First, I've never been to a dentist before, so I was terrified because I heard nothing but bad things about dentists. Coming here, I was immediately at ease! The staff is INCREDIBLE! They are really nice and talk to patients like they're actual people, not customers filling a seat. I felt welcomed immediately! They ask questions about you, not just Q&A over dental needs, so it felt amazing to not just be a statistic, but someone with a back-story. And my dentist was an amazing person, too. He was so soft-spoken, friendly, and wonderful. From the moment I met him, I felt at ease and I completely trusted him with my care. He took the time to discuss what he was going to do, the tools he was using, and he did his best to keep my calm while he drilled, filed, and administered pain killers. He did an amazing job, and better yet, I had NO PAIN whatsoever after my procedure (he said there might be pain) and it was back to business for me. I am actually looking forward to my second visit to finish my restoration because I know I am capable hands. Also, for those worried about the money-end, Distinctive Dentistry does offer financing. His assistant comforted me during the procedure by rubbing my upper arm, and was very compassionate. What can I say about the surgeon pulling my tooth out? Price was also very fair- $145 plus $26 cost of ex-ray. I am so relieved that I made the right choice.

They were going to charge me an outrageous sum ($787)up front despite the fact that both insurance policies were clear on their coverage. The billing staff at Northwest Oral Surgery was very snotty when I asked them to explain their reasoning more completely.

My dentist of several years sent me to Jay Platt for the extraction of two teeth. The first thing…read moreJay Platt wanted to know is if I was planning on getting implants from him, and I said no, my family dentist would be putting in implants. He numbed me and came back about 10 minutes later. From many years experience with dentists, I know when I not numb, so when he started yanking on my tooth, I immediately felt pain and raised my hand. I told him I felt pain, so he gave me more novacaine, but instead of waiting 10 minutes like before, this guy started yanking on the tooth right away! Again, I felt pain, raised my hand and said, "I can still feel that." He was behind me, and I could feel and hear an abrupt move that he made, and then I saw the plastic glasses he was wearing FLYING THROUGH THE AIR AND LANDING ON THE COUNTER ACROSS THE ROOM, followed by him saying, "I'm going to have to come back then!" in an obviously irritated manner. I would NEVER go back to this guy again. He's RUDE!!!
