Everyone answered my questions as best they could, and the transparency they displayed was unique. If you have questions about a cat or dog, they will pull up all the information they have - good, bad, and ugly - to help inform your decision. One staff member shared that their better-behaved animals are the ones that are out in the public at places such as PetSmart and Pet Supplies Plus. That makes perfect sense, and the staff at those secondary places can give you even more information as to their behavior. This place is doing a tremendous service to the community, and I am proud to be a supporter of their efforts.

Overall, the idea of this organization is amazing! It's absolutely fantastic that the animals are…read morebeing saved from kill shelters and I wish them the best of luck at getting adopted! Especially as a nonprofit. However, during my experience there I noticed a few things that were a bit off putting to me as someone who loves working with animals and the community that comes with it! Such as being treated as if I were dumb/incapable during the job training, even though there was absolutely no structure going into it, it was unpaid, and I was still learning the ropes, it seemed like it was just inconvenient to them that I was there at all and towards the end of the shift one of the employees even yelled at all of the dogs to "shut up" multiple times as she cleaned. The aggression was certainly alarming. Of course, being autistic I do sometimes get in my own head about these things, but something about it just didn't feel right. Other than that, the animals were sweethearts so I don't regret the time I got to spend with them, it's just the employees were incredibly judgemental and there was no real process/organization behind the scenes for training. The hiring agent wasn't even there! So, I hope this helps anyone looking for some insight from a different perspective. I still can't believe how mean that employee was to the dogs for simply barking, as dogs tend to do.

We walked in with a stray dog--left helpless in our neighborhood--and what we got was hostility,…read morenot help. The moment we explained that we'd lost all our ID and belongings, the staffer launched into an interrogation, asking if we had car insurance--not to protect the dog, but to prove we could afford it. It felt like being grilled by a detective rather than assisted by a caring professional. He even questioned why our phone number was "in the system," as if we were suspects, not people doing a kind act. Rather than offering comfort or solutions, he made it clear he preferred we drop the dog on the street than bring it into their shelter. The entire interaction was rude, accusatory, and shockingly unhelpful. And get this--I didn't hear a single bark or meow while waiting. No animals visible, no life inside, just an empty, cold waiting area. This place prioritizes paperwork and skepticism over saving lives. It was so bad that I genuinely believe a homeless animal would have a better chance finding help out in the elements than through this "shelter." Their interrogation tactics do nothing but discourage well-intentioned people trying to do the right thing. If you find a stray, don't bring it here--you'll face attitude, suspicion, and maybe even be turned away.
