Stop by Mizu 21 on Sunday nice happy spot did not disappoint. Super friendly with great parking. Very clean atmosphere and the food was great. We had the Szechuan spice dumplings they were tender and flavorful with great broth. Then we ordered the Godzilla Roll it was done to perfection with lots of shrimp it's a must have. For dinner I had Steak with shrimp Hibachi absolutely delicious and a nice size portion. If you haven't been I would give it a try.

I wanted so much to love this place! First of all, it's absolutely beautiful. I went with a group of 10 to have lunch. The waitress while very sweet was not the right fit for a big group. She was very soft spoken and shy, and had trouble with orders. My friends ordered hibachi from the children's menu and she came back 10 minutes later and said she got trouble couldn't do that. I felt like at that point she should've honored it and known for the next time. She never refilled any drink drinks. I got the Kani salad and the shrimp avocado roll. Both were OK but nothing special. I would definitely try this place again as I have heard good things and has heard the rooftop is great. Does not blown away my first time.

When you walk through the door you immediately notice that this place is new and beautifully decorated. We were seated at the hibachi tables in the back, which were nice. Unfortunately, we noticed right away it was freezing. Like you can't really enjoy your meal freezing. I'm not sure if it's just that it's super cold out right now so the vents for the hibachi are just letting super cold air in or what. Most people were wearing jackets inside. As fast as food goes, everything was seasoned well and tasted good. Soup was good but lukewarm. The salad tasted good, but was extremely watery. I think they could revisit cooking order a bit. At our table they cooked rice first and then the noodles. Then everyone but one person got their steak. She had to wait another few minutes for hers to cook. Finally they cooked veggies last. Since it was so cold in the room, our food was cold in minutes so that was a bummer. I'd maybe consider cooking the veggies first since those take the longest. Service was fine, but they definitely rush you out a bit. I'd come here again, but maybe wait until it warms up outside a little.

My family and I gave this place another chance. We had a late lunch on Saturday (2:30). It was a great time to go because it was quiet with only a couple of other patrons. We decided to do hibachi for my son's early birthday lunch and it was his first experience with hibachi. We got our own hibachi table and chef. The service was great from the start. We got our drinks and appetizer out fast. The drinks, a Mai Tai and Long Island iced tea, both were great. We shared two delicious sushi rolls for $13; those were the Philadelphia roll and eel & avocado roll. I opted for the lunch menu item, shrimp hibachi; it came with fried rice, veggies, and about 6 shrimps. They also provide a ginger dressing and spicy mayo for dipping. The chef did a good job with entertaining us, especially my kids. The food and portions were pretty good for lunch. Our waitress was super attentive and friendly throughout our dining experience. Overall, this experience was night and day compared to our first time here. Yes, we definitely will go back!

Came here for my son's birthday, we ordered some sushi rolls and a sashimi deluxe plate, fish was fresh, sushi rolls are tasty. Hibachi experience was fun. The service is really good, and the restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean. Great location too! We are happy with our experience.

Gorgeous space and wonderful service. Something I really like aside from the food here is that there are photos of the rolls on the menus. The strawberry nigori cloud sake was my favorite but the hot house one was also great. I will return :) Thank you Jaivia!

"How could I possibly know what I want When I was only twenty-one?" (Sinead O'Connor) Remember La Trattoria? It was an old school Canton landmark of an Italian restaurant hidden behind a huge mound of rocks set back on Route 202. It was bulldozed away, the rocks were demolished, the landscaping was graded flat and improved, and a new restaurant emerged. Welcome to the replacement-Mizu 21, a super slick Asian Fusion Hibachi, Sushi, and Bar. The interior is just plain gorgeous, with a sleek and ultra-modern sushi bar, cocktail bar, dining room and hibachi room. There was a lot of applause and raucous laughter coming out of the hibachi room, so no doubt their chefs put on a helluva entertaining show. Our server, Colin was fantastic -full of personality, charm, and a deep knowledge of the menu. We each had an appetizer and an entrée. Our two appetizers were Harumaki ($7 for four Japanese fried eggrolls) and a Spicy Kani Salad ($9) with a big portion of crab sticks, cucumber, spicy mayo and a sprinkling of masago. Both dishes were very good. I loved the Kani, it was spicy and quite delicious. My wife's entrée was a Grilled Chicken Salad ($12) of thinly sliced marinated chicken, spring mix, avocado, edamame, and pineapple. It was a very generous portion that included quite a bit of tasty chicken. Half of it is plenty, so we had it twice. My entrée was from the Chef's Special Roll menu - specifically #9, an irresistible named Kiss of Fire Roll ($17) with spicy tuna, avocado, jalapeno slices, seared salmon, spicy mayo and a crunchy topping. It was amazing -8 plump slices overflowing with tuna, salmon, spice, color and texture. What a feast. Our excellent dinner ran $48.31 after tax and before tip.

After several years waiting for a replacement to the old La Trattoria, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and service at Mizu. Both the staff and food were amazing, answering my parties many questions about the menu. Lastly, the sushi quality was excellent and plated with great aesthetic.

We decided to try a new Asian restaurant that opened recently in the town of Canton Connecticut called Mizu 21. Both the outside and the inside of this restaurant are stunning and incredibly impressive in their size, comfort, and appointments. At about 5:30 PM, and without a reservation, we were seated in about 15 minutes from our arrival. The restaurant was busy and there appeared to be ample staff taking care of the patrons, although we waited about 10 minutes before someone arrived to take our order. We decided to try some appetizers first and chose the chicken yakitori, boneless ribs, and pan fried Gyoza with pork. All three appeared quickly and were presented beautifully and were delicious. For entrées, we selected the Mongolian beef, crispy chicken with peanut sauce, and I chose the hibachi deluxe with steak, chicken, shrimp, lobster, fried rice, and grilled vegetables. The hibachi deluxe was fantastic, accompanied by dipping sauces that truly made the meal special. The steak, chicken, shrimp, and lobster were all grilled to perfection along with the vegetables that were a great accompaniment to the proteins. With the exception of waiting to have someone appear at our table, we highly rate this new restaurant for its fantastic food and great menu. All of this food, along with a bourbon, a Prosecco, a whiskey sour and diet Pepsi, with tip came to about $200 for three. We brought leftovers home! Worth another visit!

It was a humble reminder that you don't need to go to a culinary destination to find good food. Cheshire Connecticut may not be known for its food scene, however, I found Sakana was a genuine diamond in the rough. My expectations were admittedly low going in. My level of skepticism is always high when I see the "Asian Bistro" moniker, as it is frequently used for restaurants to try to appeal to the masses at the expense of quality by having a "jack-of-all-trades" menu that lacks the technical intricacies and mastery required for specific dishes. Additionally, these establishments tend to follow a "cookie-cutter" menu and offer the same boring dishes you can find at every other Asian Bistro. Even when initially walking towards the restaurant, I had my doubts. The exterior of Sakana honestly looked more like a clinic than a restaurant. Once I saw the menu however, my skepticism shifted towards optimism. For a local bistro, they feature a surprisingly extensive wine and cocktail menu, including premium sake options. I was particularly impressed to find toro on the menu; although it's undoubtedly becoming more of a trend in Connecticut, I was nevertheless happy to see it offered at Sakana as well. Overall I liked their sushi selections and everything I ordered was well-prepared and tasted fresh. We ordered a chicken and broccoli for our daughter and found the chicken tender and broccoli perfectly cooked. That may not sound impressive to those reading, but you'll be surprised how many restaurants fail to execute this baseline dish correctly. The service, although pleasant, was probably the only "weak link" of our experiences here. The quality of service was noticeably inconsistent between our two visits, and they would benefit vastly from having a more reliable and experienced front-of-house team to match the execution coming from the kitchen and sushi bar. Despite this minor gripe, Sakana was a standout. As long as I'm in the area, they will definitely be among the top of my list of places to eat!

So friendly. Is the food exceptional? To me no, but my parents enjoy it. Tonight we started with crab rangoons. Pretty good. Sauce on the side not very exciting. A chili sauce would be better. I got a sushi roll with White tuna inside and cooked shrimp on top and wasabi mayo. I forget the name of the roll but it was better than the two times I've ordered takeout. Miso soup was also good. Their soup bowls are in the shape of a heart which is super cute. Dad got some sort of a mixed protein dish with brown sauce (had shrimp, chicken and beef). Mom got the chicken and garlic sauce. They both got fried rice on the side. I tried it and it was very bland. Dad also got a salad with his meal and the ginger dressing was not very good. Red coloring to it. Usually ginger dressing is more on the orange side. Dad also got the Malaysian chicken coconut soup to start and it could use a bit more flavor. Was a bit watery. Mom loved her sweet and sour soup. Nice that this place is 5 minutes away. Cheshire needs more restaurants. Def not my fav restaurant in town though. Food to me is just ok.

I called around 4 pm on a Friday and someone picked up immediately. I ordered 9 sushi rolls for my family (yes, we can eat, lol). It was a variety of rolls, can't remember all the names; I remember my favorites, and those were the shrimp tempura, eel avocado, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and Philadelphia rolls. The person on the phone said they will call me when the order is ready in 45 minutes; I thought that was odd because I never had a place say that. The restaurant is in a quiet plaza and looked like it was a sit in restaurant at one point but turned into a takeout only place. They also gave us a couple egg rolls and crab rangoons for free; it was okay and had little to no filling, but I guess it's the thought that counts. The sushi was fresh, tasty, and CHEAP. I read that if you order sushi too late, they can run out. We got all our sushis and was very impressed by the quality and quantity for the price. This is definitely my new favorite sushi spot. I can't wait to try out their other menu items. Overall, a great experience and I highly recommend.

Food: Then I tried the rolls and pretty sure I know why. All the rolls are covered in SO much sauce that it's impossible to actually taste the fish. Tuna or Salmon, who knows? The rainbow roll, which I have never had any sauce on in 30+ years of ordering, was covered here. The sad truth is that is typically an indication of using low quality or not so fresh fish. The fish should be able to stand on its own! The yakitori? The beef was not chewable, the pork belly was decent and the scallops were good. Outside of the beef, this may be the only decent edible option. Service: One server, even though it's a small place, it's not enough. Also factor in that he seemed to be somewhat clueless of how the process works. We almost left, as it was 5 minutes before we could get his attention to take our order. The rest of the meal time was not much better. Overall: Seems this place has been open long enough to fix these issues. I guess the owners do not care enough to do so.

The menu is small, but has a variety from entrees, sushi, noodles, and shareable appetizers. There were specials as well that we took advantage of and ended up with a lot of food. My husband and I shared the Yukitori Platter, something that I haven't seen before on a menu. It's a Japanese street food that has skewered meat. Our platter had chicken, shrimp, beef, pork, and zucchini and each were very good. My husband got the Gyu Don (which is a beef bowl) and for $5 more, he got the set that included three side dishes and a miso soup. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Udon and made it a Combo for $5 more which included a classic Brown Sugar Bubble Tea and a Pork Bun. I loved my Udon, was flavorful and not too salty. The bubble tea was perfect, even the tapioca pearls weren't too hard or gummy. The service was good, but it was a slow start since there was only one staff member hosting and serving the dining room. It was a little busy with a couple of other tables. The staff were very kind and respectful. The food came out fast after we ordered. Akatsuki is really a hidden gem and it's a must try. The broth is delicate and savory. I wish there was a bit more filling in the wontons but still a very strong solid start. If this was the entry, I can't wait for the spicy miso. The golden fingers are finally ones I enjoy. The outside was not too crispy but I was getting take out so that is expected. I'm sure they were crispy coming out of the oil. My mom ordered the house chow mein fun. The vermicelli was soft, flavorful and perfectly cooked. Plenty of meat inside as well. The chef nailed the balance between cooked noodles but not wet noodles. Amazing dish!! She also ordered a side of hibachi chicken. Again, perfect flavor, tender and great portion. We also grabbed an Atlanta roll. I'm not a cream cheese fan in sushi but this worked.
