This restaurant has the most complex and delicious beef ramen. This was a perfect place to pick up some outstanding sushi rolls, ramen and my husband's favorite....wakame salad. The food was served piping hot and as it is prepared which we appreciate. I would enjoy returning and trying some of their other delicious offerings. It was interesting to me that this restaurant is located in an old Long Joh Silver's. Great use of space in my opinion. Why tear down the old to make the new, right? I went here to get sushi for my 14 yo son. I chose it based on reviews. My son loved the spicy salmon and tuna, he said it was "excellent".! My only complaint was that I was told that it would be "10-15 minutes" but in reality I ended up waiting 30 minutes for the food. I think this is the best place in the metro for sushi. Once upon a time I thought it was Volcano sushi in Moore, tied with Tokyo (who no longer brings a warm, moist towel to prepare your hands, *sad face*), then I celebrated a couple of things at the Sushi Bar; now my allegiance has shifted-firmly- to Mizu. Unlike some of the other places in town, Mizu and their rolls NEVER disappoint. If you're not feeling sush, you can choose different ramens. Looking for a fresh dinner and to escape the heat, we landed on having a poke bowl at Mizu. The fish tasted fresh, the veggies were plentiful and their house vinaigrette added a much needed kick (sauce on the side). It was a very good bowl, however it lacked depth and complexity that I've enjoyed in other poke bowls. We went to escape the 100+ degree summer heat and their AC was on the struggle bus. The fans spread about were just moving hot air. It was a hot dinner and very much distracted us from the dining experience. We were seated right away and the service was wonderful. Our server was very helpful when ordering and was prompt with the water refills. Oh, and the whole team said "thanks for coming" on the way out. I have been here MANY TIMES. I love it! The service is TOP NOTCH, awesome food - delicious everytime and well priced! If you have any questions, everyone is eager to help and answer. This was my first time having Ramen and my husband has only had Ramen in Korea, we would highly recommend this place. The environment is casual and open, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their food. My husband got the Mazeman and highly enjoyed the no broth, just noodles and vegetables. Flavorful and had a crunch to it. My Miso Ramen was a lighter flavor, soft noodles and the egg gave it a great flavor to the light miso broth. Their sushi rolls are amazing with great care and technique. Ours had lots of crab and spicy Mayo on top. The crunch gave a great texture with the rice and soft crab meat. I'm diving straight into this review by saying that the meat that comes with the tonkatsu ramen is amazing. Genuinely the best chasu I've had in any tonkatsu ever hands down. When I order ramen, I order it for the broth and don't get me wrong, the broth was delicious as hell but the meat was fucking amazing, crunchy, crispy, juicy from the broth, and tender. It's as if god came down and blessed both pieces in my bowl with love. I'm talking like the chasu was raised in a loving two parent household kinda good. I'm writing this review because of the meat, it's been a day since I've had it and cannot stop thinking about it. Will be going back again just so I can eat the meat which came with the tonkatsu ramen, I've only had it in the tonkatsu but lemme say now that I only ever want it in the tonkatsu. I'd be down to try the other dishes with it but fuck the chasu in that tonkatsu was out of this world good. Salivating right now at the thought of it. The first time I had it, tasted the most fresh. The other times it's decent. I didn't like how they left the grey part of the skin still on the salmon. Gave the raw fish a fishy flavor. All the apps were slightly over fried or over cooked. The fried shell was too chewy and hard on the crab spring rolls, and the takoyaki was also weird. I didn't try the chicken karage or gyoza, but my fiancé said it wasn't very good. He really enjoyed his curry ramen though. I haven't tried the sushi yet here, but not really a fan of their Japanese appetizers, and the poke bowl is just okay. Service and atmosphere is nice, and my fiancé does enjoy their ramen items so, I'll give this place an okay rating. Try their ramen, and skip the apps. read more

We got the chashudon, and the tonkotsu ramen to go the other day, and I really wish I liked Mizu a little more! An honest review would be a 3.5 star. Chashudon was honestly pretty disappointing. Chashu itself was good, but they gave a huge portion of rice, and not too much of the chashu itself. On the bright side, the rice was cooked really well too! Just wish they were a little more generous with the chashu and the chashu sauce! It would've definitely made the dish that much better. Ramen was definitely the winner! Broth was pretty good, although I do wish the flavor of the black garlic would stand out just a bit more. Noodles were springy, and everything else was cooked perfectly. I'd come back for the ramen, but I'm willing to give Mizu another chance because service was great, and the food came super fast too - so that's an absolute pro for us. Love to try new places so gave it couple of months before trying this place out. Came in around 1pm on a Wednesday for lunch and got the takoyaki, salmon poke bowl, and boyfriend got miso ramen. Takoyaki was pretty good! They loaded up with the sauces but not too much. Just the right amount. I wanted the seafood ramen but they don't serve seafood at lunch time. You can get the seafood ramen but with a different broth. So I'll probably be back for that next time for dinner. I ordered the salmon poke bowl and they garnished it was half a lemon which I've never seen before but it complimented the salmon so it was pretty delicious. Very solid ramen place with an excellent selection of side dishes, sushi and more authentic Japanese fare. Does not dethrone Goro however, but is very close in that it offers more delicious, comfort-food dishes that may be safer tried-and-true "hits" as opposed to riskier, more innovative cuisine. I got the curry ramen and for appetizers tried their escolar and salmon carpaccio dishes - which were excellent. They also have very good gyoza, and takoyaki. Their spicy chicken karaage was also quite good but it may have too much sauce (maybe powdered chili would be better - like Taiwanese-style popcorn chicken). Also, their dessert options of ice cream filled taiyaki and ice cream mochi are sublime! Very cool interior decor as well with a TV that plays anime in the background (was enraptured by some episodes of Hunter x Hunter from Netflix). 2020 update. Great social distancing. Limited tables indoors and they do have a patio. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen with a chili bomb. The broth was very flavorful. It came with mushrooms, bamboo shoots, eggs and the char siu. The char siu was so tender and savory. I still wish the chili bomb was spicier. I had to use the entire bomb for it to be a medium spicy for myself. But that's a personal preference. I also ordered the lady love roll. It was so delicious and refreshing. The restaurant is on the southeast sides of the intersection of 122nd and Penn(sylvania) Avenue. It's actually one building south of the McDonalds. Two friendly ladies run the front of this neighborhood ramen and sushi spot. Dining room is on the smaller side and they get steady business. So between the two of them it can be a little slow, but food is fresh and so far has been pretty darn tasty. Lunch specials aren't the best value. We went in for their happy hour sushi rolls. On weekedays from 5-6 pm, it's too short and menu kinda limited, but value and quality is there. Ooo and I spied a ramen bowl on another table, it was HUGE and looked so tasty! I do wish they would put more emphasis on their sushi bar to add some fun atmosphere. It's basically an afterthought here and was even occupied by emolyees during our stop. That plus our secondhand table was broken and had to be steadied. But we enjoyed our meal! As limited as it is they still have one of the better happy hour deals in the area. Great ramen! My husband got the seafood ramen and I got the chicken ramen special. We split a karaage chicken appetizer. The chicken was good; super crispy thin crust. The seafood ramen was also really good: it wasn't really fishy like I expected; and somehow all the shrimp, scallops, and mussels were perfectly cooked. The chicken ramen was amazing: the broth was rich and I could taste ginger. The noodles had great slip and chew. We got a chili bomb, and that's another recipe I'll be trying to recreate; it wasn't just heat, it had great depth of flavor. We had the ice cream and waffles (ice cream sandwich). It was adorable and tasty. They passed one of my checks for an Asian restaurant: they served Asian green tea and not some crappy American tea. The atmosphere was a cross between American cafe and Asian bar. Open and fairly bright but with fun Asian decor. Price was really good. I don't feel cheated and wouldn't be upset if I'd paid a little more for the food. Service was also great. Attentive without smothering. We never ran out of tea or water. Let me first start off by saying that the service was great! I went during a quick lunch break on a weekday and food came out in a timely manner. Gyoza and takoyakis were both a 5/5. I wish I had ordered another round of these as my main dish. The bonito flakes were plentiful and beautifuly accompanied the taste. My main issue was the Tonkatsu ramen. Although I enjoyed the touch of black garlic, the broth was okay but definitely not as thick as I'd hoped for. The pork belly was dry, bland, rubbery, and was not up to par. The soft boiled egg lacked flavor as well. Noodles were decent. The dish overall not only tasted but also looked bland and visually unappealing. I'd also like to note that disposable paper plates, bowls, and utensils were served. Although they were compostable, I'd much rather have dishes for a more genuine experience as well as potentially decreased environmental impact. My girlfriend and I started with the gyoza and it was good. It's pretty hard not to like gyoza, though. I ordered the miso ramen and she had the vegetable ramen. We both ordered spicy bombs. My broth was SUPER heavy miso but it was good. It wasn't very hot, though. Especially not compared to the vegetable ramen. My girlfriend's bowl was steaming and mine was just kind of warm.
