    Fried banana
    Meri L.

Okay so.. Came here with a friend for restaurant week. I ordered a kani salad, 3 maki rolls and fried banana. My friend ordered a Kani salad, beef tenderloin and fried banana. The Kani salad was good, but had way too much cucumber. It was more of a cucumber salad with some Kani. My three maki rolls were great. Sushi tasted fresh. My friend said her beef tenderloin was tough. Now the fried banana.. So we both ordered it within minutes of each other. Only one was brought out by the food runner (NOT our waitress) and we had to wait quite a long time for the other one to be brought out. When the second one was brought out it was just thrown on the plate and not presented nicely like the first one. It did have decent flavor. Our waitress was great. Samantha was a rockstar! Too bad they can't give her a name tag where her name is spelled correctly. This poor girl's name-tag is spelled Samatha. Management, if you are reading this review, please give her a new name-tag... she provided excellent service tonight, 5/2/25. Overall it was good, but I'd only come back for my girl Samantha.

My best friend and I came for restaurant week. The ambiance was very nice. Our server was nice. The service took a long time. There weee long periods of time between each course. The food was good. I ordered the shrimp entree but they could have given more vegetables . I wasn't a fan of the mochi. The outside was too gummy texture for me. But that's just my opinion. It was probably made correctly. The drinks were very good. Definitely worth the money. The fried shrimp was good. I didn't have the sauce on it. I'm funny with sauces .

This was my sweet potato tempura roll made of what seems to be waffle fries lol...

I mean, I'm not mad but I'm also not thrilled. I ordered the sweet potato tempura roll and thought it looked weird so I dissected it. Turns out it was just sweet potato waffle fries.. but then when I look at the yelp review pics other people have posted, it looks like real sweet potato tempura. Maybe they just ran out of sweet potatoes and used some fries from the bar next door????

I used to come here when it was Monsoon - it's still just as stunning - the decor is amazing - the night I went - we were the only patrons there for about an hour before other people started coming in. (It was early on a Weds night) We had the place to ourselves, it was great to hang out casually and talk to the bartender - they have a great Happy Hour menu, plenty of food and drink options to choose from - everything we ordered was really good, love lucky spots that don't miss ! Will def be back

The food here was so good. Me and hubby had pad Thai, $25 lunch special (seafood bisque, ribs, and 3 maki rolls) This place is BEAUTIFUL!!! They decorated the place very well. Service was great and food was amazing.

I have visited this restaurant before and the food is really good. I planned a 25th birthday for my son. Dinner is 6 ( 5/23/25). Reservations easy to make. The service absolutely horrible they rushed us like bizarre. We told them it was my son's birthday. The woman server was rude!!!!! They sent each of our appetizers except my son. Then brought our entree. We were respectful and said my son's app did not come out yet. Even though his entree came out. At one point he got up to use the bathroom and our female server ran up on him screaming at him. " your app is coming ". He was like I'm going to the restroom. Well it got worse. We said in celebration of my son let's do saki bombs. The rude waitress was thrilled we wanted it. She banged sooooo hard on the table broke my daughter's glass in pieces. She clearly did not get an ounce of drink. She rushed us sosososoososos quick yet the place was empty. Not sure if it's a cultural thing. But my son was miserable!!!!!! At the end we gave an over the top tip and she ran over with a Mito bag. That does not at all make for a horrible dinning experience!!!!!! If u want a dinner party. This place is not for you. !!!!!!!' My son I really wanted to like this place especially food is good

I am always looking for new Asian fusion spots. This one stands out because it is the only one that I know of on Long Island that has beef bone marrow on the menu. It was a delicious surprise, featured on the Chef's Special menu. There is no sushi bar, darn it! The bar is an ordinary one, tended by a bartender. He perfectly prepared my recipe for a Virgin lychee martini: half lychee juice, half club soda, and as many lychees nuts as the cocktail glass can possibly hold. You'll find the sushi chef in the kitchen; and there is no omakase, to the dismay of die-hard sushi lovers like my Yelp Elite friend Linda K. You'll have to go to an authentic upscale Japanese restaurant for that. This is an Asian-fusion restaurant whose main menu selections include Scallion Pancake, stir-fried Chinese Cauliflower with spicy garlic sauce, grilled Rack of Lamb, Crispy Red Snapper, Wagyu Beef Burger, Signature Sushi Rolls and more. Prices are standard for Long Island. The service is good, and the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. The interior looks like a dance hall. The place would be perfect to impress that special someone. I will be coming back here with a plus one again and again and again...

Wandering around in Babylon looking for a place to have diner, and we stumbled across Mito and decided to give it a try. Upon entering, you immediately notice the gorgeous decor. The restaurant used to be a bank in it's prior life and it's humongous! My wife and I shared the Rock Shrimp Tempura. I've had this dish at many different restaurants, and I thought this was one of the better ones that I've had. The Szechuan spicy aioli sauce gave it a slight kick so I really liked it. I had the Ma La Beef Tenderloin for my entree. It was very good and the steak was cooked perfectly, but it was also very spicy. The waiter had warned me that the dish was spicy, but the spiciness on this dish was on another level. I still enjoyed the dish because it was delicious, and would order it again in the future, but will ask them to lower the heat if they can. For dessert, we had the Tempura Ice Cream with green tea which I also thought was really good. I highly recommend Mito for an occasion where you'd like to go to a nice restaurant for dinner.

We finally got a date night and decided to check out Mito, which is where Monsoon used to be. They have a promo running through 12/31 for 20% off your bill during their soft opening. Babylon is no stranger to Japanese/Asian restaurants but this one is a bit more of the upscale, romantic vibe. Hubs got a Sapporo and I got the Samurai cocktail, which has organic blueberry preserves in it. Really tasty, not sweet, and complimented the food nicely. We started with the steamed edamame gyoza - really nice and good flavor. 4/5 For the mains, I had the vegetable Yaki Udon. I really enjoyed my dish - great flavor and not drowning in sauce. The food was very fresh tasting and a good amount of veggies. My better half had the fried Szechuan chicken. He liked but didn't love his. He thought the breading on the chicken was too much. We also got a sweet potato tempura roll. 4/5 Finally, the piece de la resistance- the crème brûlée. You may be saying - "Mandi - crème brûlée!? This is an Asian fusion restaurant!" But alas, mon Cheri - the owner also owns a French bakery?! Our waiter recommended both this and the molten lava cake, both made in house but I am a girl who loves a good crème brûlée and I was NOT disappointed. This was epic. I'd come back here just for a cocktail and dessert (and maybe a roll). Just trust me - don't pass on this dessert. Welcome to the neighborhood Mito!

We attended the soft opening and there is room for improvement. Our Dan Dan noodles were missing the peanut broth, they ate very dry. We didn't know it was missing until we double checked the menu the next day. The portion is sharable if you order other items. The triple three roll was made with soy paper and stock full of protein. It was the star of the night. The 8 piece dim sum tasting plate is recommended so you can taste four different types of dim sum. The wagu beef and the shrimp were the best. The edamame had no flavor. As per their advertisement the bill should have had a 20% discount which wasn't given, see receipt photo. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Staff still needs to get into a rhythm which is expected since they just opened. We will give them another try in a few weeks.

Lunch bento sushi roll box, also came with soup.

Mito is a gorgeous restaurant. While my entire group enjoyed their entrees and their drinks, Mito unfortunately missed the mark a few times and we all said we were unsure if we'd return. Service was extremely slow and our waitress, although friendly, rarely came over to our table. More than half of us ordered off of the price fixe menu, and one of my party's appetizers came about a half hour after the rest of ours. When we went to order another round of drinks, they were out of Tito's, Riesling, and a vanilla liquor and whiskey they use for one of their speciality cocktails - on a Friday night. Definitely a bunch of kinks that aren't acceptable for what we paid! Hopefully in the future they'll ensure to hire enough staff and regularly restock the bar.

We ordered two dishes from this restaurant, both with which were insanely expensive however, I was willing to overlook the price if the quality of the food was sufficient. Almost $30 each for pad see yew and pad Thai, totaling over $70 for two dishes when all was set and done. In retrospect, I'm an idiot for paying so much for noodles. Regardless, I indicated "BABY level" of spice on my pad CU as in my old age I just can't handle it anymore. And my old age, I mean my 30s. Back on track, my order was received and not only were there barely any noodles or shrimp in my pad see yew, the container was not even halfway full. Both dishes, the pads see you and the pad Thai were so spicy that neither of us could eat it. Everything would be fine if that was where the story ended, but it's not. Upon calling the restaurant I spoke to a nice but powerless who handed the phone off to an even nicer gentleman with seemingly more power. He completely understood our predicament and offered anything we would want in order to remedy the situation. At this point, it is almost 9 o'clock at night so ordering and waiting for food to be delivered or re-delivered is not an option. We asked for a refund as the food is inedible. I also remind you that these two dishes were over $70 which is absolutely absurd. I also remind you that the pad see yew dish was maybe 50% full with three shrimp in total. The nice nice man asked me if I wanted to speak to the chef to which I said no, I need to speak with a manager. Oh no that wasn't a nice man. That was the nice but powerless lady that's who gave me the nice man. Somehow the Chef got on the phone and that's where everything falls apart. She was so offended that we requested a refund that she insisted that we were wrong, that they don't use spice, that we ate the food and couldn't prove it. She wanted a photo of said spicy food, as if the photo would indicate the level of heat. She thought we ate it already and wanted photo proof. She claimed that we were ruining her restaurant and said that we weren't nice. She said that she wanted us to come to the restaurant and return the food. Go anywhere else for Thai food, especially Galanga in Bay shore, where to the wise if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I apologize immensely for all in any spelling and grammatical errors, I am too tired and too hungry to proofread this voice memo review.
