George has been with me through five of my own cars and five of my family's. He has done brake (pads and rotors), clutch, full transmission, winter-wheel changeover, tire mount, ball bearing replacement, radiator replacement, alignments, inspections, fixed electrical problems, and all the other minutia of car ownership. Not one mistake. George will tell you what you need, how much it will cost, how long it will take, and give it to you straight every time. It's a small business with only a few guys working on the cars, so you may need to wait a little longer than another shop, but it's a 3-bay garage so they move fast enough and the wait is worth it. West Lynn would have made me drop off my car for days, and would have made me pay for a replacement I didn't need. I'm sure this $50 fix would have cost me at least $150 at West Lynn Auto. You can pick out a tire and set up an appointment online. So I picked the tire I was looking for, made an appointment on the website, and almost immediately had a real person email me back confirming the appointment. Nice. I showed up today at the time I requested, they had the tires I had requested in the correct size, and they brought my truck almost immediately in and began work. They completed the tire install and an alignment in just over an hour, which went by quick with my laptop and the wifi at the Dunkin Donuts across the street (they do have a decent waiting room with a TV but I wanted an iced coffee). They called as soon as it was done. To be fair, they were not very busy (this was a Friday morning) but this was an excellent turnaround time. The tires are great, the alignment is perfect and the guys were friendly. There was no up-sell for services I didn't need, except to ask if I wanted the road hazard warranty (which I did, cheap enough considering the cost of premium tires). I honestly can't say how they compared on price to other shops because I wasn't shopping on price; the cost of the tires and the install seemed reasonable and to me the convenience was most important, and they did excellent on that. This is not the kind of place I would do service at (not a knock on them, I just like to do my own, or take it to the dealer for anything complex) but I would definitely return next time I need tires.

Because I work in Boston or New Hampshire (two jobs) I need to get the spare off and the flat fixed as soon as possible. Staff are straight shooters, if it's a busy day they give realistic times (which helps me plan my day) or if the job can't be done that day (which is rare) they are honest and I can look elsewhere. This occurred once in my 14 years of living in Peabody and seeking service from Century Tire. The shop is otherwise accommodating and will work with you. Through all the tire troubles I've had through the years, I'm happy to have Century Tire there.
