I normally don't do this, but I worked with these people years back and informed them their system does not recognize "email.com" from MAIL.COM provider. Called them to tell them their system was still broken, and not to use the email I had to provide in the "contacts," they got ticked off and hung up. Not going to use them to sell or buy gold. Seeing all the old reviews, I think they've slipped a little, or they need to train a new receptionist. read more

I'm probably one of the least enthusiastic people about collecting coins you'll meet. My mother was addicted to searching for the state quarters while I was in high school and it took my joy of collecting things away very quickly. I never really put much stock in holding onto a physical bill or coin and preferred earning interest via savings accounts instead. Yet I came across a 1920's something 20 bill and couldn't help wonder it's worth. What I liked most about Liberty Coin was the honest, professional, and energetic service. I thought it was cool that the book they use to estimate value isn't kept away but used in front of you, on the counter, so you have the confidence of not being swindled or misquoted. My old 20 wasn't worth more than a dollar or two more, but the gentleman who helped me provided me with a catalog to take that shows me the type, date, and worth of some more common coins and items. For once, I began to see how neat and lucrative coin collecting could be! I have no intention of buying a metal detector any time soon, but I certainly will think twice about any coins released before the 70's just in case. Liberty Coin also houses a small variety of random collectables, like vintage toys, dinosaur fossils, and celebrity autographs. They also stock more common foreign currency (like Canadian or Mexican money) for exchange. read more

First: Liberty Coin is moving locations soon. They will be in the actual Frandor Shopping Center instead of the Bank of America that sits at the mouth of the shopping center. Second: INTERESTING PLACE. I have never visited a coin/bullion store before, and was not quite expecting the experience that I had. In their current location, they are in the deep, dark basement of the Bank of America building where there is very little room to move around and even fewer cases of coins. HOWEVER, the staff that I worked with were amazing. Being new to buying silver bullion, they worked patiently with me to identify what I was looking for. From what I saw, they have a decent selection of old American silver, they buy/sell gold and sliver, and they are willing to help search for specific coins. I plan on continuing to purchase bullion from Liberty Coin in the future, and hope that their new shop allows for additional success. read more

I went in to Liberty coins last week to purchase gold bullion, I settled on a 5gr bar. I have many great memories of going there when I was young, spending all my Christmas and birthday money there, unfortunately it's under new ownership. I had confidence that I would receive honest prices, but I was severely mistaken, unfortunately. I was overcharged by $60!!! Recent television advertising promotes how Liberty Coin gives more cash for your pocket when selling coins and precious metals to them. As it had been over 5 years since I had last been to their establishment I decided to venture in to possibly sell a Barber Half Dollar collection consisting of 60 coins. Each of these coins would grade between an 8 to a 12 in my opinion. At a grade of 4 the book value is $2038 and at a grade of 12 the value becomes $6969. Included in the set is the 1897S at a 4 is $160 and 12 is $400, the 1904S at a 4 is $55 and 12 is $425, the 1914 at a 4 is $160 and 12 is $340, and the 1915 at 4 is $90 and 12 is $260. Just those 4 coins alone have a book value between $465 and $1425. Considering Liberty Coin is in business to make money one would assume they would buy at a lesser amount than book value, this figure would most likely be between 25-50% less than book value. Using 50% those 4 coins alone would be between $232.50 and $712.50. The quote provided by the Liberty Coin representative was an insulting $450 total. The insulting part of this offer is the melt value alone is just over $366 or roughly $6 per coin. In researching values through PCGS the lowest valued coin in its poorest state is reported at $18. In using this as the average with the 50% deduction each coin would then be $9 each which lo and behold comes up to the quote that was provided. All of the coins displayed full dates & mint marks, and full rims. A majority of the coins had at least three letters of LIBERTY in the headband. With all this said exactly how can you promote putting more cash in your customers pocket. I even told the gentleman I was offered $720 from my normal guy. I turn this down for I was expecting half of the figures I previously stated which would be in the range of $1000-$3400. Based on this experience I could never recommend going to Liberty Coin. read more

Scammed me on Ebay, they sent me a defective obsolete note and did not describe defects. I requested a refund and they would not refund my money claiming it was out of their "return time frame". I guess they are more interested in taking your money than good customer service...stay away from these crooks. read more
