Since Saturday and Sunday probably are their biggest shopping days of the week you would think they would care to give Sunday shoppers a good experience at least equal to Saturday shoppers. You pay to get treated like a criminal at Costco. They scan your id on the way in and compare your cart to your receipt on the way out like we are all recovering thieves. Inventory and offerings are inconsistent and unreliable. Try not to grow to like anything too much because odds are it will be gone for weeks or months before you see it again or they will just stop carrying it altogether. Also be prepared to have pushy sales people accost you throughout the store. It seems Costco rents floor space and takes a cut of proceeds every week from different carnival barkers selling some new gadget, cheap jewelry, car remotes, or mobile phone services. They used to have good meats at good prices but it seems good meat deals are harder to find. Clothing offerings are pretty mediocre. They definitely could offer some nicer clothes than they do. They push more and more shelf space away from name brands towards Costco Kirkland brand. They do have decent gas for good prices and good deals on tires and installation. They sell batteries at good prices but don't install them which is something they should offer.

For the most part, it provides everything you need to keep your car clean inside and out. Unfortunately, my experience went downhill. The license plate reader failed on nearly every visit, causing repeated delays at the entrance. A helpful employee once provided me with a windshield sticker to fix the issue, but I explained I don't put stickers on my windshield for safety and aesthetic reasons. That understanding allowed me to keep coming back and even recommend the business to others. The problem began when a newer employee saw me use the sticker, printed and kept my receipt, and gave me the impression I was being checked up on as if I had done something wrong. When I asked why, I was told in so many words that my setup wasn't acceptable and that they would "verify" things. Instead of resolving my concern, it escalated into an uncomfortable argument. Calling to speak with a supervisor didn't help either. I was connected with another employee who, when asked if they were actually the supervisor, replied with "more or less." Overall, what had been a business I promoted and enjoyed has turned into one I can no longer recommend. Miscommunication, unprofessional handling, and the lack of respect for loyal customers overshadow the positives.

Thankfully, I found North Shore Shell as one of the only places open early on a Sunday in the burbs. Honest, affordable, and the kind man working also told me what was wrong with my breaks for free. Finding an honest mechanic that won't charge unnecessary fees is such a breath of fresh air. Coming here was definitely worth the 12 mile drive and I'll be back for whatever repairs I need as they have gained my trust.

This seems like a fraudulent thing to do to keep increasing the gallons filled, as well as the total cost after the gas has stopped pumping. At first I had to double check to make sure that the gas had actually stopped pumping because when I looked at the display, I thought that the gas was still pumping. But when I took the gas nozzle out of the tank, there was nothing flowing from it. It had completely stopped yet the display kept increasing the number of gallons, and the total cost of the gas. Because I didn't want to pay for gas that I wasn't getting, I immediately shoved the nozzle back into the pump to shut it off and make it stop. Only after I put the nozzle back into the pump did the display stop increasing the number of gallons and the total cost of the gas. I went inside the station to tell the employee about the problem with pump number two. He didn't seem to care at all and said that I would have to talk to a manager who was not there today, but would be there tomorrow. I asked him if he would do anything to check the pump or shut off pump number two until a manager has a chance to inspect it. He said no he wouldn't do anything. I asked him if he would tell the manager about the problem that I reported on pump number two. He said that he would not. He took absolutely no responsibility or accountability for the problem that I reported to him. This seems like a pretty big problem for the gas station. They are charging for gas that they are not actually dispensing. If you happen to visit this gas station, I would be curious if you use pump number two or any other pump and see if the gallons dispensed and the total cost keeps increasing even after the pump automatically shuts off. I wouldn't want others to be cheated like I was.
