Momo is my go to for shabu shabu these days. This location is just as good as the Rowland location but without the crowd! There's also a parking structure so no need to worry about parking. Food is good and the service is friendly. Shout-out to Kassidy! She was so nice and schooled my foodie friend on the proper way to eat eye of round so it doesn't suck. read more

Thank you for one of the best hot pot experiences yet. We had to make a reservation, despite going on a weekday during lunch, because the reviews said it gets pretty busy. It was a good thing we did because a lot of people who also came in after us also had reservations and some had to wait a bit for their table. I was pretty shocked that this was an AYCE place because the meat and vegetable quality were amazing. There aren't too many choices for meat, especially if you go for lunch, but it's pretty decent if you enjoy eating beef and pork - which I do. Their broth isn't super flavorful, so we had to rely on the peanut chili oil sauce we made at the sauce bar. Momo even has a drink bar, which is $2.55 per person, or you can check-in on Yelp to get it free. Definitely worth it for the amount of craft sodas and jasmine tea drinks you get access to. My favorite was the passionfruit oolong tea and the Momo Paradise-exclusive tokyo melon soda. At the end of our meal, we had a choice of 3 ice cream flavors - mint chocolate chip, blueberry cheesecake and vanilla. We got the latter two and added some red bean to the vanilla ice cream, and I even put some of the ice cream in a cup of root beer to make a lil root beer float. read more

Surprisingly good sukiyaki. The broth is the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and umami. The ingredients are of high quality. The wagyu was worth the price, especially the chuck eye. The sodas were very unique. Even the ice cream at the end was great. Extremely friendly and attentive service across the board by Humberto and his colleagues. read more

Service is usually quick and the quality of the meats are good, especially the pork belly. The curry side dish is the main reason why I come back. There's a parking garage behind the restaurant with lots of parking. read more

Momos Paradise offers a wide variety of delicious AYCE hotpot, ranging from their Farmers Market with fresh vegetables, side sauce bad, and drink bar for an additional $2-3 charge. Their beef shabu curry is absolutely delicious, I would highly recommend! The meat quality here is amazing, with the assortment of ingredients tasting fresh and delicious. Service is super quick and attentive and is always willing to accommodate! This place has everything you could want and more in an AYCE hotpot. I chose the Shabu Shabu Soup base that was simple, yet delicious. I highly reccomend Momos to anyone visiting Arcadia and looking for a savory bite. Although pricey, with an automatic 18% employee service charge, you're looking at about $77 for two people, plus tax. Be mindful of this if you're looking to save your money, but definitely come if you want savory meat and exceptional service and food. I'd say that Momo's is well worth the price. They even serve complementary ice cream after your meal :) read more

This place requires reservations. Came here on a Sunday at 6:00. Place was not full yet. Asked if we could get seated and the girl at the front said "probably not...its highly recommended to make a reservation.". If you won't take walk ins why don't you say that. Say reservations only. read more

We made reservations at 6:15, but didn't get seated until 6:30-6:45. Besides the really good meat quality, I think this place was ok. I didn't get the drink package, so many I'm missing out on that? The restaurant itself was pretty dirty, in my opinion, and when they run out of items, it takes awhile to get it refilled. It could also be they're short staffed :( read more

The service is wonderful! My friends and I had Brian and Shota as our servers and they were so attentive and sweet the whole time. They checked in on us so we didn't have any trouble with the wait time. They accidentally gave me vanilla ice cream but made up for the mistake with the PRESENTATION of the strawberry ice cream! They were both incredibly welcoming and kind. They even gave us our craft sodas for free. 10/10 would come again ‍ read more

We arrived early evening on a quiet Sunday night as a party of four 5 minutes before our reservation but ended up in waiting an additional 15 minutes for a table to be cleaned. It appeared as if they were short staffed which is understandable, however, I'd noticed the hostess/cashier walked into the room near the door and was just standing there and chatting with her coworkers while a customer was waiting to pay. It's a shame that the customer had to call her out of the room to finish paying the bill, but even worse, she didn't look at him at all during the process or say anything and just handed him the receipt and went back to the room. It was a very disappointing sight to see. Being our first time here, our server Brandon, explained the menu and the process thoroughly so we could understand. We ordered a couple plates of each meat type and grabbed veggies and drinks from the farmers market. The only complaint I have on the food side is that the sauces were limited to the goma and ponzu. While the choices were not bad, a wider selection would be better in my opinion. Other than that, everything tasted good and Brandon was very attentive to our needs and the rest of his tables. We'll be back sometime in the future and hopefully by then they'll resolve their staffing issues. read more

AYCE shabu shabu and reservations are recommended as this place fills up around dinner time! 6 different types of meat: 4 beef, 2 pork, and chicken thigh. Our favorite was the beef Chuck eye. The plates of meat come out very quickly! All other toppings are self serve like noodles, vegetables, and dipping sauce ingredients. They also have curry as a appetizer which was so delicious! Pro tip: put the udon in the curry! (Cool udon in the shabu broth first). Love the curry udon noodles! You can choose up to 2 broths and we got tonkatsu and shabu shabu. Both had pretty light, clean flavors. Ayce drinks are an additional costs post-COVID but the selection looks yummy! Water is also self-serve by the other drinks FYI. For dessert, they had 3 ice cream flavors, vanilla, strawberry shortcake and cookies & cream. I was hoping for Asian flavored ice cream but cookies & cream tasted fine. Come hungry or come for lunch! Lunch is $25.95 and dinner is $34.95. I thought dinner price was a little steep with the limited variety so def get your monies worth with multiple orders! read more

Most importantly: By reservation only! We tried visiting without a reservation and we were turned away. The food is well worth the price. The thick curry with rice was excellent. Meat and all the vegetables at the self service area were high quality. However, no seafood. Your protein choices are limited to pork, beef and chicken. Service left a lot to be desired. The server who initially introduced himself was never seen again. We had a hard time flagging anyone down because the staff all like to gather in the corner. The restaurant charges an automatic 18% for service. During our visit, we only managed 3 rounds of meat. There are meatballs at the self service area, so we filled up on those. read more

Momo Paradise was great all-round AYCE Shabu Shabu experience that provided a limited selection of quality ingredients as well as tasty filler options. If you intend to go, try to get a reservation ahead of time. While I had some qualms with the 90 minute time limit and the watery Jasmine Milk Tea, I would still love to come back in the future. MY ORDER: ($34.95/ per person) Weekend Dinner AYCE Shabu Shabu SOUP BASES: I chose the Tomato and the Tonkotsu soup base. The tomato base started off tasting fairly light, but with the addition of a couple tomato slices from the self-serve bar, it became a rich and acidic soup that helped to counter the fattiness of the meats. The Tonkotsu soup was a light and creamy soup to start off with and peaked in flavor during the middle of the meal. However, it was a bit too salty and fatty by the end. MEATS: My favorite cuts of meat were the Kurobuta (Berkshire) Pork Shoulder and the Beef Short Plate which were both tender and tasty. These two cuts were also the fattiest meats. The kurobuta slices in particular come with a fair section of fat that made it look like a cut of pork belly DRINK GARDEN: I had a glass of Jasmine Milk Tea with Crystal Boba, Coffee Jelly, Sweet "Azuki" Red Bean. The milk tea was very watered down unfortunately and I regret getting such a tall glass. The sweet Yuzu Jasmine tea on the other hand was delicious. The add-ons were all good. Note: the sweet crystal jelly boba provided here is not your regular chewy tapioca boba. SELF-SERVE BAR: There was a good variety of mushrooms, tofu, meatballs, vegetables and noodles. While some places may have more items, I felt the options selected here we're my typical go-to shabu shabu items and was fully satisfied with the selection (see picture). SAUCES: The available dipping sauce options are both different and limited, but all enjoyable. I wasn't a fan of using their sesame sauce they brought with the soup base because it reminded me of a salad dressing. I did however enjoy the spicy shoyu (soy sauce) as well as the non-spicy chili oil. The curry also acted as a great sauce. FILLER: Of the filler items they had, my favorite were the curry and udon salad. The Japanese curry wasn't as rich as the curry you'd get from a curry restaurant, but it was delicious and tasted like a homemade Japanese curry with small cuts of beef, onion and chunks of carrots. The buta shabu udon salad was tasty as well (I have never had beef and noodles in my salad at a shabu shabu place) and gave me something simple to munch on as I waited for the soup to boil. CONS: - a 90 minute time limit v. the typical 120 minute time limit really makes a difference and I did not feel like I was able to explore the self-serve areas as much as I would have liked to - the milk tea tasted very watered down, I regret getting such a tall glass right off the bat - the oyster mushroom from the self-serve bar was tough, I won't be getting that again TIPS: - The staff is very attentive and meat orders will be refilled instantaneously - Don't hesitate to ask the servers for a boba straw - A 18% service charge is automatically included read more

I have 2 words. High end. If you want one of the more premium all you can eat shabu places, this is the spot. In Japanese, shabu shabu sounds like "swish swish". What do you do with thinly sliced meats and a hot pot of water? You "swish swish" until your meat is ready. My girlfriend loved her first Momo Paradise experience. Come before they open on the weekends to make sure you get the first seating. If not, this place can get packed real fast. read more

As a human trash can that's a fiend for meat I've always wanted to try Momo Paradise. I have to say it's probably the most worth all you can eat hotpot place period. Came here for lunch and it was basically $30 for all you can eat. They also had a really cool all you can drink (not alcohol) but boba and different teas. Oolong passion fruit tea with some crystal boba? Say less! The staff was super friendly and constantly would check up on us, meaning endless supply of meat! After about 40 boxes and food coma they also offer ice cream. Pina Colada overrated but vanilla and cookies and cream hit the spot. On the side they had a pretty small vegetable and fish ball table but to be honest what more do you need than some bak choi, cabbage, and some fish balls? They also served rice and curry. I have to say the curry was better than I thought I would be and I would definitely try a bite if you've never been but not good enough to get a full bowl. Save your room for the hotpot! Overall? 5/5 for quality meats, service, and food coma! read more

Adrianna our server was the nicest and most attentive! I had so much fun talking to her, it really felt like chatting with one of my friends back home! I always stop by MoMo whenever I'm in town because I love the OG spot in Taiwan. The meat quality is great and worth the price. Ill say the self serve counter was a little messy during the middle of dinner service but not an issue at all. Excellent selection of all you can drink beverage options too. Highly recommend a try if youre on the fence, and ask for Adrianna! read more

Food and overall experience is still good BUT dropping a star because we realized just when we are already paying that they charge extra for the drinks. Typically, the drinks are included in AYCE especially if the drinks are self serve like everything else. If you want to charge separate, which is fine, but that should be clearly labeled at the drink station, and the server should have said something upfront. There was none of that. HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW THERES SEPARATE CHARGE IF THE CUPS ARE RIGHT THERE, just like the plates are right there at the veggie station?! The drinks were just ok and all of us would have skipped had we known there's extra charge. So we all felt like we got duped. I bet most customers never read the bills closely. With this kind of price, selections are still very limited, and having to pay extra for drink?! Sorry but other places are starting to look a lot more attractive. read more

This is my favorite AYCE hot pot place in SoCal. I've been to the Rowland Heights location back in 2019 and enjoyed myself, but didn't think much of it until my love for hot pot grew over the years since I'm into IF Low-carb meals nowadays. I've been to a few AYCE hotpot places in SoCal including Shabuya and All That Shabu, but this places remains my top AYCE hot pot place for a few reasons. (1) You can and SHOULD rsvp online to secure your table to avoid long waits. (2) The staff has always been approachable and attentive. (3) Their venue and interior is clean. (4) The quality of their ingredients are fresh and great. (5) Yes, they don't offer as many cuts or soup bases as some of the other places, but guess what????? They provide higher quality cuts of meats and sides. (6) They serve booze (beer and sake). I like the fact that their venue isn't huge so they can do some QUALITY/CROWD control to keep things tidy and running nicely. I've been here 2 times and plan to return when I visit LA soon. I'm not a greedy person and don't want everything under the sun, so this place is a good balance of quality ingredients, ambiance, service, and price point. I did enjoy their soup bases even if they don't have a spicy one and they have a good amount of sauces. read more

Momo Paradise is a popular Japanese shabu-shabu restaurant with chains across different countries. I believe Arcadia's is the first location based in the U.S. but they've opened a couple more since then. The quality of meat here, curry (yes, the curry), and AYCE makes it stand out from all the other places. How it works: - Order your soup base from the waiter when you sit down - choose between classic Shabu-Shabu, Tomato, Tonkotsu and Sukiyaki. I usually rotate between the Tomato and Sukiyaki. - You also order the meats from the waiter. Unlike other places, they're pretty quick on turnaround with the meats so don't feel like you need to order a lot up front. If you're a first timer, I suggest ordering 1 of each kind of meat to start and then from there decide which one you like the most. My personal favorite is the beef short plate (soo fatty, yum!) - Once you've ordered, you can get up and grab your own drink and shabu-shabu ingredients from the food bar or what they call "Farmer's Market" Highlights: - Drink station aka "Drink Garden" (you have to pay extra ~$2.50 but it includes unlimited drinks) - includes drinks like milk tea, passion fruit tea, sodas, etc. - In addition to shabu-shabu ingredients, the "Farmer's Market" also includes things like udon, salad and curry - Japanese curry rice is so good here AND they serve it with fukujinzuke (red pickles) - High quality beef - They offer 1 ice cream per person at the end. The black cherry flavor is my favorite, but unfortunately they switch up the flavors so not always a guarantee they'll have it. Note that it's pretty hard to get reservations last minute and the wait is long, so I do suggest reserving ahead or arriving early (~5pm meal times) for walk-ins. read more

Pros: 1. I like how they offer the curry and rice. I know it's a cheaper item that fills you up so you eat less of the expensive meat during AYCE, but I just really like the cooked onions in this curry, and I like the curry better than the typical make-your-own-hot-pot-sauce. 2. The meat was good, esp. the pork belly which I normally think is too fatty elsewhere, but for here it just melts in your mouth and is so delicious. 3. I like how they have whole green onions (big pieces) instead of only chopped onions. 4. The yuzu jasmine tea is really good. 5. The tofu fishcake cubes are delish. Cons: 1. The curry isn't hot enough. By the time I eat it it is a little colder than room temp. 2. Normally I like wood ear mushrooms but I do not like the ones they have here. Tastes funny and kind of hard. 3. Even though we had a reservation, it took some time to get seated and the service at the front desk wasn't that good. 4. The ice cream is not necessarily bad, but it's below average and a bit tasteless. read more

This is one of my go to spots if im wanting good shabu shabu. They have a good meat variety. They also have a veggie /noodle bar and is unlimited servings. Service is bad. They added service charge 18% (not tips per the owner) first then tax. This is a fraud!

Lots of changes since my last review. First off, don't even think about walking in for a table. They are usually fully booked on the weekends. Make reservations a couple weeks in advanced Secondly, they have limited some of their items. They don't have lychee jelly or boba anymore, and replaced it with crystal boba. Prices have gone up significantly. I remember when the drink station was included in the set price. It doesn't anymore. It's $35/pp and I believe an additional $3 for drinks plus the 18% service charge. Well worth the price for the quality of food. My family dines here A LOT and we have come to a consensus that our favorite server is Anderson. He is SO accommodating to our needy family. He's always on top of his game. read more

My favorite AYCE hot pot restaurant. We always get the Tonkotsu and Sukiyaki soup bases. I love adding some of their spicy chili oil(?) into the Tonkotsu soup to add more flavor. They give you a raw egg with the Sukiyaki so you can dip your meat into it. It always hits the spot on a cold and rainy day. Tastes even better with a bottle of sake! read more

I was honestly disappointed in this place especially for a 4-star place. The broths taste pretty much the same. It is watery and lack depth for the price I am paying (about ~$42/person including the automatically charged 18% gratuity as well). Probably the best broth out of all is the sukiyaki. The only good part here is the meat probably. The vegetables are not fresh and the sauce is "meh" too. The complimentary drinks are okay; complimentary for a reason. The service is great though, not much comment on that. Ambiance is okay too. Just a typical shabu-shabu place. A bit odd that spoons are not provided to enjoy the broths. I simply think for that much of a price I am paying, it is better to go somewhere else unless you are only aiming for the meat and not the whole pot combination if that makes sense. read more

Pros: delicious ice cream with great flavors that they mentioned do change from time to time (think blueberry cheesecake and chocolate brownie); good staff; fast turnaround Cons: stained cups for the drinks; occasional dirty bowls; tiny flies in the food! There was one person in my party who fished out at least 15 tiny flies from their hot pot. The flies were deceased and were floating around in the hot pot, their wings and legs were clearly visible. We put some of them on a napkin and showed our server. He then took the napkin to show the kitchen staff, so we didn't get pictures of it, and he agreed that the flies were likely from the veggies. He also mentioned the store had insect problems with certain veggie shipments for about a week or so in the run up to our visit. This situation was very disappointing as the person with the insect infested hot pot was someone we were celebrating that night and treating to dinner! In response to the infested hot pot, our server switched out the person's hot pot, applied a 20% discount, and took off the drink charge. This truly was not the fault of our server and we made sure specifically that we tipped extra. However, the person had lost their appetite by then. It was truly a disgusting experience for them - and for all of us who saw it. read more

AYCE (All You Can Eat) Shabu Shabu, lessssgo! Momo has locations all throughout Asia, but they opened their first location in the United States in 2016 in Rowland Heights. Of course, I checked it out then but Rowland is a bit of a trek from the 626! Fast forward, they open this branch in Arcadia - woot. It's relatively straightforward - they have 4 soup bases and 4 meats to choose from. They also have the yin yang vessel so you can pick two broths to share! From there, you can mix & match any meats. If you order the sukiyaki broth and have the beef short plate, it's like eating gyudon. Yum. The veggies (or the farmers market) is self-serve. I've always found their veggies to be super fresh! The marketplace also has beef shabu curry & rice! My favorite part is the drink garden, where you can find AYCE boba (boba, crystal jelly & coffee jelly!) as well as craft soda! I'm not even a soda drinker but when you have flavors like mo-mo peach soda and tokyo melon, you have to try 'em right?! Lastly, to top off your meal, you get ice cream! The flavors change regularly. It gets pretty packed, so there's a 90 minute dining limit! Try to make a rezzie if you can! FYI - 18% service charge is included. read more

Went here on a Friday night, not too packed and we were able to get a table for 5. Would definitely come back for the AYCE experience and access to a variety of their boba drinks and notably tasty curry. Great service and the insides was very modern and clean. Seating for five was pretty good and felt like we had plenty of space for our meat/soups/veggies. Broth wise, got their sukiyaki and tonkotsu. Pretty flavorful and tasty. Meat quality was solid, liked their pork shoulder and beef chuck eye. I liked their boba bar, enjoyed the passion fruit tea as well as the jasmine milk tea. Their beef curry and rice was an interesting addition to the palette. Their veggie selection was good but could have had more options in my opinion. read more

*3.5 2 for $12 bowl deal! Got the Beef Sukiyaki Bowl and the Beef Curry Bowl - one of their most popular items. The sukiyaki bowl had a sweet and savory broth, but I didn't like the dish as much because of the toppings. The curry bowl was my favorite of the two. It had a good flavor and had enough sauce to cover my rice with each bite. I did wish that they added the beef on top of the curry rather than under it since it was hard to find and seemed rather sparse. read more
