It's a way long distance to the next nearest fuel if you don't have a Pacific Pride card or the ability to use commercial fuel services. Not such a huge deal anymore with the big Harleys having 5+ gallon fuel tanks and better mileage motors. But 30+ years ago, 100 or so miles was about the range of the average chopper which, "conveniently" was the distance from the Shell station in Estacada to Detroit. All gone now :( The wildfire that swept through Mill City, Gates and Detroit took out many homes and businesses, this store among them. I hope they are able to rebuild but even if they do, it will never be the same.

Getting gas here is a chore now…read more OK, so now you can pump your own gas in Oregon. I don't have a problem with that. But I DO have a problem with pumps that can take cards, but don't, with no attendants, forcing you to walk quite a ways across a lot into another building out of view of your car and wait in line. When you go to insert your card you're met with a little screen that says "Machine not currently taking cards. Please pay inside" or something like that. Even though the machine has a card reader, and I've used it before in the past under previous ownership. So OK, cool no problem. My legs aren't broken. I'll just walk inside. Now I have to wait in line at least 10 minutes behind people humming and hawing at what they want out of the deli case. Or to stare blankly at the menu as if they've never seen or heard of chicken on a stick before. I do finally get up there. I hand the kid my card. "How's it going? I'd like some gas. Fill on pump three please" He asks me how much? I say "a fill, I want to fill it up please" Then he asked me, well do you know like what dollar amount that's gonna be?. Really man? No, that's kind of what you're supposed to tell me after the car has been filled up. So they don't have the technology to put an authorization on my card, and then charge me what the total is when I'm done pumping the gas? Am I the only person that ever comes in and asks them to fill it up? Really? I say "Just give me $10" Only $10? "Yes please, thanks." (Just give me enough to get up the road to someplace that knows how gas stations are supposed to work.)

It always amazes me that for gas, to save .05 - .10 cents per gallon, will drive blocks or miles and yet spend $5 for a cup of coffee. In a pinch visited here yesterday, pulled in, asked for $10 in gas on the card. We were informed that the minimum for a card is $15, no problem, asked for $15. Asked the guy if he would mind washing the windshield. His response was, "Nope." Our response, "excuse me?" His response, I'm only making like $.15 on this sale so no." "Okay.... so would you mind if I used your squeegee?" NO ANSWER. So louder, "Can I use your squeegee?" he just pointed and said it's over there. There happens to be Marines stuff in a few place, I was thinking to myself that i would never imagine saying that a Marine is lazy but this guy is lazy. Maybe he's not the Marine. Either way, he made $.15 off us that day and lost any future business that he would ever get from us. Living half way between the Mill City and the Lyons gas station, we will make sure to go to the Mill City station from now on. What happened to the days when people just valued a hard days work and that was part of the reward. If you need a better profit, then you mark your prices to get that profit, don't punish me for your business plan.

She went out of her way to tell me to go ahead and get my fuel someplace else and that the next station was 16 miles away, as if I didn't know where I was. She also made a point of pulling her jacket open so I could read her name tag as she announced at high volume that her name is SAM. Ok Sam, good on you for running me off. I'll be sure to tell everyone I know what fine customer service skills you have. The most ridiculous part - there was no one at the pump behind me so even if I had backed in, to simply ask me to not do that again would have led to her realizing that I hadn't done it in the first place. When you come at someone with all that attitude there probably won't be much conversation Sammy ... Their prices are great, but I'll spend $4.00 more next time and skip the attitude.

The individual kept asking irrelevant questions about other variation of lotto. We stated again Mega million and power all. He stated something about a kicker and you get all with a kicker something. Again stated no kicker Powerball and mega million. He proceeds to print mega million Powerball and mega bucks. And then starts cussing and accusing us of stating we wanted one of each. He used the F bomb several times the threatened to call the cops and proceeded to pick up the phone and said get out of his store. The other cashier acknowledged that I did ask for a mega million and a Powerball and I got those tickets. The owner needs to address this staff member's behavior especially him thinking he can weaponize calling the police for a none crime. NOT IN THESE TIMES
