My friends and I were in the area and stumbled across this small convenient store and decided to stop by for a quick lunch. They have subs, (hot and cold), salads and more by the deli section. I order a grilled chicken salad. I must say it was really good and portion size was reasonable. Chicken was seasoned well and not dry. The employees were friendly. I do noticed that the store does have limited pastries on stock and like many other convenient stores, they do sell lottery tickets and scratch offs. There are few small tables indoor for customers to sit. Outdoors they have benches and umbrellas. If I was in need of a quick bite, I'd stop by here again. read more

I've lived in Vernon for quite a while and never had this place! So glad we decided to try it for dinner one night. Placed my order over the phone, which concerned me because the person who took the order wasn't clear. My husband picked up the order in 15 minutes and it was perfect. The outside of this place looks like a shady local deli. The inside of this place looks like an old 7-11. I was skeptical, very skeptical. I was also extremely hungover and the sign outside said "hot breakfast sandwiches" Double Egg, Double Cheese on a roll with ketchup was like heaven on a roll. It was everything I was craving. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Just stopped for a sandwich. Only one persons working Waited 10 minutes at the deli counter and five teenage girls walked in after me. This establishment has a new owner. Hence, new coffee bar with 7-11 quality coffee. While the cold cuts are still boars head, the sandwich quality has reminisced from the name Mixing Bowl Deli. No gloves. No hand washing by employees. Yes it was renovated but disappointing products. Prices are up. I'll never return. read more

I absolutely crave their deli sandwiches! They always pile on high quality meats, the toppings are fresh and the bread is simply amazing! Why is there a little wait, you ask? You can get a better sub sandwich at Subway. I tried all the deli's in this area , and mostly, any other place makes a better cold sandwich than this place, and on a average of $4.00 cheaper than the $13.00 they charged me for very little meat, very little toppings. Their sandwich is mostly just bread, but it's real good bread , came nicely wrapped in butcher paper ,with nice Boars Head stickers to seal the wrapper. There was a time, back in the day, when this deli was a delight. The staff was friendly, the goods were quality, and the deli was clean. However, since those halcyon days of youth, things have steadily been on the decline. The staff is often rude or negligent. Goods are displayed haphazardly and not stored properly. The entire place is filthy. Foolishly, I kept saying to myself, "Maybe they're having a bad day. Other locals swear by this place. I'll give them one more try." With each bad experience I had, I kept giving them "one more try." This ended, however, when I got food poisoning from eating there. I'm not sure if it was the turkey or the mayonnaise, but I am sure it was from the food there. And now, truly, I am never going back again. Ever. read more

This place has great coffee and DELICIOUS sandwiches! I would definitely choose this place over any of the local 7-11's or other delis. There's quality in all of the different things I've tried. Should definitely give it a try if you're in the area. read more

Too bad there's not a zero stars option... What a vile, disgusting place. It's a ideal location, but everything else about it is nasty. The so-called food is butchered in the most unimaginable way: soggy pancakes, leathery, scalded omelette with coagulated faux-cheese, surly table staff. A complete ripoff at any price unless you're looking for food poisoning, in which case come on in. One day the health department will close this greasy spoon, and hopefully a real restaurant that serves fresh, well prepared food will take root. This local deli is horrible! The owner is rude, and Unprofessional, I have went to this deli for years, even worked there. So i know what goes on behind the counter, the owner puts his workers down and yells and humiliates them in front of customers. The workers make fun of and talk about numerous customers. Most of their products are out dated. And all of their murchandises are over priced. The deli itself is old, outdated, the signs, the inside, the outside, the registers. And not very clean and sanitary. I dont recommend going to mixing bowl deli. And many others have the same opinion. read more
