The…read morereason I chose this store was that I had some comics that I wanted to be graded (getting your comic graded makes the comic that much more collectable) and they were the closest to me. After doing a bit of research on the place beforehand. I was fairly impressed that they've been in business so long and even after a death in the family the business was still running well. They even do Friday Night Magic nights. So after a nice long drive to Lansing. I arrived at the street it was on and my GPS had informed me that I passed it. Twice. There were no signs that I could see. I had to look at a bit closer to see that the store display had comic book memorabilia. I found a nice parking spot in the back and went up around to the front of the store. Come to find out that there are two stores that share the same place. A bookstore in the front part of the store and the comic store in the back. I really didn't have a problem with this except it looked like the book store had been closed for sometime. They did however have some pretty neat locally printed books and I bought them from a lady who had to be pulled from the back room. She was the one in charge of the book store part. So I went to the back and it was really weird. They had a broken down arcade machine against a wall, some random comic action figures against another wall, a few shelves with the new comic releases. At the counter they had various stuff. Mostly magic stuff. I talked with one of the workers and he looked over my comics and informed me there's two ways to grade my comics. The CGC (the main company that grades comics) had a backlog of over a year. But, there's another company that does it as well and it would only take a few weeks. I agreed upon that and they went to go ring me up. Two of the regulars there came up to look at my comics. They looked them over and one of them even picked them up saying that "It's defiantly not a 10" (Meaning that it isn't in the best condition) . They ran my debit card through and for 5 comics to be graded I was charged $90 and was told it would be ready in 2-3 weeks. This was back in August. So October I sent them a message asking why I haven't received a phone call as to the condition of my comics. I got no response. A few months later went by and I tried to get a hold of them on the phone # they have listed on there website. After numerous times trying to call I figured that the # they have listed isn't working or there # isn't what they posted. The reason why I'm giving them one star is that I still HAVE NOT received my comics. I have been contacted by them though through facebook only "Absolutely. I apologize again for the trouble!" So not only am I still out $90 I'm out my comics as well. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody

Came into Perfect Storm on our mini adventure to Battle Creek because I can never pass up a…read moretabletop spot. We came in to look at MTG cards and dice mostly, but we found so very much more. They have all the fixings to start you on a d&d adventure including dice, books and figurines. They have cards upon cards for magic the gathering along with the binders, card covers and card boxs. Love comics? They have those too! Best part? You can order things from their site to get sent to your home or the store and it even has a wishlist feature so they can let you know when they get something in stock! My husband was giddy- "Ace, look! I can shop from my computer!" So, if you have a nerdy significant other, stop into the store or check out their online shop to give your love an amazing gift, maybe a Valentine's gift. Hopefully you'll love it as much as my husband and I did.

In fact, things…read morehave only gotten better as they've streamlined their online auctions and moved into a more auction-friendly, customer-centric location (with real windows in the store!) and the staff has gotten the process down better. Yes, the shipping can be high because they can't "cheat" and send comics via Media Mail like smaller sellers can. But that just makes bidding in person that much better, you lucky locals! Still some of the best packaging in mail order. Haven't been to the new location yet but looking forward to it!

They promote themselves as selling "all types and sizes" of collections, but do nothing of the…read moresort. I contacted them multiple times asking for evaluations and looking for sales. My first contacts were never answered. After finally answering, they proceeded to inform me that my Comic-Con exclusives that are over a decade old and unopened aren't worth anything. That first edition DC Batman Black and White's aren't worth anything....ect. This place is not worth the time. Well over $1000 in valuables and they wouldn't even bother asking for an in-person evaluation, then told me to "try ebay". I was hoping this was going to be one of many sales as my collection spans three entire rooms, but they won't be getting a dime of seller's fees from this collection. Don't bother with this place.
