MML Physical Therapy
Dawn D.

I love my new physical therapy center. The staff are amazing and efficient. I have been to other physical therapy centers and they point you to a machine or give you an exercise and walk away to gossip with coworkers or play on their phones. This place actually gives you the therapy your body needs, And... the office is super cute and fun.

Insurance friendly practice! Do yourself a favor and look someone else.

Was referred to this location and looked up reviews prior to coming in. I was impressed at first based on the reviews and the environment. Front staff was very unfriendly over the phone when I called in. They appeared to not want to help nor want my business. Turns out they also feel it's appropriate to hang up on customers as well. Even though I had bad service over the phone, I still gave these guys a chance. When I arrived everybody appeared to be friendly and courteous. To be honest I thought we all got along well. Only after the fact I found out they manipulated reports and notes on what I did. Turns out this practice appears to be patient friendly but they are actually Insurance friendly only. If you think about its the Insurance company that pays them, so their loyalty is with them. If I could help anyone in the future from avoiding this place do so. Patient friendly Physical therapy practices are hard to find. The more patient friendly a practice is the better you will be off. Hope this helps.

Introduced himself which docs rarely do in this town. Examined the knee, asked some questions & drained the fluid. I am able to walk again. Hooray! Unlike the ysual "elective TKR surgery" as usual? I've never in my 30+ years of extensive Medical knowledge & experience seen a Surgeon of any Specialty....just freeze up on me, just because of the vast knowledge of the actual Minimally invasive Surgical procedure itself, (aside from other things?) He actually, said to me, "You talk like you know more than me?" Really now? How can a surgeon say that.. or feel that, unless they are feeling threatened or intimidated by knowledge? It was very disappointing. As I went throughout the whole weekend in deep thought, and decided to get a 2nd opinion from there. As he did not agree to do the TKR Surgery specifically, as it is medically necessary for me? And it all comes down to the Money. Shame on you, putting Money before your patient's lives! (I see that more & more in this Healthcare System.) People, use your own dicernment, and read between the lines. He didn't even go over over the X-Rays in front of me, or even discuss my condition? As if he thinks this is by Telepathy? It really left me perplexed! So, without discussing my personal Medical information, and all the extensive Medical knowledge I have? I can clearly say, "Go elsewhere fast" He will make you feel so small and insignificant, humiliate you in some way, & just take full control of your choices!! By the way, beware Nevada is the state that is the highest paid in the Nation.. for Doctors! What does that tell you? A whole lot...

Afternoon appointments seem to go faster than mid-morning. The office has an in-house MRI machine, which I used last week. The appointment was easy and the attendant made me feel comfortable the entire time. Today, I stopped in for my MRI results and luckily I don't have a rotator cuff tear!! That was a concern due to my symptoms. I did have a minor labrum tear, which is relatively common due to my age. It's deep inside the shoulder, and not affiliated with the pain I was having on my outside shoulder and upper arm. To help alleviate my discomfort, they suggested a cortisone shot. I could come back for another every few months, as needed. Andrew W. Is a PA on the team and he's excellent at giving shots! He and the nurse prepped the materials, used cooling to numb the area, insert the shot into my rotator cuff muscle on my back, and then apply a laser for healing before taping on a bandage. It was very efficient and fast, plus relatively painless!! I was so impressed! If you need a cortisone shot, I would definitely ask for Andrew W., if possible!

I ended up going to urgent care the day afyer Christmas and got out on 2 weeks of antibiotics because it got infected and a couple areas tore and made a hole. Even the urgent care doc said those stitches need to come out ASAP! Stitches came out Monday, even the tech was saying they were left in too long. Oh well. No appointment necessary. Perfect! Or so I thought. I came in on crutches, barely able to put weight on one leg. The waiting area is not wide enough for someone on crutches to get to a chair. There were two staff members behind the glass. They both looked like they were having a rough day and the office had just opened. No greeting. Just a look. Not a welcoming one. Eventually I was called up to the window and asked if I had an appointment. My reply..."No. I thought this was a walk in clinic". The woman who was speaking to me asked a few more questions about insurance, then told me the system was down and to go have a seat. Once again I had to hobble down the very narrow aisle carrying my crutches while limping back to my seat. I felt bad for these stressed out ladies working behind the desk. However, it seemed that no one had any regard for me or any of the other patients waiting to be seen for acute injuries. I left this "clinic" and headed to UMC quick care where I was treated with an exceptional level of care. I don't recommend this "Fast Track Clinic". Two stars is generous.

Both of these therapists received their advanced graduate degrees in PT at the University of Southern California. I am more than happy to say I just finished a successful course of treatment with Jeff Dietrich for advanced degenerative changes in my lumbar back, including severe spinal canal stenosis, nerve compression, disc protrusions and bulges, and multilevel lumbar facet arthropathy. I am a late-70s female, lifelong athlete and musician who has no intention of sitting around. About Jeff Dietrich: Jeff's technical expertise and advanced knowledge of spine rehabilitation are world-class. I say this because he is the 5th physical therapist I have seen in the 7 years, and the only one who was able to use multiple approaches to solve my pain issues and relearn proper body mechanics--without steroid injections or surgery. On a personal level, he is meticulously focused on the patient's needs and observant of their personal goals. Jeff is also an excellent listener and teacher with the emotional intelligence to motivate anyone willing to commit to the consistent work of physical therapy. I am very grateful that my physician, William Rosenberg, M.D., referred me to JD for rehab. Not only is the staff friendly and efficient, but now I can again participate in the physical activities that bring me joy, without the pain. Big "thanks" to all!

We went to a different office previously and we wished we would've started here. From the staff to Dr. Ong himself, what a difference from the other office! I will share our experience so hopefully I save someone else some hassle. I will update this review with his knee surgery results periodically. Any negative reviews I saw about this office, were about the doctor's bedside manner. We actually LOVED his straightforward bedside manner. We aren't here to find a bestie. We need a knowledgeable doctor that knows his stuff, who will perform a detailed surgery with incredible results. Upon leaving our first visit with Dr. Ong, my husband expressed how much more confidence he has with Dr. Ong than he ever felt with the other doctor. He didn't get the car salesman feel like we did at the other office. We didn't feel like just a number ( or just a dollar sign $$$) but we actually felt this office cared. My husband has a complete ACL tear among other knee tears. His work won't let him go back to work until he gets his knee repaired - which would be great IF he was getting paid. His FMLA only saves his job for 3 months. Trying the other office first, they wasted FIVE WEEKS of his recovery time with only an MRI to show from it. Next I will compare Dr. Ong's office with Advanced Orthopedics. ONG'S OFFICE: You call- and just imagine, someone answers! OTHER OFFICE: Waiting on hold for 30 minutes before you go to voicemail OR worse yet, waiting on hold 30 minutes before they hang up on you so you have to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes. ONG'S OFFICE: He listens to what happened to cause your injury, answers your questions and then gets down to business. He does a thorough exam, explains your findings while showing your MRI imaging and uses a knee model to give a detailed explanation of what's wrong and what needs to be done. OTHER OFFICE: You see two other trainees before you see the doctor. The doctor comes in, tells a joke. Touches your knee and stays they'll start working on prior authorization. ONG'S OFFICE: "We'll have this request in by tomorrow. My name is Myra if you have any questions..." OTHER OFFICE: "It's not turned in yet. We'll get that done within the next 7-10 business days for a prior authorization request." ONG'S OFFICE: "Where would you like your FMLA paperwork sent to? I can CC you on it as well." OTHER OFFICE: "Your FMLA paperwork will be completed in 7-10 days. We don't email paperwork. You'll have to come pick it up."

Ok, wow He must be really busy today. He offered me an injection to see if it might help as I was still working. That didn't help but for a few days. Made another appt, and mind you my co-pays are $55.00 each visit. 2nd appt, he gave me a different type of injection. That too didn't help too well, but a little. I'm 67, and knowing I need a replacement, as he told me last visit that's the ONLY thing that will really help me, I made a 3rd appt to get it going for the surgery. MY MOUTH FELL TO THE FLOOR WHEN HE TOLD ME I HAVE TO WAIT 3 MONTHS AFTER INJECTIONS TO GET THE SURGERY! He never..ever told me this! I was now off work on disability. I started to tear up a little, I was shocked he didn't tell me. I told him, you never told me this!! His reply was...It's pretty standard knowledge. Well...obviously not as I didn't know! Asked him what am I supposed to do now, I'm off work. He then just shrugged his shoulders, saying..I don't know. Shrug your shoulders??? How unprofessional can you get? As I'm now twiddling my thumbs for 3 months, I found a different Dr, but after 3 months are up, I'm not getting and type of disability payments from my work for 30 days, then my long term disability kicks in. 30 days with no pay!!! I can't afford that. But I'm stuck!! Had he told me before he gave me those injections, that I would have to wait 3 months, i would not have had the injections, because my main reason for seeing him was to get the surgery over with, as I'm not getting any younger!! He doesnt take the time to educate or inform his patients about anything! Didn't say if I should stay off my knee, do I walk, do exercises, use ice, use heat...maybe physical therapy. Nothing!!! Just prescribed me medication. Horrible on giving us the time we deserve and tell us what the hell is going on!! Now I get an email from his office as he's no longer in practice. I wonder why. Very fishy practice...
