There isn't one bad thing I can say about this office, they have been nothing but genuine, caring, and compassionate to me as a patient.
In 2013 I was in a rollover accident at 17 years old and my back has been in very poor condition ever since. I have been getting treatments and seeing a pain doctor monthly ever since, just to be able to function. Then, in mid 2022, my fiancé and I got into another accident when someone pulled out of a parking lot and t-boned us on the passenger side where I was sitting, and I was in such excruciating pain that I wasn't even able to work anymore. I was referred to Dr. Kabins when my neurologist, who is also a pain management doctor, saw my MRI images and found the problem immediately.
When I saw Dr. Kabins for the first time, he looked through my entire medical record, looked at my images and empathized with me because he could see the pain that I was in. He told me that since I was only 27, he really did not want to do a spinal fusion on me, but instead introduced me to the mobi-c cervical arthroplasty implant. He sat and talked to me about it and answered all of my questions for over an hour, and made sure that I went for a second and even third opinion with any other surgeon I chose before he would schedule me for surgery. I ended up getting those opinions, and Dr. Kabins set me up for surgery so quickly! I'm in the medical field so I knew all of the right questions to ask, but any time that I would ask a confusing question to the normal person, he would always answer me and then proceed to explain in full detail to my fiancé who was with me as well.
He communicated with both myself and my fiancé every single step of the way, and his bedside manner was out of this world! He made both of us feel so at ease and had my anxiety go from an extreme high to feeling confident in the procedure. The surgery in his words went "perfectly" and he took the time afterwards to call my fiancé and even my mom to tell them how it went. He made sure to check on me every day after the surgery, AND check in with my family. This man is not only an incredible surgeon, but an incredibly intelligent, empathetic, compassionate human being in general. I always say this, and I truly stand by it when I say that this man saved my life. I went from barely being able to move my neck, to being able to work and exercise 3 times a week again.
A big thank you to Dr. Kabins and his amazing office staff. They have all treated me like family, and have never been anything less than wonderful to me and my family. I had this surgery in 2023 and I would do it all over again if he was my surgeon. read more
