dirty politics!). However I have to give Ms. Hastie full credit for turning the Mobile County License Commissioner's locations around and making them a LOT more efficient than what they used to be, especially the one in Theodore. Oh and just for the record: I am in no way related to Ms. Hastie nor do I know her nor her relatives. Before Ms. Hastie took over in years past you would walk in and expect a 45 minute to 1 1/2 hour wait just to get your car tags. Adding to the misery of having to sit/stand in a room with what seemed like over 100+/- people there waiting for their number to be called there would be 10 to 12 (I think) service windows there but only about 3 of them were open. On top of that you'd see a lot of the workers in the back sitting on their tails either jacking their jaws on the phone, filing their nails, yak-yakking with each other or even some sitting there with a look on their face like they were lost in outer space! Well, that was then this is now! I recently went there to have 3 car tags renewed; when I walked in only 2 windows were closed and the rest had friendly nice ladies there eagerly waiting to help. From the time I arrived, walked inside, got my number, had my number called, paid for my tags received new tags and left the building a little over 8 minutes had lapsed! WOW!!! Again, thank you Ms. Hastie for turning that train-wreck of a place around. When others could've took the lead and fixed this place instead of standing there cross-eyed gawking with their thumbs up their butts Ms. Hastie stepped up to the plate and fixed it! Now when I have to get my tags renewed I thankfully don't have to wait forever anymore. :)
