Wow, what a great way to set the tone for the day. I was able to easily make a same-day appointment, and everything was excellent! From our easy check-in to our warm goodbye and invitation to return from the owner Jewel herself, it was a perfect experience. We first washed our hands in the back, then were guided to side-by-side pedi chairs with beautiful iridescent water bowls. The chairs were comfortable, and featured position adjustment and massage functions. Immediately, we were greeted by Jewel, who offered us complimentary drinks. We each accepted a "pink lady," kind of a mimosa, but with a splash of grapefruit juice instead of O.J.. My nail tech was Tweety, and she was warm and friendly throughout. We ordered the "Opulent Pedicures," the offering between basic and the "Decadent Pedicure." It came with warm foot soak, nail bed care, scented water and lotions (I chose green tea), massage of feet and calves, sugar scrub, warm oil and lotion moisturizing, and hot towel wraps **sigh**. After we were feeling nice and pampered, our nail techs got down to the painting, and delivered efficient, clean and beautiful results. I love sparkly toes, so I chose color 145. My friend chose a darker sparkly color, 170 (both solid choices!). We also opted for gels. Jewel came around again to refresh our drinks, and I had a nice Sauvignon Blanc. I couldn't stayed there all day enjoying the atmosphere and sipping wine. At checkout, I was not shocked at all by the price for the high quality pedis with gel paint. Unfortunately, I had to choose a green color for my manicure in theme for my friend's bachelorette party but my manicurist Trey did an amazing job by making green look pretty with a cat eye design (extra $15). To book with Golden File, they request you to book online and ask you to pay for a 50% deposit. They also assign you a manicurist at the time of booking so you are guaranteed someone will be working with you during your set appointment. I really appreciate their strong scheduling system as I can't stand when I make an appointment at a nail salon and they don't actually keep the appointment time. The staff is also all so friendly and nice. They offer drinks (water, wine, Viet coffee, etc.) and snacks while you are getting your nails done. There is also a phone stand next to you to keep you phone propped up to doomscroll if you please. It's all the little touches like this that I really appreciated!

I was able to schedule an appointment the day before and I was immediately greeted upon entering. The technicians and manager were all so nice and friendly, taking a genuine interest in what I wanted and my plans for the weekend. They have so many nail polishes to choose from - you can find your polish either by looking at the basket in the waiting area or just beyond at the two walls they have. The waiting area is nice and clean, though I was able to be sat right away. Since I got a mani/pedi I was in the big massage chairs. They worked well, were very comfortable, and the water/jets were a nice warm temperature. I also saw them cleaning all the bowls before they opened which leads me to the highlight of my experience: I'm an epidemiologist and I noticed that these women take infection control very seriously. I saw them wiping every surface down as the store was opening, each step of my service was followed by a spritz of what I believe to be alcohol, and they would also spray their tools immediately after they finished a task so that it would be clean if they had to go back! While it stung at times, it was so greatly appreciated because that is a level of cleanliness that I have never seen before! My mani/pedi itself was incredible, I wanted a deep red regular polish but Lillian convinced me that gel would be better for my wedding this weekend. They didn't have the exact color so we found a similar color (based on the bottle) that didn't end up being the same when on the nail. Lillian noticed before I did and went to find a more appropriately matching color. I really appreciated that because it showed she cared about my intended look. Cam did my pedicure and it was the most thorough pedicure that I've ever had! She had incredible attention to detail and my toes look so adorable! I got the special pedicure which came with a massage, callus removal, and lotion/oil, all of which were lovely. I truly cannot say enough good things about this nail salon. Annie, the manager, told me that they're undergoing renovations to upscale the place and it already looks so amazing! Please if you are looking for a spot to relax, get an amazing manicure/pedicure, you have to come to Lilly's!

When I lifted my side desk to put my water down, it was knocking into the desk of the person next to me. I also put in my appointment that I wanted gel polish, and they put regular polish on my toes which had to be taken off and gel polish put on...which caused me to run behind for an event that I had that evening.

After moving to New Orleans I have been trying to find someone who does Russian manicures…read more I have had several appointments with nail techs who seem to believe if they file around the bottom of your finger enough times they're doing it right. They are not. It got so bad that I took my question to Reddit, which is how I ended up booking at this place, which sadly was no different. When I sat down (twenty minutes late) I was informed by the nail tech that she does Russian manicures, but doesn't cut with a scissor. Immediate red flag but I had already paid in full and needed the disaster set I walked in with removed. This person then proceeded to not follow any of the steps of a Russian manicure. No orangewood stick. No flame bit to lift the dead skin. A jagged cut around the cuticle with oil added to hide it. Abrasions where my live skin was filed with the ball bit. I was then informed that I would need to pay an additional $60 for the hard gel application. To be fair, it was applied nicely and the shaping was great. It just wasn't a Russian manicure. If it had been billed as a hard gel manicure and left at that it would have been fine. The gaslighting at the end - I was told I should book hard gel fills moving forward because I don't "need" a Russian manicure - was the icing atop a very shitty cake. If you don't know what you're looking for, this is the place for you. The vibe and aesthetic of the salon is nice. If you're looking for an actual Russian manicure, keep looking.

I can't say I'd be back, but if you skip the pedicure and get the right employee to do your manicure you would probably rate it as a 4 star shop.
