I have been going to Dr Grover since 2010, In 2011 he performed a procedure on my neck. He performed a spinal fusion involving c-2 to c-6. I was really scared but I never had any issues. I was able to recover almost all of my movement. I really can't tell, there was ever anything wrong. I also had surgery on my back this year by Komelis Poelstra, I was struggling with Sciatica to a point I could barely stand up. Dr Poelstra did an incredible job. It has been 5 1/2 yrs since my spinal operations by Dr Jaswinder Grover. I had a traumatic spine injury unattended for 4yrs until I met this Doc. He told me a few things, 5yrs later let me give some fruition; Do your required exercises,correctly. Get off pain pills asap. Watch your weight and of course quit smoking. By the way,nicotine causes bone to heal more slowly. I did my instruction sheet. I quit the narcotics for pain from the doctors when I got home. I kept my weight,ok, I am 25lbs heavier these days,and I actually quit smoking almost 2yrs now. I am 55 have other health issues,but my spine people, If you do exactly,word for word what this doctor tells you,you will be just fine. Its gonna hurt,you were cut open. Narcotics do not heal. I took the pain and did my dues and my pain left me 5yrs now. To be assured,my lower spine was what they called Chicken bone smashed. Fragmented,had to pull out my guts ,to pull fragments out. No excuses, I had it as bad as it gets. No drugs. I ouch and oouch in the cold,sometimes. Pain is just weakness leaving your body. Let it flow out. In the beginning all this sounds like horse stuff. That is why my friends 5yr update. I have never even spoke to the doctor again. I said thank you and with his instructions and a ton of hard work,He was 100% correct. Dr. Grover is 100% responsible for the wonderful pain free life I've lived for the past 18 years. I refer to Dr. Grover as "The Next Best Thing To God". My surgery in May of 2000 was a major one. I tell people that he rebuilt my lower spine, and he did. The fusion of L4 & L5 with 4 brackets and 6 screws took him over 8 hours. I have just about fully recovered from my now 2nd cervical spine surgery with Dr. Grover. A few years ago I had begun to lose the feeling in my arms from damage done to me as a child from horrific abuse. My neck was twisted and misshapen, but I tried to live with the pain and issues. Finally I sought help with a good chiropractor who provided some correction, but he properly advised me to consider surgery. He was concerned, not just about my neck, but my life. He was very glad I went to Dr. Grover, who indeed advised me my cervical spine was pressing up against my spinal cord, causing the loss feeling and numbness in my arms. He warned I could lose the use of my arms. I suffer from a mental disorder which is exacerbated by stress, so I entered surgery on 9-27-17 with a lot of fear, knowing there was a lot of damage to my neck to be fixed. I also was nervous about the incision on the front part of my neck. But there was litle pain afterwards and my recovery was rough only because of the anesthesia and medication. You couldn't even see any sign of the incision once it healed! I was rear-ended about a year later and when back to Dr. Grover who noted the deterioration of my discs warranted a 2nd surgery (he advised me of this even before the accident). The 2nd surgery was on 3-18-20; only about six weeks ago. Other than some muscle tightness, I've felt almost no pain at all. My neck finally feels "normal" and where my head once hung forward, I stand fully erect and have really good range of motion already. I am very pleased Dr. Grover's abilities and am very satisfied with the results. I feel an overall improvement to my health and even an increased positive shift in my mental health; I attribute that to these surguries having "undone" a lot of the trauma I experienced as a child. I highly recommend him; and his surgical nursing assistants are very sharp and attentive as well. If I have any concerns it has been with the administrative staff; multiple times they gave me appointments times, but when I showed up they said I wasn't scheduled, or it was the "wrong" day. They have got to know me and my "issues" and have been far better lately, so it seems like they have come a long way in this area. read more

My wife had a critical need for surgery on her neck which had to be done asap. Dr. Grover was referred to us by our family physician and when he saw the MRI he immediately took action and made things happen as needed. My mother and I were one of his first patients 1995. He did surgery on my grandmother, my mother and her twin sister and myself and one of my step-daughters. Beginning he was great but around 2006 something changed. All of us has to have repairs of redo's to previous surgeries done by Dr. Grover. Maybe had he took more time with patients he wouldn't have misdiagnosed multiple family. None of us were told that we have a rare genetic spinal disease that would of changed the decision for surgery. I've suffered with back troubles for many years. Over the last couple of years my back troubles had progressed to the point that it was interfering with my daily life so much that I found myself not wanting to leave the house for something as simple as going to dinner. I first considered surgery as an option about 2 years ago and at that time I met with three different doctors. I was not comfortable with any of them cutting me open, and I continued to suffer and just deal with the pain. About 5 months ago a family friend referred me to Dr. Grover. I wasn't very optimistic based on the previous surgeons I've seen in Las Vegas, but I was desperate enough to give it chance and schedule an appointment. I'm so glad I did. First of all, I have to agree with other reviewers that the wait times at the office can be very long. In fact, the wait times are the only reason I didn't give a 5 star review. i really wish yelp would rate the doctor, wait times, and office staff separately. But I have to say even though the wait times are frustrating, Dr. Grover is worth the wait. Based on my previous search for a doctor, I had an idea of what to expect and I came to my initial appointment with a recent MRI in hand. Dr. Grover read the MRI himself, and then spent a great deal of time with me explaining my options (therapy, injections, fusion, etc.) in detail. He was very clear in explaining the pros and cons of every option, and what type of results I could hope for in both the short term and long term. As I mentioned before, I had already seen 3 surgeons before Dr. Grover so I was already very familiar with the treatment options and had researched them all quite extensively. Dr Grover was the only one of the 4 surgeons I met with that actually took the time to explain every option so thoroughly. I imagine the long wait times for appointments have a lot to do with just how much time is spent with patients like myself that have a lot of questions. And not only did he address all of my questions, he also actively included my wife in the discussion and made sure she understood the options along with answering all of her questions too. Other doctors I've seen almost ignored my wife to the point she felt as if she wasn't even in the room. If I'm going to consider letting someone cut me open, then I want both me and my wife to feel confident this person knows what they are doing. During this initial consultation, I did not feel pressured to have surgery, nor did I feel dismissed and pushed towards therapy or injections. The doctor really made me feel in control of my own treatment, and gave me the knowledge I needed to make an informed decision. In the end, I decided that having a fusion was my best option for long term results. Once the decision was made, Darchel and the office staff took over and had my surgery date scheduled in a few days. This part of the process was fast and really took no effort on my part. In fact, they were able to get me a surgery date just one week after my initial appointment. I had to push the operation back a couple weeks just to give me time to arrange to be off of work to recover. Everything involving the surgery went off so much better than i could have ever hoped for. The PA Kelly was in charge of my post-op care. She was amazing, Just a few hours after having my L4/L5 fused I was standing. Don't get me wrong, the pain from the actual operation was nothing to laugh about, however I could instantly tell that while my back and stomach were in pain from the operation, the radiating nerve pain running down my leg was gone. I was so amazed to stand up for the first time in years without pain shooting down my leg. My biggest fear of having the operation was the hospital stay after surgery. While I wasn't really afraid/worried about the operation I was dreading the hospital stay. I HATE hospitals. I discussed this concern before my operation with the doctor and his staff, and I let them know that I wanted to get out of the hospital and back to my home as quickly as possible. I was told to expect about a 5 day stay in the hospital. However, after my operation Kelly (the PA) worked closely with me to get my pain level under control, and balance out my pain medication to a level I could tolerate. I was discharged after only 3 days! I would have never been able to go home so quickly without the care of the PA. As of today I'm 4 months post-op, and it's been 1 month since i stopped going to physical therapy and have been exercising at home on my own. At the initial consultation Dr. Grover told me that with my particular case I could expect to get back to at least 80% of normal, and possibly better. As of now, I would say I'm about 70-75%, and still improving as I continue to exercise and get stronger. I don't expect I will ever be 100% pain free, but I'm so much better than I was before the operation that if this is as good as I ever get, it was a complete success in my mind. read more

Dr. Grover was recommended to us by our very trustworthy friends that have had surgery performed by him in the surgery center. Staff was very competent and friendly. Dr. Grover was very thorough and interpreted my MRI which showed a cyst on my spine which had been causing severe pain on my left leg and foot for three months. The outpatient surgery he performed worked miracles. I no longer have pain on my left side, leg and foot. I am almost three weeks out from surgery and started physical therapy today. Okay then, I was disgruntled having to wait over three hours to spend 5 minutes with Dr. Grover, but I'm thrilled that I did, my consecutive appoints for pre-op were actually quite prompt. I had my spinal surgery around Apr 20th and was amazed to discover that I was virtually pain free. After enduring 9 months if unrelenting agony, I can sit, walk and sleep without most of the pain. Dr Grover's staff and surgical team are the best. After surgery, I came to understand why so many people were willing to wait so long to be treated by Dr Grover. With his Hands of Gold, and decades of practice, I am fortunate to have found myself in the best of hands. Dr. Grover helped me get my life back. I was suffering from extreme lower back pain due to 3 ruptured disc. He tried less invasive treatments and when nothing else worked he did reconstructive surgery. Yes there was a slight wait to see him but his staff is friendly, helpful & attentive, the waiting room is nice & clean and the MOST IMPORTANT PART is that Dr. Grover is a great doctor, diagnosed my issue in 5 minutes, got some medicine, did x-rays and followed up. After visiting with him, i found out a couple friends of mine have been treated and they rate him A+++ as I have too. I really would like to give this no stars. I seen Dr. GROVER in August 2015 he scheduled my surgery for September 2, 2015. I backed out because I was scared. He showed me and my daughter xrays that were taken in their office. The xray clearly showed my L5 was broken and at a slanted angle. I recommended mmt son in law to go see him. Which he did operate on last October. That was a hugh mistake and wish I would have never of referred him. My son in law seen another dr. Which went back in my son in laws neck and repaired Dr. Grovers Mickey mouse job. He said when he went in the plate wasn't even sneered down and just fell out. He said that it was bent and that is why my son had trouble swallowing. Well, I decided to go to this Dr as well. I did xrays at desert radiology. When I went back for my results, I asked him to show me the broken bone in my back. He informed me there was no broken bone. I said but Dr. Grover told me it was broken. He said your name is Rita right, I said yes. He said I don't think that was your xrays and if it was then that bone healed itself. After his Mickey mouse job on my son in law and the lies they put in his records and the lies he fed me I wouldn't recommend this dr to anyone. read more

O my Gosh. I thought I was in an episode of Seinfeld. You enter the Doctors office and there is a full length movie playing on a big screen tv. About 30 patients were sitting in the chair watching the movie like they had been watching it for an hour already. I stared asking patients how long they have been waiting, 1:45 minutes, 2 hours, 45 minutes, 1 hour etc. There was one person actually sleeping watching the movie. Then when you look at the patients it looked like an episode of "Breaking Bad" with the patients looking like the waiting room of "Go see Saul" Saul the attorney. Back braces, neck braces yes he is an orthopedic doctor but most of the patients in my opinion looked like they were in a minor car accident. I am 6 months out after surgery and I'm so frustrated. I had 2 vertebrae replaced and titanium rods put in. Dr grover did the surgery (hardest thing I've ever done,) but I have more problems now then I did before. The original pain is gone (pain down my left leg) yet now I have nerve problems down my right leg. I have difficulty walking and a numb spot on my leg. I also have a torn rotator cuff from them flipping me over on the table ( a risk of surgery? ) I never had a problem with wait times, but I did have a problem with meds. They would prescribe something and it wouldn't be covered by my insurance and it would take days for them to fix the problem. Ended up detoxing myself. read more
