    I officially LOVE RetroDuck…read more A group of seniors in my major decided to have a bar crawl the week before our last finals week. And at the last minute, we decided we wanted shirts as well. We threw together a pretty basic design (1 color, front-and-back design) and set out to find a local business that could screenprint a dozen shirts on such short notice (1 week). Turns out everyone in town was having bar crawls/BBQs/other end of the school year events and every screenprinting place I visited was SWAMPED. I even called a few places in Lansing, Holt, and Okemos. No one could turnaround the shirts in just a few days. Then I called RetroDuck and told them of my plight. "Sure we can do it, no problem." The customer service was great: I submitted my design via email and picked out a shirt color from their online catalog. RetroDuck emailed me back a few hours later with a graphic displaying how my design would look on the shirt I had picked out. I got to doublecheck the sizing of the design and everything. The shirts were done on time with no mistakes. After all was said and done, each shirt cost $11.90. Zero complaints.

I called to speak to the owner who actually sold it to me and she hung up when I told her what happened. Young's will never see another dollar from me again.     Disputing while Black:…read more I called Young's Beauty to inquire about a possible duplicate charge or non credit on my bank statement after I exchanged extensions. This exchange occurred within 28 minutes and I never left the store between purchase and the exchange. In my call, I claimed I had purchased only 3 packs of 12 inch hair, which I believed totaled $174. I claim, I was charged an additional $134 or at least never received credit for the exchange. Instead of directly addressing these claims, YB text me a surveillance photo of myself at the cashier counter. Then they made claims that I had made two separate purchases. When I inquired about why the need to provide a photo when I am not disputing making transactions or being there, and when I raised concerns about the purchase and charges with haste and impatience she said, "you dispute it with your bank then". I did, but also on my own accord, given the line of response YB provided and the misinformation, which complicates this matter even more. In the text message YB makes a claim I purchased 18 inches of hair and provides amounts that differ from the copy of the receipt texted (pictures provided). A month later, I learn that my dispute could not be claimed. YB was correct, I did not get an extra charge or a duplicate. Rather the $134 that I disputed was a difference in price. This was not clear, BUT I was happy to accept I was wrong and did. Sooo, why am giving YB a 1 star rating? In a handwritten reply to my bank YB made up a story in an effort to make me look like some kind of criminal trying to get out of paying--and they called the police. In the report and apparently they told the police that I said I "never made a purchase". That's not in text or in the bank report. YB also claimed, "I changed my story and thought this was an even exchange". That's also not in text or in the bank report They further shared a surveillance photo to bank and I suppose to the police. Again, I claim I was there and made a transaction so why continue to mention this? The Bank report dispute provided states nothing more or less other dispute for "duplicate process" (see receipts) which falls in line with why I called YB to inquire about the transaction in the first place. . My question is why: a)disregard the nature of my dispute and b)replace it with a very dishonest frame when there is no evidence of these assertions being made by myself. It's so painfully honest that Young's Beauty had little interest in understanding a (Black) customer complaint and concern. YB might have been right about the charge not being duplicate, but YB unfortunately was gravely dishonest about their reports of my narrative to the police and bank. They inevitably twisted it so that it's nearly criminal. For theses reasons, I plan to never be back and encourage all to do the same. Businesses like this do not deserve our business. Disputing a claim with my own bank (something I have every right to do if I believe that I was wrongfully charged) does not give one the right to make false reports events. Had YB listened to my compliant, they would have known I obviously misunderstood that it was a price difference--not a duplicate charge or over charge. I hope this story makes all of us uncomfortable with this kind of service. We deserve the best. YB is far from it.
