I always come here for my oil changes. The service is great. There's never a line . The employees are always friendly and courteous. I gave it 4-5 stars ONLY because the company charges a fee if you use a card to pay. It's an oil change not a kidney transplant - so I entered Mobil 1 in Edison with rightsized expectations. They took me in reasonably quickly, they treated both me and my vehicle professionally and then, they let me be on my way. Did they ask if I wanted or needed additional services, they sure did. But they weren't pushy nor did they over dramatize the need for a new cabin air filter. My family's still breathing nor did anyone lapse into an hypoxic coma because I passed on the filter. Came in for an oil change and was serviced right away. The waiting area has coffee and free (full sized!!) water bottles in a cooler. The employees were very nice and explained everything well. I usually wait an hour for a synthetic oil change and here it only took 20 minutes. My boyfriend and I went in at the same time and they were able to handle both cars so we were in and out of there together. As a first time customer there was a discount, they also provided us with coupons for $4 off every visit, as well as a flyer for a free 7th oil change with them (get 6 oil changes and the 7th one is "free" up to $35. With the flyer I am also able to stop by in between oil changes and they will top off any fluids for me. It is a small family business which is why I chose to stop by and get with a good first experience I will definitely be returning for future oil changes. read more

This is why my review is quite detailed - this is something I wish other reviewers would do - give precise and pertinent details about their interactions with the businesses they review. Saying "Great!" Or leaving no explanation for a one star review is not helpful and is a waste of time. Now, down to brass tacks: This is a great family owned business. I was procrastinating and I put off my oil change for far too long because of the rising cost of EVERYTHING and because of the covid shutdowns (i know, i know. Shutdowns have been over for a long time now!). Anyways, I checked my oil the other day after the millionth time my dashboard told me it's time for an oil change. The oil was low, and it was very dirty - x-rated, if you will. Someone mentioned to try Mobil1Lube Express, so I looked up the customer reviews - satisfied with what i read, I then showed up at Mobil1 Lube Express at about 8:25am - and I am glad I did. I was out and done at 9am! I can't tell you how many times I drove past this shop and thought - gee I need an oil change! These kinds of shops depend on "upselling" other things besides what you came in for - and stuff you probably don't need.. That's how they stay ahead in business. Most express oil change shops will try hard to upsell. This shop did NOT try to upsell or pester me to purchase products that I didn't need - and I have a master mechanic in the family so I know what i need and what i don't need (besides getting my relative to work on MY car...). They all were polite and efficient- I will be going back for all subsequent services. The premises were clean and pleasant (fresh coffee, water, magazines and stuff while you wait), the employees were polite and knowledgeable. The prices - I am not up on prices for this type of service but I know that it was worth every penny I paid and not just because of the actual work done but that it was done professionally, pleasantly and in a timely manner. I have found that they are average for express Lube shops in the area. They did give me a few little discounts and pointed out that the 5th oil change would be heavily discounted. They made sure to put that reminder sticker fir when to get my next oil change. Keep your oil changed and clean and you will have minimum automotive problems! Take care of your car BEFORE it breaks! I was pressed for time this day - i never had to ask them to hurry or felt they were moving slowly -you know that feeling - I was in and out of the shop in a flash! And know that if anything changes in reference to this review - I WILL be back to report it here. I do not anticipate any changes from this 5 star review. I thought this was an express oil change station, however, my oil change is took 1.25 hrs on a Saturday at 10ish...like the other reviewer I also experienced a car that pulled up after me leaving before me...probably explains my wait time...the extra star is because when I checked in on yelp, I received a $5 off...which I definitely used while I was there because, I'm not sure I'd return...maybe if I'm a rush...oh wait...NEVERMIND Update: it's not like anyone explain your oil is changed every 5k mi & the paperwork provided conflicts...why didn't the clerk say hey you're not due for an oil change in the first place...pretty shady... read more

I liked this place until one of the workers did not tighten my drain plug all the way in and the plug fell out while inwas driving and it caused my engine damages worth $ 10k to my $8k value Hyundai Elantra. The manager and workers never owned upto it and I ended up changing the whole engine. Routine oil change. BUT they broke the sensor and stem on the tire while filling it with air. They replaced the stem with a rubber stem and not the sensor. If they broke it, they should replace it. Now I am stuck with this unexpected cost. I expected more from a local small business but this just shows they don't care about keeping their customers. read more

Because of my job, I get oil changes about every 5-6 weeks. This place is the fastest I've been too. Pep Boys up the street has made me wait an hour before they'll even take my car in but Mobil is alway fast and easy. The waiting room is clean and stocked with free water and coffee. I am a rather young looking girl who tends to come off as somewhat naive. I have found that many mechanics think this means they can get quite bit of money out of me; however, I was lucky enough to grow up with a truck driver for a dad, and he taught be a fair amount about cars. I went to this Mobil station almost immediately after picking up my car from a body shop because I had been hit by a semi on the highway. I wanted my car looked over by someone else, and it needed an oil change to boot. I explained this to them and they said they would give the car a full inspection. Three mechanics came out at separate times carrying filters from my car as well as brand new filters still in packages. They wanted me to see how "dirty" my filters were. As if a white piece of cotton and paper wouldn't get filthy inside a car in two seconds. They tried to get me to spend an extra 100 bucks on filters of all things! Otherwise they said my car was fine. It didn't feel fine to me, so I took it to another oil change/mechanic/inspection place. They put the car on the lift, pulled me in, and showed me the severe damage that was still left on my left front wheel. The thing looked like it had been bent in 45 degrees. It was cutting into my tire. But according to this Mobil, the only problem with my car was several dirty filters. read more

How could you give a 1 star review to an oil change place? Well let's see. First off good thing I wasnt in a rush to get my oil changed. Being 1 of 2 people in the place getting there cars oil changed. I waited 15 minutes before I was even asked what type of service I wanted. Knowing that the oil I prefer is alittle more expensive than standard grade oil I knew I was looking at about 70 bucks just for an oil change. But then when they tried to sell me an air filter even though I have a K&N filter in the car something struck a nerve. Did they even check the air filter? How about all the other things they say they check? Well needless to say I know why I do my own oil changes. After spending an hour getting a over priced oil change. I refused to go back in and ask them to vacuum the car like I paid for in the price. Never again. read more

STAY AWAY!! They broke my glove compartment and threw away the air cabin filter tray in my 2006 Toyota RAV4. I don't care about the glove compartment as much as the cabin air filter tray. It is important because it keeps the filter secured so the filter can do its job. I have a 3 year old and this is our primary vehicle. This is very upsetting. I have to get this fixed. I am sure the Toyota dealer is going to charge an arm and a leg. I already contacted the BBB and will explore every legal avenue to get this resolved. Learn from my mistake. The best fluid and filter service place around. Eric is the owner and is a real nice guy. He and his staff explains the different types of oil and different quality of filters that are available. They treat you right and show you the old filters. I see some complaints about how long it took. If an oil change takes under 15 minutes somewhere you should beware! That means they are not doing everything they say they do. At Mobil 1 Lube Express it usually takes between 25 and 55 minutes, depending on what fluids are being changed.
