One of my friends remembered this wee shop in St. Enoch so we decided to give it a go. For what it is, the ice cream was ok. Reminded me of Big Licks in Finneston. There were loads of flavours to choose from and a variety of cones and toppings if you so wish. The lady behind the counter wasn't the friendliest of ice cream scoopers, but I'm not sure how much more friendly should could have been seeing as how she's there alone all day waiting on people to buy ice cream. She surely seemed in a hurry to get us taken care of and on our way, which wasn't a bad thing. I now know where to go when I'm in the city centre if I'm looking for an ice cream treat that isn't just a frozen lolly out of the local shops.

Wandered into the St Enoch Center for some late night shopping & came upon this gem once again so I…read morethought I should give this place a wee shoutout! It's a cute stand in the middle of the mall with a few high stools in the shape of ice cream cones facing a countertop where you can enjoy your treats. There are about 18 flavours you can choose from including classics like mint chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. If you want something different they have Irn Bru, kinder, bounty, Scottish tablet, crunchy and a couple more delicious flavours. I tried the bounty and the Irn Bru flavours and both were lovely! Nice change from a McDonalds McFlurry when you are looking for a sweet treat in the mall.

Hamilton

Behind a retail park, tucked in amoungst the maze that is Hamilton's one way system is not where I…read morewould expect to find a gem of an ice cream place. But that is what Equi's is. There is also a chip shop and a bit to sit in. Unfortunately, I have never sampled either of those so this review is all about ice cream. I'm sure I should dazzle you with some facts about how long they have been established and all the awards they have won. But I can't. See when I go to Equi's all I'm thinking about is which flavour is going in ma belly. With two cabinets to chose from it takes me quite a while picking which of the 20 odd flavours to eat. It's why I take smudge, people are far more forgiving of indecision from a small person. But it's rather unfair seeing as she decides in nano-seconds and never suffers from selectors-doubt. This visit I chose a chocolate dipped cone of cherry vanilla ice-cream, g got a chocolate dipped cone of mango ice-cream and smudge a tub of chocolate ice-cream. It was a very quiet journey home with with everybody concentrating far too hard on their ice creams to risk melt related wastage on conversation. Equi's ice cream is creamy, soft and the flavours are always perfect. Punchy, strong and guaranteeing that I'll be back soon.

Don't have much to say about Equi's, except from the fact it's absolutely amazing and the ice cream…read morethey sell is glorious! Equi's has been there for as long as I can remember, and has both an ice cream parlour section to the store, and a wee cafe/restaurant section which has a basic chip shop/traditional cafe type menu! Don't understand how this place has a one star review from someone, you cannot beat the ice cream from here!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share this experience due to serious food…read moresafety concerns. We ordered from Celino's on August 19th, and one of the dishes -- the Allo Scoglio Pasta -- contained spoiled crayfish. The smell was unmistakable and completely inedible. We didn't eat anything else in the order out of caution, as the risk of food poisoning was too high. I grew up in Greece and know seafood -- this was clearly off. Given that my mother was previously sick for weeks due to bad crayfish, we weren't willing to take any chances and threw out the entire meal. I contacted the restaurant immediately. The manager acknowledged the issue and initially offered a replacement meal for collection only, which felt dismissive considering the seriousness of the situation. I was told I'd be called the next day by the area manager -- that call never came. Eventually, someone called around 7pm and all they did was refund one meal and insinuate that we didn't know what we were talking about. It was condescending and disappointing. Expecting us to collect a free meal from the same kitchen that nearly served us spoiled seafood is not a solution -- it's a lack of accountability. Pointing us toward Uber Eats to resolve the issue just felt like passing the buck. Food safety should be a top priority, and the lack of proper follow-up or genuine concern from the team is alarming. I hope no one else has to experience this.

Followed by the biggest strawberry tart I've had! OMG, I can safely say the food was the best Italian food I have eaten in Scotland. whatever ingredients they use are simply wow! our waiter Alex was so attentive, had fabulous "patter" and he just completed our experience. From start to finish, we had an amazing day, and it's now my new favourite restaurant! if you want authentic Italian food with fabulous service and a very reasonable price, then Celino's is the place to go!

Wow. Talk about disappointing! I didn't think there was such a thing as a bad experience when it…read morecame to ice cream but unfortunately Soave's proved me wrong. I was really excited to try here as they used to be housed inside another shop on Main Street with limited choice but now they've opened their own parlour and seemed to have loads of options. When we entered the shop was dead except for one customer who was having a bit of trouble paying by card. We went up to choose our ice cream and were immediately asked what we wanted. When we said we needed a couple of minutes (there's between 16 and 20 flavours as well as loads of cone options and cakes) it was clear that they weren't happy about this. I'm not good with this sort of thing so rushed into choosing. I ordered a normal strawberry ice cream cone for my wee one. They then moaned because it was too melted and told me to choose another - pretty much telling me to choose the raspberry ripple because it was the only one mostly frozen. Fab customer service right there! Hubby ordered a waffle cone with cookie dough (?) ice cream which came to almost five quid!! I'm no cheapie, but that should have been the best damn cone of his life! (Spoiler: it wasn't.)I was still trying to decide and because the man serving us was so impatient I rushed into ordering a tablet ice cream cone. It was over £8 for 3 ice cream cones - 2 of which were really basic. My tablet ice cream was rubbish to be blunt. There was one tiny scoop with no flavour to it at all and teeny measly crumbs of tablet. It was also almost liquified before I left the store. I had to rush it down to avoid wearing it. We'd decided to give this store a try as it seemed exciting and new, but it was unwelcoming, over-priced and just not of great quality. It was a really poor experience that only warrants it's one star on my toddler's reaction to his first cone. Only a couple of yards up the road I could buy a litre of delicious Equis for less than we paid for our cones - and next time that's exactly what I'll be doing.
