I initially had a positive experience at Nevada Spine Clinic (Dr. Christopher Fisher's office), and…read moreI even left a favorable review. Unfortunately, what followed has been a complete breakdown in continuity of care and communication. I was treated for lumbar radiculopathy and lumbar spondylosis and previously underwent a nerve ablation at this clinic. As part of my treatment plan, I was prescribed a SAM (Sustained Acoustic Medicine) wearable ultrasound device. The first two prescriptions were handled without issue, and I used the device exactly as directed. It worked--I experienced real relief in both my lower and upper back. I even told PA Rosa directly that the device was helping. When it came time for a continuation prescription, the clinic abruptly refused and told me to "go back to my primary doctor at the VA"--with no coordination, no referral, and no clinical explanation. This was a treatment they initiated, yet there was no plan to ensure continuity of care. What followed was even more concerning: * I left multiple messages with Bridgette requesting a callback * I spoke with Flora, who identified herself as Dr. Fisher's scheduler and supervisor over scheduling staff. She stated she would follow up, she never did * I left additional voicemail messages and received no responses No patient should have to chase down basic communication--especially while dealing with ongoing pain. While my ablation was done some time ago, the VA had been in the process of coordinating further treatment for my upper back. After this experience, I no longer feel comfortable returning to this clinic. The result of all of this has been a gap in care, increased pain, and unnecessary stress trying to navigate something that should have been handled by the treating provider. Due to the seriousness of the breakdown in care and lack of response, I am preparing to file a formal complaint with the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners if this is not resolved. From a patient perspective, the following issues are particularly concerning: Failure of Continuity of Care: The clinic initiated and managed this treatment. Abruptly discontinuing support without ensuring proper transition or coordination with another provider represents a breakdown in continuity of care. This raises concerns under NRS 630.306(2), which defines unprofessional conduct as failure to provide medical services in a manner consistent with accepted standards of practice. Lack of Medical Justification: No clinical explanation was provided for discontinuing a treatment that had already been deemed medically necessary and was actively benefiting my condition. I communicated directly to PA Rosa as well as ancillary staff that I was receiving relief from use of the device, yet this was not meaningfully considered. This may fall below the standard of care under NRS 630.301(4). Absence of Care Coordination: I was not provided a referral, assistance transferring care or prescriptions, communication with my primary care or VA providers, or any structured plan to avoid interruption in treatment. Failure to coordinate care in this situation may constitute patient abandonment under NRS 630.3062. At this point, I am simply requesting appropriate follow-through on the care that was already initiated. Specifically, I am requesting that the clinic issue the third prescription for the SAM device. I am sharing this so others understand that while initial visits may go smoothly, follow-through and patient support matter just as much. In my experience, that is where this clinic failed. And as a side note, the front door says "exit" but it's actually the entrance to the clinic. It's very confusing for new patients. With all of the money they make, someone should get that fixed so that people are not walking around the building looking for the entrance.

On surgery day, he even moved the incision site a little to avoid my hand tattoo! He's pretty awesome! I did have some issues because my surgery was near Christmas so my sutures should have come out in 5 days. But I was scheduled for 12 days post op to get them out. I ended up going to urgent care the day afyer Christmas and got out on 2 weeks of antibiotics because it got infected and a couple areas tore and made a hole. Even the urgent care doc said those stitches need to come out ASAP! Stitches came out Monday, even the tech was saying they were left in too long. Oh well. Besides from the scheduling mess up, the fact I'm not in constant pain is wonderful! Thank you Dr. Laroche for helping me!

Horrible cumbersome technology as well. 1) After reading about possible solutions to physical problems with your joints, it is apparent they are going to do the bare minimum in order to keep a low risk management profile. The lawyers run this place, not the doctors. 2) They want you to check in ahead of time via internet. Ok fine. But instead of a questionnaire where you check a box about cancer, diabetes, etc and hit submit at the end (like MOST doctors), you have to answer each question individually with a slow tedious dropdown with lots of clicks and processing time in between. Prepare to spend 45 mins. Again, its all about legal risk management for them. 3) They have more questions than the average doctor and frankly most of them are not relevant to your condition. Risk management. 4) They require you fill out the same tedious questionnaire and upload your insurance and driver's license EACH VISIT. I repeat EACH VISIT, even it if was just a week ago. Most doctors just want you to verify your contact information and emergency contact. Not them. 5) Additionally, they want you to show up 30 MINS BEFORE the appointment to "CHECK IN", even if you have already done with their tedious website and were there a week earlier. ***THEY WILL NOT SEE YOU OTHERWISE***. 6) So you get there and check in 30 mins early, but they make YOU wait at least 30 mins past the appointment before they call you back. So a full hour of doing nothing. And then you will wait another 15 mins before the doctor finally shows up. 7) They will NOT see you for more than one condition per visit. If you have a problem with your knee and your shoulder, they require you make separate visits with the long check in process despite the burden on the patient. TONEDEAF.

The doctor determined that I had severe stenosis on L4, L5, and needed a Laminectomy. So he arranged for surgery at Southern Hills Hospital on February 28, 2024 and my arrival time was set at 6:00 a.m., I had no one to take me to the hospital, so I contacted Lyft which arrived late at my residence. I arrived at the hospital at 6:25 a.m., at which I was admitted to the hospital after finishing the paperwork and doing routine blood work. Then I was escorted into a waiting cubical where the nurse attempted to place an IV into my right forearm. After poking me for several minutes, another nurse who was present in the room kept shouting at me that I was not relaxed and that it was my fault that they couldn't find a workable vein. They nurses finally pulled out the IV and had a more senior nurse come in to do the IV procedure. While the more senior nurse was looking for a workable vein, suddenly at 7.00 a.m., Dr Poelstra walked into the cubical and threw a temper tantrum and immediately cancelled the surgery blaming me for having been late and for getting annoyed at the nurse who had been shouting at me that it was all my fault. He was harsh and ordered me to go home. In my opinion, Dr. Poelstra was totally unreasonable since he had kept me waiting for hours for his office appointment on February 22, then when I was a few minutes late for the surgery, he punished me for something that was out of my control. Subsequently, I was escorted out of the hospital by hospital staff akin to a criminal.

Maybe if the Dr actually spent time w his patients then my referral would have been submitted accurately. I called their office 4 times trying to fix the denial. No one calls back. It clearly states on my paperwork the dr office received a copy. Then a supposed manager calls and says they want to see me again in their office, for what??? I already came in, explained everything clearly and now I have to do the same thing so you can bill my insurance for another visit? I asked them to cancel everything and hung up. This office is highly unprofessional and a scam!! Avoid at all costs.

I never imagined I would have to write something like this, but after watching my sister suffer…read morethrough a horrific experience with Dr. Michael Bradford, I feel it is my responsibility -- not only as her sister but as a concerned member of the community -- to speak out. This isn't just about a surgery gone wrong. This is about a patient being harmed, abandoned, and treated with a shocking lack of care and professionalism by a doctor who should have never been allowed to operate in the first place. Earlier this year, my sister went into what was supposed to be a routine hip replacement surgery, performed by Dr. Michael Bradford. She had prepared for this procedure like any responsible patient would. She met with the surgical team, asked the right questions, and was assured -- multiple times -- that she would receive a nerve block to help manage her post-operative pain. Every single member of the surgical team confirmed this with her. It gave her some comfort going into the procedure. But that's not what happened. Not only was the nerve block never administered, but the surgery itself became the start of a nightmare that hasn't ended. From the moment my sister woke up, she was in unbearable pain. Worse, she was met with silence. Dr. Bradford, the very person who had performed the surgery, never came to see her after the procedure. He never checked in on her. He never spoke with her again -- not at the hospital, not after discharge, not when she or her other doctors tried to contact him. He completely abandoned her. As her sister, I stood by helplessly as she struggled with pain, fear, and confusion. She kept asking, "What happened to me?" -- a question no patient should have to ask after surgery. Yet no answers came. Dr. Bradford refused all communication, leaving her and her medical team guessing about the most basic details of her surgery. Was the hip replacement even done properly? Did something go wrong? Why wasn't the nerve block administered? We still don't have answers. My sister is not the type to sit quietly and accept mistreatment. She took the time to document everything -- a full timeline of events, supported by photos of her surgical wound as it worsened over time. She prepared lists of unanswered questions and compiled other patients' complaints, reviews, and reports about Dr. Bradford. Shockingly, there is a long history of similar behavior connected to him, Nevada Orthopedic & Spine, and Sunrise Hospital. This isn't an isolated incident. As her family, we have watched her endure physical pain, emotional trauma, and the overwhelming stress of fighting for basic information that any patient should be entitled to. Instead of being treated with compassion and care, she was met with disregard and abandonment. In my opinion, this goes far beyond malpractice. This is outright negligence -- a complete violation of the trust patients place in their doctors. It's also a violation of Nevada law. Under NRS 200.495 -- Criminal Neglect of Patients, what Dr. Bradford did (or failed to do) rises to the level of criminal conduct. When a doctor walks away from a patient with no explanation and refuses to communicate with them or their medical team, knowing they are suffering, that isn't just bad practice -- it's dangerous and unacceptable. I strongly believe a formal investigation needs to be launched into Dr. Bradford's actions, his medical practice, and his history with patients. I believe he should be issued a Cease and Desist Order to stop him from performing surgeries until this matter is fully investigated and resolved. No other patient should be put at risk. This situation has opened my eyes to just how vulnerable patients really are -- especially when a doctor thinks they can act without accountability. My sister did everything right. She prepared, she asked questions, she trusted the medical system. And instead, she was harmed, ignored, and left to pick up the pieces on her own. This isn't just her story. It's a warning. I'm speaking out because I don't want another family to go through what we've gone through. No patient deserves to be treated like this -- to be left in pain and fear, wondering if their doctor even cared whether they lived or died. My sister's trust was betrayed. Our family's trust was betrayed. And from what we've seen in her research, countless other patients' trust has been betrayed, too. I am calling on medical boards, legal authorities, and anyone responsible for patient safety to take this seriously. Investigate Dr. Michael Bradford. Hold him accountable. Protect future patients from going through what my sister endured. We want answers. We want accountability. And most of all, we want this kind of reckless behavior to stop -- now.

Dr. Bradford is an excellent surgeon. However, he "doesn't do postoperative care - your internist…read morecan do it." This was not communicated to me ahead of time, and he had neither my permission nor my primary doctor's approval. I had a very rugged recovery, and do not understand why the practice doesn't have a PA on staff to see patients in the hospital and during the following weeks. The hospitalist never even entered my room. He stood at the door to talk to me, and I suppose wrote prescriptions. There were dangerous complications that were not noticed until after my discharge and eventual admission to a different hospital. It has been a heartbreaking experience, and it did not need to be this way.
