I had the best experience at the Chevron on Santa Monica and Westwood Blvd. I stopped to get gas around 5:30 AM on a Saturday, and Mr. Eric, the cashier, was such a bright spot. He was wrapping up his graveyard shift but still cheerful, fun, and incredibly kind and patient. The store itself is clean and well-organized. I've been here before to use the restroom, and honestly, it's one of the cleanest gas station bathrooms, great water pressure, soap, paper towels, and super hot water. Positives here: Usually some of the better prices for Chevron in the area. Large station--plenty of room to breath. Store is well stocked. Negatives here: Too often when I come here, the pumps are stopped (shut down) for long periods of time and I can't fuel up. Homeless and beggars will watch you and wait until you start pumping and come up to you and ask for money and they got you where you can't walk away. Some have been very aggressive and will not leave and keep asking you for money even if you ignore them or say no. They know the trick to get you when you can't leave. The attendants inside will not help you--you are on your own. Always be aware of your surroundings when fueling here--lock car doors when you are outside your car pumping. read more

I stopped by here on the tail end of my night out. I was in need of gas, and this was the first gas station on Santa Monica Blvd off the 405. I pulled up, swiped my credit card, and fueled up. It took no more than 5 minutes. The convenience store was not open at night, but granted this was around 11:00 PM. So I won't dock a star for that. Also, there weren't any shady people around, so that is a plus. The gas prices are a bit higher here than in other gas stations in the area. No. Dangerous when you're a loyal brand customer and closest station to your home has had a broken air dispenser for over six months and they direct you to a sister station which has no air access because of construction. Gas prices are definitely on the cheaper side for west LA. There are a lot of pumps making it easy to fill up and generally no waiting in line. The store is clean, woth lots of healthy and not so healthy options. Good selection. Loove the fact that they have Seattle's best coffee. Always get it when I'm there. Bathrooms are decent and pretty clean. Some negatives: Their system is down more than infrequently. Not sure why that's the case. In those instances you can't use credit cards. Getting a receipt for your gas purchase usually requires that you go inside and ask for one. The clerks don't change the paper rolls on time. The clerks are generally nice except one named Candy. She very unprofessional. Downright rude. For example, when I told her the cappuccino machine was too watery and to add more powder, she refused to do so claiming that it was fine. I am absolutely appalled at the service at this location. I went there the evening of 8/8/15. The rudest gentlemen I've ever met was working there. A tourist needed to use the restroom but didn't understand how the coin system worked and instead of helping him the clerk made obscene gestures and called him an idiot while he was "helping" me. I selected cash back for my debit card, and afterwards he started yelling at me asking me why the hell would I get cash back and I should have asked him permission first. #118 As of late (latter half of 2009), I have found this Chevron station to be amongst the cheapest Chevron stations on the west side - along with Venice & Sepulveda and Centinela & Palms. I prefer this Chevron due to its large lot size. It can accommodate 16 cars at once without feeling crowded, which is the case at the other two said stations. Another bonus at this station is that the air & water machine is free. By California law, fuel stations are supposed to supply free air and water if you have made a fuel purchase from them. However, you don't even have to do that here as there is an on/off button on the front of the machine. The convenience store is quite large as well having a wide variety of drinks and snacks. You gotta ask the cashier for the restroom key, but they're always nice about it. read more

this gas station makes me bonkers. on the one hand, the location is great if you're head west toward the 405, and pricing is decent: cheaper than the mobil across the street, but a little more than the the shell a bit further to the west that is less accessible. my car also seems to prefer chevron gas over mobil, typically giving me 3-5 mpg more on premium! on the other hand, this chevron seems horribly managed and run. literally 50% of the time i pull in, the pump i pull up to has something wrong with it like the credit card reader is not working, the grade of gas i want isn't available, etc. the good or bad news, depending on your perspective, is that IT VARIES FROM PUMP TO PUMP!!! so what i've learned (but often forget, because going to a gas station shouldn't be this complicated) is to not shut off my car until i've gotten out and verified that the particular pump i've pulled up to has a credit card reader that is currently working AND the grade of gas i need. stupid and annoying, but the location of this station makes it the most convenient for when and where i fill up and the prices are decent. otherwise, i'd take my business elsewhere. read more
