My car is an old Subaru Forester with a standard shift. Last year, I brought it in to replace the clutch. They charged the going rate. After driving it 150 miles, the car cut off at an intersection. I managed to get it started and made it home. Next day, I returned it to Northshore to be fixed. Philip said, "We drove it to the corner and don't see anything wrong with it. You just have to get used to the new clutch." I got the car home without trouble but a shade-tree mechanic was passing through the neighborhood. When he looked under the hood. He immediately noticed 3 hoses were in place but NOT fastened and a long wire was left hanging unconnected under the engine. A week later, I had to rent a truck to drive a bunch of stuff to Florida. The car was towed behind the truck so I could use it for the return trip. Made it safely to Florida. After a short drive to run an errand, the car cut off again. A passing stranger got under the car and looked at the engine. He saw that some part that connects the gears had fallen a loose and was hanging crooked. So I had it towed back to my relative's house. Now the car is STUCK IN FLORIDA !!!
