The station had a convenience store, which was well stocked and very clean. There didn't seem to be any trouble makers hanging around, and the surrounding neighborhoods are quiet and calm. I bought a bottle of water and filled up with $30 of gas (good thing for lower gas prices). The attendant there was nice, although some of the conversation was lost in translation. Negatives here: Too often when I come here, the pumps are stopped (shut down) for long periods of time and I can't fuel up. Homeless and beggars will watch you and wait until you start pumping and come up to you and ask for money and they got you where you can't walk away. Some have been very aggressive and will not leave and keep asking you for money even if you ignore them or say no. They know the trick to get you when you can't leave. The attendants inside will not help you--you are on your own. Always be aware of your surroundings when fueling here--lock car doors when you are outside your car pumping.

Today's total was close to a nearly upscale dinner and a movie back in pre-pandemic days. Is what it is. All I wanted was gasoline, no frequent customer rewards or other such deals, just gasoline. Too many prompts, too much glare on the pump's screen made my, what used to be a simple transaction, difficult. I'm not spoiled, a bougie Karen. I know how to pump self serve gas, complete the transaction. (I'm not afraid to get dirty either. Can do a DIY oil change, check tire pressure, change one if necessary, even assisted my ex in rebuilding an engine! Not as expert as Marisa Tomei in "My Cousin Vinny" but can hold my own when it comes to cars.) Completed filling the tank. BUT pump refused to spit out my receipt! At these prices, you better believe I want deduction proof for my CPA. It's on the smaller side but I haven't had a problem with waiting on someone for a pump (think Costco). It's well-lit so there's no sketchiness when grabbing some late-night gas. All in all, no complaints.

This is a new one for me…read more When I drove up to the station, there was a lit cigarette sitting on the window ledge outside the building. I thought, "Okay, sure, a deranged vagrant left a cigarette burning at a gas station. That's LA for you!" Then the attendant walked out, picked the cigarette up, and resumed smoking it. I had to laugh. At the same time, I filled up as fast as I could, which isn't very fast because the pumps here are still slow. A patron walked in and the attendant put the lit cigarette back on the ledge, maybe 20 feet from the active pumps, and headed inside to sell the patron a lottery ticket or something. Incredible stuff. Again, it's the cheapest Top Tier place in the area, so I'll probably be back. But I will try to use the pumps that are further from the office.

I am assuming that the owner must be a Veteran or a military history enthusiast. Tanks, a jeep, a military sea craft all give you WWII vibes. It's also really crowded because it's one of the few gas stations in the area, which makes it worse. People are backing up and going all sorts of directions in order to maneuver around this place. Prices are steep, but that is expected for the location. It's super convenient for me though, as I live less than 5 minutes away, so for me it is worth it to deal with the high prices and poorly designed lot. I also never see broken pumps, which is awesome. I've never been inside, but I believe they remodeled it. Visiting this Chevron is not pleasant, but if you live nearby, it's definitely worth it to come.
