Doctor bigger is great. My surgery went amazing. He was very thorough for my surgery and he doesn't pry into what happened. Which is something i greatly appreciated. I only have one complaint. The past two appointments I've waited 1 hour to see him. My appointment was at 215pm i checked in at 2. I didn't see him until 315 pm. Don't get me wrong when he sees you he talks to you and listens to you but the moment he walks out the door, it kinda feels rushed. I've needed doctors notes for the past two appointments but it seems like the person making the notes doesNt care. The note is a generic copy and paste for everyone. It doesn't say what i was seen for. That i had surgery. It's very rushed. They don't review it. I don't know. You would think they would make it more formal looking. And actually check off what restrictions apply to me. I just hope my job accepts this one. Sighs. I wish they would take a breathe. This is for my job. I can wait as long as i have to to make sure the note is correct the first time. I shouldn't have to keep saying. It needs my name. It needs my diagnosis. It needs to say a date. If i could write it out for them to sign i would. If that made it easier. And then they can copy and paste THAT onto a letter head and have it signed i would. Sighs. But let's see what happens. I have been suffering with shoulder pain for the last year and had seen chiropractors and another orthopedic surgeon who did everything he could do to avoid surgery but ultimately recommended it. Dr Bigler destroyed my sons College Basketball career. My son went to Dr Bigler for a simple acl tear surgery. After 10 days of rehab he was in terrible pain and had significant pain and bruising in his quad. Went back to Bigler who took an Xray and stated that he had found that he had left a pin in his bone that was protruding out and he would have to remove it as it was the source of his issue. Metal left in his knee!!!! so he agreed to remove it free of charge...laughable....of course!!! He left a foreign object in his knee! Told us the surgery would be a quick one and he would do it the Tues after the weekend. I refused and he agreed to do it the next morning. day and he was sorry. Took him in for the "short surgery" and waited and waited. Bigler emerged to let us know that the surgery took much longer because when he opened blood squirted out. he stated it was then he realized he had knicked his artery during the first surgery. Hence the pain and bruising it was a hematoma that needed to be drained and his artery need to be cauterized and now leg needed to be immobilized. that night he had to be admitted to Summerlin hospital for pain management due to the unexpected extended surgery and Bigler not managing his pain. The immobilization caused atrophy and extreme weakening of the quad. Now after the 10 days rehab begins again. Jump ahead another few weeks and pain is now relocated to also behind the kneecap. We sought out another Dr. He did an Mri and found yet more metal that was left in the knee from the surgery!!!!! It had set up behind his kneecap and had formed scar tissue. He also found other fragments floating inside the knee. He explained that it happened because there is a small window to drill trough the bone. If it is not met the drill can loose metal fragments. He also said that the area should have been cleaned thoroughly because of it before closing! It was not. Now the kid has had .3 surgeries and one hospitalization. His recovery now has to start all over . The time line made it so that he would not be able to return to the next season and had to Red Shirt. Jump ahead to now, His coach is transferring schools and Bigler's hatchet job left my son with no film to use to enter the portal to transfer. Believe me when I say you do not want this man anywhere near you! He changed to path of a life and a dream for a kid who worked his whole life to achieve. Destroyed dreams! My son went to this idiot this morning for a shoulder problem he's had since age 7. Despite having already been through physical therapy TWICE with Dr. Thomas and never getting any pain relief, they want him to do 6 MORE WEEKS OF PHYSICAL THERAPY SO THEY CAN CHARGE THOUSANDS MORE TO MY INSURANCE! They only took x-rays and didn't bother to do an MRI. I called to talk to the doctor who was by far, the most unprofessional, arrogant and rude "Doctor" I've ever had the displeasure of trying to converse with in an intelligent manner. Dr. Bigler provided amazing results for both of my knees. I was a marathon runner, but had very little cartilage on my right knee (only around the perimeter), couldn't run, and experienced pain fairly often. So Dr. Bigler used a procedure to harvest stem cells, which led to the generation of cartilage. Astoundingly, I ran a marathon 3 months and two weeks after the surgery. My knee was good, but, the rest of me wasn't used to running that long! 7 months later my left knee was hurting, and it too had lost a significant amount of cartilage. Dr. Bigler did the same procedure, and I wound up running another marathon some months later, and at the age of 60 will be doing my 25th marathon in the coming months. Just to note, I had damaged the cartilage on my knees not so much from running, but from running with improper bio-mechanics, and after two incidents in which about a half inch of cartilage broke off some five years previous (even though I could run), I learned that my health care didn't really like to pay for surgeries. In the following years, the cartilage on my knees wore away. Dr. Bigler truly restored my knees, for which I have tremendous gratitude, not only for being able to run, but also for being...able to walk! Everything was tremendously well organized, including after surgery care, and great PT. Stop looking. This is the doctor you want. I had had pain from what I thought was tennis elbow for years and had had numerous steroid shots from another doctor to try to get better to no avail. Went to Dr. Bigler as referred and after looking at the MRI, he showed that my elbow tendons were torn and he recommended surgery to reattach. His office was totally professional always, his appointments prompt and punctual and his bedside manner was impeccable. He listened intently to what I had to say, and was very patient, pleasant, thoughtful, and considerate, yet extremely knowledgable and made you feel confident you were in good hands. I had a torn Meniscus surgery 7 weeks ago, and have had nothing but a wonderful experience. I was terrified to have surgery, but Dr. Bigler and his nurse Tracey assured me it would be easy. I was still terrified!! Tracey was awesome at my pre-op appt, and walked me through what would happen from beginning to end of surgery. Everything went great! I had pretty much NO pain after surgery. Going to a show, eating out, driving on our roads and even drinking this water coming into your home is a gamble. When I needed some repair work done on my right knee I took a chance and came up with Dr. Bigler since I did not have one already that I trusted. Well what a delight it was to find him. Excellent Patient / Doctor relationship with the pre-op work and a really excellent post op and recovery. He makes his patients feel very comfortable and confident that they are in great hands. Dr. Bigler has practiced in Las Vegas for nearly 25 years, and anyone I know who has gone to him refers him to everyone they know. A friend of mine called me and told me that she had torn her ACL and went to the ER due to extreme swelling. She was referred to another doctor who she did not know or feel comfortable going to. She called me, knowing that I knew Dr. Bigler, asking who I would suggest she see and how to proceed with her injury. She told me that she had called 5 friends who had knee surgery and that all 5 had suggested Dr. Bigler. It is not surprising that he is consistently voted as one of the top doctors in Las Vegas. He is noted as a top doctor among recreational athletes as well as collegiate and professional athletes here in Las Vegas. As a big UNLV fan, it is not unusual to see Dr. Bigler down on the sidelines of a basketball or football game consulting with trainers. My husband tore his ACL and chipped a bone and from my confidence in Dr. Bigler, he will be seeing him for his upcoming surgery. To me, his experience surpasses that of any doctor I know. Lastly, his office is probably one of the nicest doctor offices I have been to in Las Vegas. Went to dr bigler with two aching knees. He suggested injections. Had a series of three injections in each knee. The pain was gone for about four months. When it came back I went back in and he suggested that I try another series. The right knee is complete and they are working on the left. Pain is gone. I've lived in Las Vegas over 30 years and have heard many times that to get great medical care, you have to leave Las Vegas. While that may be true with certain areas of medicine, that is not true with Orthopedic care and Dr Gregory Bigler. I spent a good deal of time researching the best knee surgeons in LA, Vegas, Park City, and Vail. Dr Bigler came highly recommended and has a great deal of experience treating athletes. He diagnosed and treated with arthroscopic surgery my meniscus bucket handle tear. He has a great bedside manner and is what I would call a conservative surgeon. Although surgery is how he makes his living, he still treats surgery as a last resort, and doesn't cut unnecessarily. It was definitely needed in my case and he did a great job. The surgery center located in the same office building was convenient, safe, and professional. The girls on staff at the surgery center were so great the day of surgery helping me to stay calm and relaxed. And a shout out as well to Dr Joseph Soderberg, the anesthesiologist, who was outstanding. Thanks for the great care Dr B! read more

I had a torn knee meniscus, and had arthroscopic surgery repair. I will describe the surgical experience below; the focus of this review is not on whether the surgery was successful but on the mostly non-surgical things I feel qualified to judge. A 5 star rating would mean there is little that could have realistically been better while 3 star would mean it was acceptable with lots of room for improvement. I am not considering pricing. Rating is 5 stars. The overall experience felt professional. The waiting room is pleasant, clean and with comfortable seating. The staff was uniformly good with a high level of competence. They did well with follow-up and providing information about what was happening and what the processes would be like, what to expect, etc. Not a criticism, an observation: once you are being seen everything was efficient. Not like they were rushing you but you could tell they have other patients and they know how long exams and presenting information should take. They have a related company with an MRI onsite and also a surgery center. I am cautious about such arrangements because it can incentivize unneeded testing. But in this case I did not get that sense and the convenience was well worth it. I checked the MRI pricing and it was very competitive. I also liked that if the image quality was bad, Dr, Bigler could easily order a reschedule without hassle. Cons: On several occasions I had long waits before being seen. Over an hour. The Dr. did apologize without me bringing it up and it felt sincere. My interactions with Dr. Bigler were all positive. Call it bedside manner, he conveys confidence and explains clearly balancing quantity of information with your ability to understand. You can tell he has presented the same information many times, but it is not rushed and he is looking for you to show you understand. My surgical experience, this is no longer part of the review. I am writing this about 6 weeks after surgery. My injury required removal of 15% of the outside meniscus, which I gather to be one the easiest to recover from. Once I decided to go ahead with surgery, they schedule a pre-operative meeting. A nurse went over day of surgery scheduling and what to expect, lost of paperwork. Dr. Bigler had previously explained the surgery itself, what to expect as far as healing, etc. The anesthesiologist contacted me the day prior to surgery to go over questions (can't remember his name but he was very good, an ex-motorcycle racer). Don't eat night before, day of surgery. Surgery itself was almost anticlimactic, I just relaxed as much as possible and let the team move me along. It was almost a relaxed environment, everyone knowing what they needed to do. Bam I was out, then woke up in recovery with a very bandaged knee. Bandage can't get wet, and it was 3 days until it was removed. Good luck with the sponge bathing. During this time extremely little pain. I stayed on crutches for the first 3 days, although I could put slight pressure on the leg. Icing helped a lot and found that I continued to use ice during the next 6 weeks. The bandage hid things, but there was substantial swelling which is normal. I took one pain pill the first night as I went to bed as a precaution, but after that just the occasional Tylenol. After the bandage was off, I would use one crutch as a kind of cane to get around. It might have been possible to do without the crutch but I was nervous about putting on too much pressure. For much of the first week the leg was elevated and when possible iced. I stopped using crutches after the first week, but as mentioned continued icing which really helped. I started physical therapy the week after surgery, going twice a week. In my very specific case, twice a week was wasted. The first day of real therapy you go through a bunch of exercises that are outlined on a printout, mostly using your own weight with some supplemental rubber resistance bands. These are very simple exercises that you will continue to do at home. So, when I went back for the next therapy session, almost all of the time was simply doing the same exercise I was doing just fine at home. At the end of the session the therapist came by to evaluate my knee, so there is value in that. I have access to a gym and with the printout felt comfortable reducing therapy and ending it earlier than planned. The first 3 weeks the swelling was very noticeable. Once I started therapy in earnest I had discomfort but no real pain. Icing helped a lot. I lost about 3-4 lbs of muscle on the leg. The biggest challenge was getting into the car; the ability to bend the knee was very limited. I also found driving two footed worked best. I could do a 20 minute walk the dogs, but that was my limit. From 3-6 weeks progress seemed more rapid. read more

Hi my name is Lisa and I'm a patient of Dr. Gregory Bigler. Before seeing Dr Bigler, I had two knee surgeries for meniscus tears. Those surgeries from the other surgeon were not done correctly. I still had 2 tears 3 months after that surgery. I went to see Dr. Bigler and he and his staff were so great. The best I've ever seen. I wish I would've seen him to begin with. I saw Dave, Dr. Biegler's assistant several times. I had injections in both knees and 4 mos. later, I am still pain free. However, Dave gave me two elastic knee stocks (one was too large, so he gave me another smaller one). Six mos. later, I received a bill for both of these socks. I called and talked to the lady who sent the bill. She said my insurance, Medicare refused to pay for them because I was not a Nevada resident! I called Medicare twice. Medicare said the office never sent a bill to them. We went round & round, the result being, the office manager would not reduce the bill and said I should become a Nevada resident if I don't want to pay the bill! I have lived in Nevada and Michigan for three yrs and never encountered this before. You better check to make certain they will bill your insurance company before service. I liked Dr. Biegler when I saw him but will not return to deal with his staff! read more
