We started with two pig halves and got to break down the pig with very minimal help from the instructor. We learned a whole lot and we got to take 25lbs home each. The whole environment/shop was very clean and organized. We did have a chance to look around the shop prior to the class and the owner was very friendly and answered any questions we had. While I didn't end up buying a knife from here, I do plan on it when I have enough in my budget to spend on a knife, as I'm not a professional chef. Gage (the owner) knows his stuff and will sharpen one knife for free when you come in and he does a great job. Cleaned up and sharpened my mom's Japanese knife that had gotten rusty. I recommend all my chef friends to go to him for knives, so I have to recommend any of you reading this should check it out. He's got a great selection of amazing knives.

Cloverdale Mall in Etobicoke was the first shopping centre where I saw one. Eastgate Square is my second. Last Saturday, I decided to check it out. This store is massive! It is clean, bright, and nicely organized. Soup mugs greeted me first. It was almost as if this store knew that I love soup and heating it up at work for work in the microwave. I am the proud owner of many soup mugs that I didn't need a new one. I did love the colours that this store had, though. I enjoyed looking at double-walled mugs. You can get pretty good ones at KSP. I still use my Thermos one that I got for $5. I've had it for a few years now. I recommend checking out the clearance section. It's normally at the back, but it does differ from store to store. You can find pretty good deals if you take a bit of time to look at everything. KSP also has phone accessories, from USB cables to car chargers. This section is closest to the checkout area, where it's enticing to get something small while you wait for an available cashier. I enjoyed browsing around. I want a SodaStream machine and this store has the best selection and price. I recommend subscribing to KSP's newsletter. You can get coupons for future purchases. Why I'm writing this review though, is because I need to tell my amazing plunger story. I bought a plunger. My toilet's been clogged for two days, and my old plunger caved in on me (literally caved in). Upon trying out the plunger from here ($5 plus tax), my toilet immediately unclogged. It took me one flush to get it unclogged. That has never happened to me before! Such a wonderful $5 find.

Compared to William Sonoma for example, you'll find fancy items here for a little bit cheaper. But there are also things you can get from Amazon or in local stores much cheaper. I.e. they priced a potatoes ricer at $43 sale price, but you can get it for $35 online. If you find something you really want here, just take a second to check the prices if you don't already know it. Make sure you're getting a good price.
