    First course...YUM!!

SUSHIIIIIIII!! OMG...what can I say...!? This place is AMAZING!! They do an "All You Can Eat" thing...but this is NOT your run-of-the-mill buffet place...ohhhhh NO...! ;-) They give you a menu, with wee numbers next to the dishes; then you get a ticket where you indicate how many you want of a certain dish...you can get 5 dishes per person each "run" (that's what they call each time you indicate you want more food...!) We had three "runs" and we were ABSOLUTELY STUFFED for aaaages!! You're allowed 5 "runs" in all...a BARGAIN for €19.95 pet person (before 6pm) Him Indoors has never been too fussed about sushi, but he VERY happily tucked in to the sea bass nigiri and salmon maki...he has declared we WILL be back-apparently!! ;-) The food is all prepared to order, so no worries about raw fish lying around unrefrigerated or anything like that...everything is EXTREMELY fresh-and VERY delicious!! Him Indoors is allergic to garlic and onions, so his food was prepared happily for him without them-he loved it all... I tried lots of things and enjoyed it all...the food is really very tasty! The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't be put off...it's a really lovely place inside...!! I DEFINITELY recommend going here if you're ever around Dam Sq!!

Nice and cosy All-you-can-eat restaurant with decent decoration and defiantly perfect location in the heart of Amsterdam. This location used to be Genki, Unami, and now MIU. It's quite spacious inside. Went there with a group of friends. Food was nice, variety is so so, do not have many choice after 3 rounds. Good part is that they let us order as much icecream as we want, also you can chose slagroom as topping!!! XD sesame and greentea icecream is my personal favorite! Price for dinner: +/- 27 euro pp

    Various prices.

This is the most interesting concept I've experienced! The menu is extensive with each item having an assigned number. Each person in your party selects 5 menu items for 5 separate "courses." A menu item may be a piece of nigiri, three pieces of a roll, a miso soup, etc. The server brings each course to the table and once you've finished, they process the order for the next course. There's no waiting! I think the average person will only make it through 3 or 4 courses! The atmosphere is very warm yet spacious. The toilets are spotless! Excellent choice for sushi in Amsterdam!

    Super delicious !

Amazing sushi with an all you can eat concept. Situated in central part of Amsterdam. The service was great and the place beautifully designed. The music is low so perfect for conversation!

Nice ambience and fresh sashimi. The staff is friendly. The music is the worse! Feels like an eternal elevator ride to hell.

We decided to play a bit of roulette for dinner and asked the staff to help make selections for us based on what they felt was a "must-have." Needless to say - she knew her stuff. The food was blend of creative beauty and amazing taste sized for folks to try a few different things. I don't remember that menu names for everything, but I do know that I'd have no shame on my next visit by pulling up this review to show my pics and ask for the same stuff again. We literally enjoyed every single thing we had. The place is impressive. As you walk up, you'll stumble upon their repetitive Michelin cards displayed at the front window. Based on the taste and experience, they were well earned. Surprisingly, the tab at the end of the meal was not expensive -- I thought the value was worth it. The place has a trendy feel to it. If you decide to check it out, your best bet is to make a reservation. It seemed to fill up with people before we finished. I'm in Amsterdam regularly for work - this place earned a spot in my "must stop by" list each time I visit Amsterdam.

I do find it exciting that they are trying innovative flavors, but I also think its important to not overshadow some of the foundations in the process. (Tuna Nigiri: C) - Smells extremely delightful, but unfortunately dullfully lacking saline that could only be partially resolved by soy sauce. (Salmon Nigiri: C) - Fascinating concept with a South Asian influenced flavor profile that seemingly works. I'm not sure what the foam is supposed to be for since its completely disjoint from the salmon, but this dish wouldve worked if it was balanced with saline. (XO Siu Mai: B) - Surprisingly well flavored with a tender meat mixture, topped with some subtle xo to enhance with a noticeable but not overpowering spiciness. (Steamed Scallop: A) - This is the least fusion dish but also unironically the best from what I've sampled. A very classic profile with tender scallops, and an abundance of vermicelli and garlic that is perfectly seasoned with soy and sesame. We went based off the website boasting high end small dishes. We were anticipating thoughtfully prepared Asian fusion cuisine in an elegant setting. We ordered the tasting menu. None of the dishes were inspired. The menu started with an oyster in the half shell with a nice Asian version of a mignonette. The mignonette was excellent but the oyster itself was a little fishy. The sashimi that followed was good but identical to sashimi anyone can get in any decent sushi restaurant. The black cod followed. Like the sashimi, it was good but nothing special. The last main was seared wagyu. It was nicely cooked but the sauce was a completely uninspired sweet sauce that actually detracted from the taste of the meat. The tulip pot dessert was hands down the high point. It was the one part of the menu that felt in any way inspired. The service was friendly but very slow and very disjointed. The music was too loud to allow a meaningful conversation. The dining room is thoughtfully designed and actually quite cool. So, if you're looking for a club that serves mediocre uninspired Asian fusion cuisine, by all means go for it. If you're looking for a nice restaurant with thoughtful Asian fusion dishes, you might want to look elsewhere.

We had the Rouge 74 Chinese menu and enjoyed each course. We started with edamame, followed by the most beautiful and tasty sampler of dim sum. For dessert we had a specially made cocktail to complement the mango tapioca and gelato. Superb! The most enjoyable part of our dining experience was watching the bartender craft cocktails (we sat at the bar). His attention to detail led to cocktails that were true artistry! There is only one Bojo Speciaal. Nestled on a cozy street with lots of action, this place has been here since the 1970s. Walking in feels like a basement grotto with faint lighting and about ten tables in two rows. You already feel at home. Their menu is the standards of Indonesia, so there are no surprises. The wait staff are young and wondered if they were interested in being waiters. The owner or manager seated us. We ordered the SATÉ AYAM which is dark meat. We also ordered VEGA LOEMPIA'S or spring rolls which were disapointing. For the main course we ordered the NASI GORENG SPECIAAL or fried rice served with beef, pickled vegetables, skewer of saté and krupuk. We also ordered SATE-RIJST (grilled skewered chicken) in peanut sauce served with rice, pickled vegetables and shrimp crackers. Both were OK. Overall, this place is above OK, but did not feel it was great. When we paid the bill, they wanted cash, not credit cards which put me in an awkward position. It was about 65 Euros for the above with a beer and a soft drink. So, this place is worth visiting but with "reservations."

The food did come out a bit overcooked and service was slow considering we were the only customers in the restaurant. Staff don't bother to find tables for you; they let customers figure things out among themselves. Alright. We eventually grabbed a table after 5-10 minutes, then had our order taken 10 minutes later. The food took a long time to come out: about 40 minutes (other than 1 appy that came out after 20). Good thing it was tasty. We got: -plantain fries (€6) -- tasty, especially with the sweet dipping sauce, but you get about 8 fries, so not great value. -okonomiyaki (€12.90) -- this was wonderful. So many lovely textures, flavours, and seasoned beautifully. This was the highlight of the meal for me. -vegan plate (€18.90) -- really nicely designed plate, with a base of brown rice, with a sort of Japanese slaw, vegan chicken katsu, tempura (apparently, though I didn't notice it), and stir fried veggies. Super tasty stuff. Not the biggest portion, but not bad either. My friends each got the crispy roti wrap (€14.90), which they loved, and the taste I had was great. Overall, great food, not the best dining experience. Perhaps my experience wasn't representative. I'd go back for the okonomiyaki alone.
