Mine and my family's very first time asking for help with food was back in July 2025. They make it…read moreeasy online to apply and we did the interview over the phone. When my husband found work again in August, I updated our income through their online portal and submitted an email through the online portal stating that we no longer needed the funds for SNAP and thank you for their assistance. I never heard anything more so I assumed everything was handled. In December of 2025, I received a letter asking for income report and I was unsure what it was so I threw it away. January 2026 rolls around and I get yet another letter in the mail asking for 6 month report of income documents by Jan 31st and I kept that one. I spoke to a lady Mrs. Thompson on the phone Friday January 30th about it and she told me to come in right away as she was showing we had $3,000 worth of food stamps on our EBT card. I explained it was supposed to have been cancelled. She told me to come down to the office asap and speak to the manager Mrs. Payne. So I went Monday February 2nd and spoke with her. She said that she was working to expunge the extra funds on the EBT card, system was still showing that even though my husband got a raise this month to $19hr we still qualified but not sure how much. She said to give her some time to do some math and figure it out and she would call me back with an update. I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL. I NEVER RECEIVED AN UPDATE!!!! I would have come down there in person a lot sooner but unfortunately February 4th I was unexpectedly mauled by two of my neighbors vicious dogs and wound up in the ER!! So I could not walk or drive for a bit!! So, I go down there TODAY February 11th, 2026 and speak with a different assistant and she gets her manager in the background. Mrs. Payne did NOT SPEAK TO ME PERSONALLY but through the other lady and tells me that the state told her there was no way to expunge the extra funds and I now owe the state of Alabama $3,000 in EBT Funds which I DONT HAVE!!!!!! WHAT A JOKE!!!!!! THIS MAKES ME NEVER WANT TO ASK FOR GOVERNMENT HELP EVER AGAIN!!!!!! The lady told me that Mrs. Payne said spend the $3,000 worth of EBT because they're there but I still have to pay the $3,000 back to the state. I do not have ANY BREATHING ROOM TO MAKE A MONTLY PAYMENT PLAN!!!!!!!!!!!! I leave the office in tears and then I proceed to look up the states number because I wonder if she really spoke directly to the state? I called all 3 numbers on the website and NONE GET YOU TO A LIVE PERSON!!!! The company and state needs to be ashamed of themselves!!!! Nowhere on the site does it give the local email address of the mobile DHR office to send a cancellation request to nor updated income documents. I had to learn the email address by going down there in person. Now I have no idea how I'm supposed to pay the state $3,000. Guess I'll lose the roof over my head and then some. 8003820499 3342420143 8338222202 Are the above telephone numbers listed on the states site.

It was Mobile, Alabama. A lot of people don't really know that but it's family friendly. The city did a great job felt very safe everybody was very nice. Parking was great. Traffic was great. Mardi Gras has been in Mobile since 1703 - wow! Today, Mobile's family-friendly Mardi Gras consists of 40 unique parades, numerous balls, and tons of flying moon pies, beads, and trinkets! Elaborate themed floats manned by masked mystic societies, mounted police and marching bands wind through downtown Mobile and surrounding areas, entertaining nearly a million revelers each year. At the balls men wear white tie and tails and women wear full length evening gowns. It was really fun to get "dressed to the nines" for the ball we attended! Various clubs and bars offer their own particular events. Hank Aaron, my favorite baseball player, was born in Mobile and is honored by the Mobile "Hand Aaron Stadium." The USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park is just outside of Mobile and has a memorial section honoring the men and women who fought in all of our modern wars. Bellingrath Gardens and Home located about 30 minutes from Mobile proper is definitely worth a visit, especially during azalea season.
