Wouldn't consider parts that were cheaper either, they just didn't seem friendly or accommodating wouldn't use. Places like this don't really seem to care about getting new customers so why go to them. They won't give you the benefit of the doubt on anything to win your business.

Their prices are reasonable and the work they do is exceptional. We've brought them a Saab, a Volvo, a Mercedes, a BMW, and a Mini, and they've done an exceptional job on all of these cars at a fraction of what a dealer would charge. Before they do a job, they'll call you and let you know what work needs to be done and will also give you a price estimate, which usually ends up being pretty accurate. If they find any other problems, they'll let you know about that too. They get the work done quickly too, and even have a loaner car (though we've never needed to use it). As our cars have aged, they keep us up to date on what to expect in terms of maintenance and repairs, and offer excellent insight on if an aging car is worth keeping or getting rid of. We've also brought them cars for pre-purchase inspections, and they've never missed a potential problem. These guys have made it easy to confidently own European cars, and I'd recommend them to anyone in the area. This is a repair shop that cares about having satisfied customers, and it shows. If you're looking for a shop for your European car, this is the place.

    I hesitate to review Village European, a mainly German car repair shop in Concord, MA, because I…read moreliked them quite well at first, until we ran into a little problem. I don't like to burn bridges, either, but as far as I'm concerned, they have already burned them. The driver's side window regulator had failed on my Mercedes GLK350, so I brought it in for repair. It was quite expensive, compared with what it costs on other cars ($2500), which was bad enough, though I knew Mercedes would be expensive. The problem arose when I noticed that after the window regulator had been replaced, the keyless entry function had stopped working, on the driver side door. I asked, with some trepidation, if they were planning to fix it... and was told that they did NOT intend to fix it! I was given several excuses for that including "it's just a broken wire," and "it's characteristic of this model." Also, it would require the complete de-installation and reinstallation of the window regulator cassette, a job that takes at least several hours, each way, to take it back out and then reinstall it. Well, that is unfortunate, but the error was theirs. Why should I have to pay hundreds of dollars to fix what they broke? Village European claims to be experts in Mercedes cars. They knew that this wire breaking was characteristic of my model, yet they didn't bother to ensure that it survived their handling. They broke it, and their refusal to fix what they broke, sticking me with the bill, is a deal-breaker! Additionally, I was driving my BMW that day, which I had just taken out of winter storage. Shortly before the break over the Mercedes keyless entry issue, their head (?) mechanic told me that the BMW's brakes were shot, that the discs were worn unevenly (as if that would not be obvious from driving it, if it were true) needed new discs and pads, no doubt, and probably calipers (which would have come to about $2K). I looked at them. Yes they looked patchy, but I thought I knew why. The discs had acquired a thin film of rust overwinter, which had only partly worn off in my first drive of the year. By the time I got home, the rust had worn completely off, and they looked, and worked perfectly normally! The truth is, that was just a thin film of surface rust, unevenly worn, which must have been obvious to the mechanics there... One last thing. During the several days they had my GLK, I had come in several times to check on progress and offer to bring payment up to date, i.e. to pay them. They always refused, saying I could let it go until they were done. After we had our disagreement about the keyless entry problem, I renewed my offer to pay them then, when he (Jacob) announced that "he had gotten paid alright," i.e. he had already taken payment, off my CC (which he apparently had on record), in my absence, as if to say he thought I might not pay him! This after trying repeatedly to pay him... That was in fact the last straw! I can be very understanding. What I understood from these experiences was that this shop is less than honest. I cannot continue to do business with a shop that cheats me, or tries to cheat me... They seemed so nice! And they do have a beautiful shop... But I guess appearances can be deceiving...

    I have been getting gas here for greater than 10 years. The service inside has always been bad, but…read moretheir gas prices have always been good so I have looked beyond the poor service inside. But my visit two weeks ago was unbelievable. I will never use their "services" again. I would give them zero stars if I could. After purchasing gasoline, I decided to go through the car wash. During the car wash the machine apparently malfunctioned and stopped mid-cycle. Both the entry and exit doors to the car wash were shut and did not open. I waited a few minutes to see if the machine would restart or if anybody would come out to advise. When noone arrived, I tooted the horn a few times thinking that would get attention from inside the store. Again, nothing. I looked up the phone number for the gas station and called them from my cell phone twice. Each time it continually rang and no one answered. I turned my vehicle off, as there was no ventilation for exhaust fumes, and exited my vehicle hoping to find an intercom system or interior door exiting into the station. There was no intercom system, but there was one door that looked like it would lead into the station but it was locked. I pounded on it several times and no one came to the door, in spite of it apparently leading into the station where I'm sure the attendant could clearly hear me. After spending a few minutes walking around the interior of the car wash and seeing no emergency exit button, help button or any means of escape, I hoped that the car wash would not suddenly start while I was outside of my car. I finally saw a metal box near the exit door that had a button that had very faded writing that I thought may read "open". With no other option, I decided to push the button and see if one of the doors would open. Luckily, the exit door did open. I had no idea how long it would stay open so I quickly got into my vehicle and drove out. I was stuck inside the car wash bay for about 10 minutes, and my vehicle had soap all over it, as you can see from the picture. I went inside and spoke to the attendant named Maria who was the most uninterested service person I have ever come across. I explained what happened and told her I wanted my money back. At first she was not going to comply until I demanded to know who the owner of the stationed is. At that point she refunded my money and told me she didn't know who the owner was. After I asked the same question about five times, she finally said that the person's name was Charlie. She said she didn't know his last name, a phone number, or an email for me to contact him. When she saw I was not going to give up, she finally told me that I may be able to get a hold of him by calling the Concord Mobile station. She claimed she did not have the number for that either. I explained to her that the car wash should be shut down immediately. If there was a medical emergency or the machine suddenly started up while I was outside the vehicle it could have been a very dangerous situation. She clearly did not care and did nothing but look at me like she was bored. If it was colder outside there would have been ice on the wet floor of the car wash bay, which would have made it hazardous to walk. I was amazed that somebody who represents a business could have so little concern for what just happened inside that bay. Luckily I do not have anxiety or claustrophobia, as that would have been a real problem. I left Maria, the "service" attendant and called the Concord Mobile station. I was told Charlie was not there but that his son was, so I spoke to him, explaining what I just went through. He apologized, and said he would send somebody over to close the bay immediately (I later learned this did not happen). I told him that I appreciated his apology but I would like to hear the same from the owner himself. I gave Charlie's son my contact information and still have heard nothing. I would encourage future customers to ignore this station, just as they ignore their customers. You will be better served to find another gas station.
