She searched online about the problems that she was having, and it said not to drive the truck that it should be towed. She called me and asked if I had an Auto Repair Shop that we could refer the vehicle to? I had just recently heard about Columbus Auto Repair and what a wonderful job that Orlando and his team do there! So, I called Orlando and ask him what we should do about the vehicle. He said that we could either use AAA and have the vehicle towed to his shop or if they were going to take too long that he could send his tow truck to pick it up and be there in 25 minutes. The wait for AAA was going to be a couple of hours. So, even though we paid for the tow, he was there in the timeframe that he said. Orlando did a wonderful job of running the recommended test from Ford by following the most recent TSB's, which is technical service bulletins from Ford. He also tried to test drive the truck and almost got stuck out on the highway. Between the test that he ran and trying to test drive the vehicle was determined that she most definitely needed a transmission. Orlando gave us an estimate and told us that as soon as we were ready to order the transmission he would get it ordered. He said that it should take 2 to 3 days to get the transmission and that he would have it installed within two days! So, we had Orlando order the transmission on Saturday October 10 and he received it on Monday, October 12. Orlando had the transmission installed and completed by Tuesday, October 13. Once it was finished, he test drove the vehicle and said that it was running like a dream. We called and were surprised to find out that the vehicle is ready to be picked up. Orlando also offered a one-year warranty and said that as long as the vehicle is back in 3 to 4 months for a transmission flush that the one your warranty would be honored. Orlando's shop is very clean. He was very clean cut and Professional and very customer oriented. We were very pleased with the quote that we had received and did not think that we could receive a better value anywhere else. We would most definitely recommend Columbus Auto Repair for any type of service that you need anything from an oil change all the way up to an engine replacement or transmission replacement! First of all, when you set up an appointment, you can request a loaner car, so that you don't need to wait there for the car, and I didn't have to miss work. I also saw a different rep ordering someone an Uber for a different customer because who didn't have appointment so there wasn't a loaner available. Secondly, I originally went in for a transmission flush. While I was at work, I got a text and email of the inspection they had done. The inspection was really easy to read, and gave me different levels of recommendations for other things that needed to be done. Some things were urgent, and some things were needed soon, but not urgent, and there were some things that were for maintenance only. On my lunch break, I called my service rep, and he was able to talk me through all of the things on the report, and explain things to me, because I am pretty illiterate when it comes to cars. I ended up also getting my drive belt replaced as well. But my rep made sure to let me know what the price would before I decided to go through with it. At the end of my work day, I drove my loaner car back to Luke's and picked my car up, and was on my way. Overall, the inspection report, and the loaner car I think is what really separates Luke's from the rest. When I've taken my car to get an oil change or the tires replaced at other places, i've always had to wait in the lobby and its a waste of time.
